i worked for colm wilkinson back in the 80's he sang this song nightly sometimes to very small audiences,i met clifford t once when he came to see a colm show,he was a cool guy, lovely lovely song may he rip ,then colm went on to be a big musical star, esp in les mis, with the song bring him home, good times

another of his very best vocal performances, and some great lyrics - did anyone else ever use the word 'halcyon'?
fond memories of working on my A levels with Steve Merike's Round Midnight show on Radio Trent - he was a great supporter of Clifford and introduced me to his music.
Another classic love song from the pen of Clifford T. Ward. Marvellous orchestration by Richard Hewson.Originally on his 1975 Phillips album 'No More Rock And Roll'. Pax to all from 'SoulBoy' Smith. Xxx.
One of my faves from the great man. Especially love the violins at 1.14. (and the picture of M.M.) Pax to all from "The Southern Soul Master" Ian Smith.Xxx.
we were 25 years married last week and my wife gave me a clifford t ward album, the very same one we listened to on my cassette player as we drove around in my yellow VW beetle, 25 years dissolved and i was back in 1982, i cried all day listining to the album
scalpsie...I really have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all these songs that words cannot describe unless you are Clifford T ward......the man was blessed...rip
This was the song I wanted to hear....it has taken me 2 hours this evening to dredge the tune and title from the deep and polluted canal of trivia that is my mind... the mental strain has been worth it! Great song, thanks for posting...now I shall replay and favourite it...ah bliss!
I am so delighted that you have found this gem of a song and that it has struck a chord....your kind words and thoughst are very much appreciated.Peace.
This is the song I want. To my surprise, this very night I find that this beautiful song I searched for so long under the (tag) name of Cliff Richard was actually composed by the great clifford T ward. I knew this song when there was only pirated record in my country, just the title and the singer on the cover, no credit for the composer, So I thought this was cliff Richard's (his version is also sweet). No wonder the tune keep on ringing since my childhood time . Thank scalpsie!
I am never surprised that his music was never what would be termed "popular". Popular music is "for the moment". CTW's music was, is and always will be timeless. Thank you CTW.
I am nver surprised that his music was never what would be termed "popular". Popular music is "for the moment". CTW's music was, is and always will me timeless. Thank you CTW.
what an amazing song! I remember this from when i was growing up my parents used to listen to this song alot with other such greats like glen cambell, simon and garfunkel ...this song just floods back the memorys. Actually still trying to find a copy of this song it seems to hard to get hold of. And i also agree with other comments... youth today could learn so much from this generation of music, sadly you know they never will .... thankyou for posting, at least this way its our secret..
yet again cliff delivered a song that really hit the nail on the head at that time in my life. i have yet to come accross another musician who as affected me so much with their music and to all those first time cliff people welcome to musical heaven
Your work on the videos give it so much atomsphere, they must have taken you so so long, but i'm slowly begining to work out your appreciation towards this artist. This music is produced long before I was even born, and as a rule, my generation would reject it...but our generation are fools, avoid of emotion. Thank you for the lesson
WOW! Fantastic...what a beautiful comment...proof that great songs and sentiments and emotions transcend ALL ages...I'm so overjoyed you got such a 'buzz' from it..THANK YOU!Lessons...no charge(free)!I'll treasure this gem of a comment!Humbled.
Thank you Pax for another great presentation. This song has been covered by many artists and is one of my fav. Kind rergards and best wishes. Pat and the gang.
When I bought the No More Rock n Roll album in 1975 i immediately fell in love with this song. Its appeal is instant. It was several years before the song was finally released as a single by which time Cliff Richard had included it on an album and was performing it live. Michael Jackson's she's out of my life was the best selling single in the world in 1980 capturing sales of some 10 million. The melody and lyric delivery is almost identical to up in the world . Clifford T Ward at his very best
I just love the information you are giving out to all CTW fans..you make a great contribution to this labour of love. Can't thank you enough. Peace my friend. :)
Just love it, love it, love it. This is just how I imagined it would be. So sad and moving. Very touching. I adore the clips of Marilyn in this as well. Thank you always Martin. xx
Im SO,SO pleased that you enjoy it so much and that it has in part lived up to your thoughts. I always look for your valued comments and then know it's been worthwhile. Thank you endlessly..you'll never know. Peace and contentment always with you. Martin x
Another one I'd forgotten. What happened to him. Certainly didn't get the recognition he deserved.
