Pakistan currently has female pop artists and are very well known throughout the country and the middle east. However, unlike Nadia Ali, they re not well known in the Western countries. @scyther6666 You can't deny though had she grown up in Pakistan and not America, it would have been exponentially harder for her to do what she has done. Her message isn't just to say she's proud to be Pakistani, but to try and give hope to Pakistani women who face discrimination and oppression. I don't think its a coincidence that Pakistan has still not allowed her to perform in their country. Its quite a shame.

I`m Pakistani Muslim too (not practicing, personally, but Shia) I was raised pretty liberally... did what I wanted to, wore what I wanted to, ate what I wanted to... I think Pakistani households are understated! LOL.... we're not all that bad.

Regardless of what my country is or its people whom are both beautiful i'm always a Proud Pakistani and there are another 179 million just like me. She's dressed skimpily, it's a shame that there's no such thing as modesty in this day and age. We are Pakistani and people of great culture who are modest and well mannered, not uncivilised people who where small tight clothes to cover their backsides.

As a proud Pakistani American and practicing Muslim, while I can't 100% agree with her choices personally, I completely respect her judgments do what she wants to do. Only Allah is the final judge. For all I know the bearded so called Muslims are bigger sinners.
