  • I just beat this game and I would like to say that I am lucky to play it on my neo-geo 4 slot machine.I died soo many times on this game !!!!! Idk if its the arcade setting that's designed to take your money but this was hard for me to beat.

  • bonus!

    bonus!

    woop!

  • Win Kawaks, or just kawaks maybe? i cant remember the name, first emulator i ever had, i was about 8 and my brother put it on my old computer, had all the neo geo games. AMAZING :D

  • @gavrokk

    NeoRageX = CamTasia ^^

  • @gavrokk

But I have this original game too in AES version!! =D

  • @GroovyMango Oh i'd love to have the original too, that's cool :) Its just my first experience with the game was growing up with it on my computer :P

  • this game is fucking awesome, one of the best shooters i ve ever played

  • Whoa.... :)

  • @Fedorasnesguy

It's my Favorite game qwith Last Blade 2, Garou MOW and Shock Trooper 2 :)

  • Download NeoRagex 5, and you will get the exact game in this video. It is not the proper AES or MVS version as one:

There is no sound when the Neo Geo logo appears

and two, the graphics are smooth, using the smooth facility of NeoRagex 5.

Nice try, and pretty funny how everyone thinks it's real!

  • I'll buy Xbox360, if this title was ported to Xbox.

  • Has this game been ported to any other platform?

  • @Anayo

    Nop ^^

  • This must be the AES version???

  • I remember this game. You had to smash the buttons quickly and my fingers hurt. Specially with the blue triangle ship, the dullest of all, which didn't get any missile or smtg else useful as a power-up. Mi favorite was the green ship.

  • If you hit the shoot-botton faster your shot will increase and be more powerfull. Hold also down the shoot botton before you take the yellow ring power up too score more points ;-)

  • YOU FAIL IT! YOUR SKILL IS NOT ENOUGH!

  • I came across this on ebay for like $700.

  • you beat it! LOL

  • I just love how fast pace this game is ::3

  • Blazing Star is such a fantastic game - I had this game and a few other hundred roms for MAME - and then my hard drive crashed - Oh well, at least I had lots of fun with those arcade classics.

  • I like how one of the bad guy ships gets crushed at 5:08. lol Also like it when the girl says, 'woo!' or is it 'phew!'?

  • @CruiseCntr So do I. I think that girl announcer in this game sounds awesome and it is a good touch to the game.

  • I love this game.

  • I love the music of the bosses!!

    It is the best game1!

  • I'm not suprised you paid a fortune for this, fair play, it's really an wonderful looking game. Was this considered to be an incredibly rare title?

  • @MENDEZ1628 Its definitely a fantastic looking game Paul!

  • yep

  • Gorgeous looking game! I can imagine this to be an expensive title pick-up.

  • I've payed AES version 500€ (~700$)

    :°D

  • MY best pilot's CASTER , LEEFA & NAOMI.Y

great game i remember me playing in arcade jajaja

  • the best shooter in neo geo with the worst end

  • I LOVE how this game has a GLOOMY feel to it. NEO GEO 4 LIFE!

  • de que sirve el angel???

  • You can stricken once by ennemy fire without die ;)

  • GET IT MORE!

  • WATCH OUT! THE BIG ONE IS CLOSING IN!

  • Why is the Final Boss a baby/infant?

  • YOUR SKILL... WAS IT ENOUGH?

  • para ke vean, neo geo se la rifa para los videojuegos

  • This Game has given us the one thing that unifies gamers throughout all consoles, all games and all levels...

    The term fail

  • este juego es una masa

    buenisimo

    mortal y adictivo *o*

  • ese si era un juego de naves

  • Best. Schmup. Ever!! I own a converted cart!!!

  • The graphics were a bit bland due to heavy pixilation, then again so did most games which used the CG rendering style. Thankfully companies like Capcom went back to the more vivid hand drawn art.

  • I still have a Neo Geo system! I bought it at a Goodwill for 15 dollars and it works perfectly! I miss the golden age of gaming! When it wasn't about how powerful a system was and downloadable content! A system was judged by the library of superior titles it had! I miss arcades being the showcase for games you would play later that year. Well, this is a cool game right here. Sorry to go into a nostalgic rant just then!

  • Yes but Neo Geo helped to get what you despise started. When it came out in 1990 it was about $700 and yes it really was that expesive because it was the most powerful system at the time. Each game was $199.00 and up which makes PS3 titles look cheap. I know this because my father was a gamer and he bought this system when it first came out.

  • Hi, kirgeez, it's been a while! Ya know, I guess I hadn't thought about that. I love the games Neo-Geo had to offer, but I hadn't really thought about their responsibility in taking gaming out of it's golden-age.

  • The 16-bit systems is the birth from where heavy advertising was done about system capabilities. Neo-Geo constanly boasted about being Bigger, Badder, Better while comparing sprite and sound rendering abilities to other consoles. No one cared about bits or anything of the sort until that generation. I owned a Neo Geo in 1990. I can pretty much guarantee that the price is what killed it.

  • Yeah, that's another aspect I had forgotten about. Damn, why can't it just be about the GAMES anymore? Thanks for your reply, Snapscape!

  • Though I'd have to give the 32-bit era credit for creating the dreaded fanboy. Bits were a new thing to the 16-bit gaming public. In my console years people just played the games for what they were and not for what system they were for. If the users today think their systems kick so much ass, they would be spending less time comparing system specs and more time playing. This is why I quit console gaming. I couldn't talk about my favorite games without someone bashing the system it was on.

  • You are definately right about that! There is so much PS3 vs. Xbox 360 shit on YT it gets annoying! I'm like, "What about the games people?" Many people on here say a game sucks just 'cause of the system it's on. I still continue with my console gaming. I am a member of an old-school gaming club here in Dallas. It's just a bunch of older guys that get together to play arcade classics and older console games.

  • The irony is that the companies who started the system spec wars are the same ones who later suffered for it. Sega's "blast processing" and Nintendo's "mode-7" gimmick ads were the start of it all, and though Nintendo is doing well this generation, they hurt through the years after the SNES. Though I'm against emulation in terms of piracy, I'm grateful that it has preserved the "golden age of gaming". Now it's the "diaper age" filled with whiny fanboys. Thankfully some of us remain true gamers.

  • I'm with you on that!! I too am against emulation. However, I will admit to resorting to it to play a few classics that were never released on console. Capcom's Alien vs. Predator and the Dungeons and Dragons beat 'em games to name a few. I prefer and enjoy going to old discount and thrift stores to find cartridge-based games. I do feel that just because a company boasts about it's system's abilities does not mean gamers should buy into the hype. What happened to all the fun in gaming?

  • Good thing is that Nintendo reached back to their roots. Instead of making just another expensive powerhouse, they focused on the aspects that made gaming fun and affordable. This humble approach resulted in the Wii. Hopefully this successful example will shift gaming into a new direction and kill off these system power whores. Here's to hoping.

  • Yeah! Who knew that that little system would become such a hot item!! I'm glad one of the titans of console gaming had the sense to stop and say, "Hey, what are we doing?" "Shouldn't gaming be about fun?" It's great to make technological strides, but developers must keep the enjoyment of the consumer in mind first!

  • Violence sells. This is what both console manufacturers and game developers decided to focus on as being fun and in doing so they severed a major age group. With all that power under the hood, who'd want to waste it on a game like Pokemon?

  • @rang3r34 Why would you be against emulation? Those carts or arcade boards don't last forever. If it weren't for emulator's like MAME, most games would vanish forever in time. It's the only sure way to preserve them.

  • @Radwar99 Well, I'm not against it per se..What I mean is I'm kinda old fashioned and like to play on an original system whith the original games. I will use emulators to play games that never made it to console of games the never came to the US. I do understand fully your argument about game preservation.

  • oh man I wish I had a NeoGeo

  • download MAME

  • this gME IS FUN

  • very nice gameplay

  • Why is the sound off?

  • Yes my speakers are on... I mean the pitch. Is this through an emulator?

  • as I played this game I already got to the last stage. it was very difficult, but thanks to my friend that knows every move at the last stage. the last stage is where you will be fighting with a "fetus baby" yes!! a fetus baby that has all super guns. lol and shoots as many as it can.. freakky baby though lol

  • I miss this game. it was a fun and intertaining. although its just a fancy 2d game it was so good to play...

  • this is the closest thing to Gradius 5... though blazing star is true 2D.

  • am going to get a neo geo with blazing stars :)

  • One of my favorite games of all the time.

  • Yes, same here. But Blazing Star is more than just one of my favorit game of all time. Blazing Star is total perfection and total beauty....

  • i played this on gametap

its pretty fun, just insanely hard past stage 3.

I think windina is really good.

  • as a player of this game I always use windina. it looks like a crap shoe and slow to move but really good to use.

as it charge and release the charge I can split the charges into small charge that's like torpedo. it knows it's target... really cool

  • Neat graphical effect for the backgrounds of level 2. I didn't think the Neo Geo was capable.

  • I have this game on AES Conversion.. was expensive , but alot cheaper than an original game ! Awesome game !

  • hehe I did too! Yeah I looked up an original cart and I saved about $400 dollars xD.

  • For me, the neo is the best console that´s ever been made. The developers of the games sre real artists. There aren´t such games anymore....

  • Your totally right i love my Neo..

I've had & sold other systems, but i'd never get rid of the Neo there's just something unique & magical about it..

A world away from the machines of today, which all seem a bit bland to me.

  • Absolutely!

I am also proud of my games collection.

  • Amen Brother. *Hugs AES*

  • Virtual Console it... NOW, oy!

  • 2 processors, 16 bit and 8 bit. Google it asap. Check out the new geo specs on google.

  • its 24 bit not 16 o.k buddy.

  • Neo Geo was actually 16 bit, just very advanced 16 bit.

  • One 16-bit CPU with 2 8-bit CPUs as a matter of fact.

  • Neo Geo had a 16/32 Motorola 68000 main processor running at 12 MHz and an 8 bit ZiLOG Z-80A coprocessor running at 4 MHz.

    2 processors- not 3.

  • actually the neo geo had 2 propogandrial processors with proportional multifunctioning disco chips surrounded by 7 anticlimatic solidifiers. That's what biled it a 24 bit system capable of having it's greatest fighting games transferred to the ps2. Although it did have 12 MHz it also had 160 mph in 1.6 seconds to be exact. Next time do your homework

  • You're right. It had two processors that when added up surpassed 16 bits, but that's not how CPU power is determined- just like how the Turbografx 16 was actually an 8-bit system even though it had 2 8-bit processors. The amount of increased multitasking that can be done gives the illusion of more power.

  • I always love these arguements about the Neo's Specs, It's actually 16-bit.

  • Who cares really? Neo Geo is awsome period.

  • The final boss is quite freaky.

  • Decent game, I found the gameplay enjoyable but I wish there were an option to mute the announcer voice.

  • @valcaron What's wrong with that? I like her voice.

  • the best shooter on neo geo and i lobve the game

  • Probably one of the prettiest Neo Games out there.

  • i love this, 16 bit glory days!

  • Awesome game. One of the best shooters ever. Still enjoy playing it sometimes.

  • Awesome game. One of the best shooters ever. Still enjoy playing it sometimes.

  • Okay I think I finally understand why Neo Geo is more powerful than SNES.

It could handle so many frames of animation it doesn't need Mode 7 for the rotation in it.

  • This is my favorite Neo-Geo game (and my favorite Shooter/Shmup too)

All the pilots appear in the Intro

    00:20/00:22 = Caster (Hellhound)

    00:34/00:36 = Leefa (Windina)

    00:47/00:48 = JB (Aryustailm)

    00:49/00:51 = Kaoru (Dino 246) & Naomi (Dino 135)

00:53/00:55 = Asayuki (Peplos) [my favorite videogame character :) ]

The name "Asayuki" means "Morning Snow" in japanese.

  • Just got this on MVS for my cab at home :)

  • just bought the aes version, god am I happy!

  • LUCKY.

  • Seems like a pretty good shooter...

  • This is Blazing Star, not Last Resort

  • OMFG!!

Sorry about this!! Video title edited ;)

  • Blazing Star is the Sequel of Pulstar (an R-Type clone)

  • Sorry for my poor 15fps capture :)
