It's a mix of pneumatics and X10 and some basic microprocessors. Basically they come up and ring the doorbell, I hit a button and that turns out all the lights and starts a timer. When the timer is up it sends power to the coffin which is programmed to do the slamming. It sounds way harder than it is. Start searching for Halloween props how-tos on Google and you'll find TONS of info.
