Who can blame her? I don't think it's more than alcohol or weed (they have admitted to have consumed both before shows), and that "light" stuff only can make you so free at times... And this was just so free and orgasmic.

@superads91 You're right. It's her art and she can take it where ever she wants to. Sometimes it's awesome when a performer gets all absorbed and possessed, this particular performance was just a little too greasy and junky for me though. "Love is a Place" deserves better. Emily's dress really gives off a "The Shining" vibe as well, which doesn't help. (Even though she normally has incredible style!)

Emily Haines is great live, can't you see the passion in her performance. Who cares if someones singing is a little off at times. I'm sure if she was standing still it could be just like the recording, but no one goes to a show to see a like the record performance

It's all stylistic choice.

That's what sets a band apart from other bands, and a live experience from a studio one.

I can also see where you're coming from, however. But not the angle to where she should try to change.

considering how old this video is, I agree with you 100%. However, watch the Coachella '08 videos and I think you'll agree with me when I say they've really matured as a band
