  • So amazing that something so small can provide enough thrust to get that wonderful plane off the ground... =)

  • @lazydayhohum 100kg of thrust in a plane that has what... 300kg? considering that the me262 was a 6 ton aircraft and had an engine only 8 times as powerful as this and nowhere near the wing loading of this :) i find it a great idea to mount one of these on a glider... i just wonder how does that jet wash interfere with the controll surfaces

  • I dont get the combination of a jet engine with a glider. Worst combination possible. In the velocity range of a glider the jet engine has the worst energy conversion efficiency from all possible engines. Any piston/propeller combination is at least 10 times more fuel efficent. Then the immense noise which is also a major NO in these times. There are much better options for motorizing a glider like the front electric sustainer

  • @DerOldHerr agreed... least efficient and noisiest solution... kinda like the V12 in a car... same reason too tho :P most fun with your pants on you can have in a glider!

  • Whats amazing about jet engines is the amount of power they produce from such a small engine for aircraft like this. YOu could go on holiday around the world on something like this and it would only be a case of having to stop for refueling

  • should split the tail

  • It is really wonder of technology! You did very nice job!

  • empresario garcia assuncao representante desta empresa no brasil

  • Nice!

  • A mini U2!

  • wow..very small engine ..can carry a man/metal flies so kool..very nice vid..thanx poster.

  • Any chance modifying a BD5 from a 1 to a 2 seater plane with this engine?

  • wow- That's cool!

Can you throttle up and down or are you stuck at one speed?

  • Brilliant! Good-bye aerotows.

  • Very slick test run! Nice....

  • Very good characteristics, actually better than the old VW aircooled we are flying...

What is the cost of such a project? (Keeping in mind the Blanik is already equiped with motor pedestal).

  • Well done video, nice music choice as well!

  • Its seems to me that the wings are a little swept foreward, why is this?

  • That's because it's a two seater.

The wings connect behind the canopy, so that the second man (usually the instructor) has good visibilty.

To allow the center point of gravity to be more forward, the wings a swept slightly forewards.

  • sounds logical, thx

  • It's actually for reduction of tip stall making the aircraft more unlikely to drop a wing and therefore enter a spin.

  • looks like a blanik on aerotow to me. just without the towplane.

  • The TJ 100 A is an improved modification of TJ 100 C engine designed for UAV, UCAV, experimental aircraft and motorized gliders. The engine is characterized by compact design, excellent thrust/weight ratio and low fuel consumption at its power category. The conception of this engine is classical with radial compressor and annular combustion chamber, axial turbine and fixed output nozzle. Integrated starter-generator is enabling the reliable starting by battery 24V.

  • what does thet tj100a cost

    us dollars

  • @Zorrinoman

Very nice modern design – what's the specific fuel consumption?

I think the TJ 100 has a full-pressure lubrication system

but is it a full-loss deal like many of the microturbines?
