First of all, the Kaaba is a meteorite. The primitive tribes during archaic periods started believe it to be sent from God. Worshipping or kissing any object as an act of spirituality is a pagan practice. As a rationalist, I must say, Islam is a religion of confusion. Imagine if Obama were to marry a 9 year old. @Dangelooo Actually, kissing the black stone is not an obligation, this is just a way of salutating it and beginning the tawaf, muslims can also salute it simply by raising the hands and saying "in the name of god: God is the greatest". It is reported that Umar followed the prophet and kissed it as did the prophet, and after he said to the stone: "O stone, I know u're nothing but a stone, if my prophet did not kiss you I would not have done so."
