Hi, great playing!!! I enjoy all your videos and I think you are a very expressive and natural performer. I like your selection of pieces, those are melodies that I have always loved. The only thing I wanted to clear out is that this melody was composed by Gonzalo Roig at the beginning of the XX century, Leo Brouwer just made the arrangement for guitar years later. It's a common mistake and most people think Brouwer compose this and also the "Afrocuban Lullaby"(publishers mistake)
The original was composed by GONZALO ROIG, NOT LEO BROUWER. The original is a cuban art song, not a "folk theme". Maybe Brouwer arranged it for guitar, but the rights belong to ROIG, NOT TO BROUWER.
Hey thanks for watching - The sound is not that great, I was just recording using my Mac's mike and I didn't plug in the Takamine. I know the guitarist you're talking about but name escapes me! I can usually memorize either from reading the score or just listening to it. It also depends on the piece. Merry Christmas!
You play well, and your beautiful to boot! A small bit a criticism, please dont take it the wrong way, but I hear a bit to much string noise when switching positions. Maybe its the strings? (hard tension?)
Hi! No problem at all, any criticism, suggestion, etc. very welcome! Partly I'd say the strings, high tension Savarez, partly I don't think I was playing as cleanly as I should have:-).
@wsmcasey13 I met Liona Boyd after a concert and asked her what strings and tension she used. Would you believe she said Savarez extra high tension. Shit that's what I've been using for many years. Now I can't blame my strings. lol
Hi! I learn all music by ear so I don't use transcriptions...but as you said, I've been asked tablatures a lot so now I've got to work on them:-). I will have them ready soon but in the meantime if you google the title of the piece and the composer, I'm sure you'll find the transcription, maybe even for free. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! But I definitely need some work on the technique, expecially this piece. If I replied to you already, my apologies, it just that sometimes the "replies" to comments don't seem to work.
Very well played...I just never got into Leo Brouwer's pieces...His pieces dont stir up the feelings that the traditional classical guitar pieces give me.
I know, isn't it fascinating how different pieces generate different emotions, or none at all for that matter... it's all in the individual experience of who listens. It's the same in visual art, I think.
I want YOU for my teacher.

This beautiful old cuban song, was written by cuban composer Gonzalo Roig, author of many songs and zarzuelas. Leo Brower did the guitar arrengement.

Always loved this crazy little piece. Great chromatic runs in it.

Very nice - Brouwer would have enjoyed that I'm sure. Strange guitar for such a nice performance but nonetheless excellent execution. =)

Actually "Brujos" is not used as a noun, but as an adjective... so it's more like... Sorcerer eyes?

@DonPortulinus Yes, "sorcerer's eyes is more accurate. Thanks for watching!
