  • obama dismantled the millitary by .... doubling the number of soldiers in afghanistan?

The gop following has been disillusioned with the constant propaganda and extreme views of this party (constant reference to stalin and hitler.) I think the more moderate republican base has partly lost respect for the party which has slowly become the party of no. Combine that with the massive dump that GWB left and there is no come back to be had in my opinion.

  • Those looking to have the Republican Revolution should look what the last one did. Two wars, incapable of defending from 9/11, losing a City due to a hurricane you knew was coming for days... economical collapse.... etc.

  • CONGRESS, WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND YOU either pass federal reserve reform legislation or have your asses thrown out in 2010 BARRY, SHOW US OUR MONEY LITMUS TEST 2010 THIS IS AN EMERGENCY- 10 TRILLION OF OUR DOLLARS ARE MISSING PASS HR1207 FEDERAL RESERVE TRANSPARENCY ACT AND S604 FEDERAL RESERVE SUNSHINE ACT OR HAVE YOUR ASS THROWN OUT IN 2010 WE MUST HAVE YOUR ANSWER BY 04 JULY NO MORE SPENDING UNTIL WE AUDIT THE FED
  • Both parties lie, cheat, and steal from all of us, they are all crooks, all want to grow government and tax us to death and print money without any checks or balances, We are all fucked with all these bastards in government that really could care less about you and I. FUCK REPUBLICRATS AND THE DEMACANS, all they care about is keeping power and growing government. Wake up people! one party isnt any better than the other, they just take turns bending us over.

  • I want what you're smoking Infoe

  • This guy is either retarded, or in a very strong state of denial! The Specter switch shows a weakened and more radically conservative republican party. The fact that moderates are being criticized or leaving the party is indication that the republicans are only excepting extreme conservatism and think that being moderate is too liberal.

  • More rhetoric and baseless talking points from sour - pussed, impotent republicans. They always seem to subscribe to whatever the propaganda of the day is and vote against their own best interests. Hmmm. It seems to be the same relationship they have to their sorry assed bibles.

  • Spoken like a true heathen,

  • What are all the "indicators" he's talking about?? He never says. Hmmmm

  • So delusional! This science-denying CongressCritter needs a checkup from the neck up.

  • This guy smokes more crack than Amy Weinhouse.

  • The Chicken-Little Gang, (Congress), is the problem. Same with mavericks and politicians, neither can go in the same direction. I say we guide them out.

    Study, communicate, and Vote!

  • Lets hope we elect actual conservatives, not Bushites.

  • God help our nation the idiots are in control their stupidity has become a pandemic crisis, its sad.

  • Democratic Party, Republican Party ... The party doesn't matter much, but what does matter? His views and goals. Are they liberal or conservative? He probably did switch to the democratic party, but if his views are still mostly conservative, he's still a conservative. However, it's so hard to call any politician conservative anymore, because they all lean towards the left these days to save face. If you show even the slightest hint of a conservative view, you get blasted like Miss California.

  • this is the rationale of desperation!

  • whatever you may think of spector, and whatever your political affiliation , you could not possibly believe that him leaving the party is a sign of better times to come tfor the GOP. that's just stupid.

  • My 6 year old is more logical discussing politics/...

  • Oh, Senator, Senator...you magnificent bastard you! PLEASE find an occassion EVERY day to speak in front of a camera somewhere! With you, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity et al speaking on behalf of the GOP, it is foreseeable that that won't be a Republican Party within a decade....

  • I wonder how that switch is working out for Senator Jeffords.? Anyone hear from him lately? For the scorekeepers among us, the Republicans are still vastly ahead in numbers of those who have switched from Democrat to Republican. The Republicans should let not allow themselves to be held hostage to the heckler's veto offered up by the likes of Specter. Not to mention those two from Maine. As well as the Senator from Arizona.

  • Specter, should be removed from office.

His state voted him in as a Dem. and now he changes party for a half-ass reason. You voted in Obama for a change and we still have the same thing, Big Government spending money we don't have.

  • Delusional much? How about the more logical reason, he switched to a more powerful party because he wanted to keep his seat, he knew if he stayed as a republicunt he'd lose.

  • bush was the setup man and barry is the closer. for team "federal reserve"

  • Stay strong Republicans!

The 21% of people in this country that carry your cards WILL make a comeback! The South will rise again or whatever.

There are absolutely zero similarities to 1994. What an embarrassment.

  • The Repubics are dreaming,, finally the American people have woken up to the stupidity of their mistakes, and the these retard idiots still with their heads up their bottoms. it is as when you leave your teens behind and you realize all the stupid things you did, the republicans are like the teens that refused to grow up, they keep screwing up until some will be sleeping at the park, dreaming of what could've been.

But still not knowing where they went wrong.

  • Umm... Excuse me, Democrats wrote and signed in the laws that allowed the adjustable rate mortgages that caused the mortgage companies to finance those that couldn't afford it. Democrats are the ones that bog down our troops so they have to fight a political war when war is hell. And Obama is the one that is killing the moral of our military and our intelligence agencies. Democrats are also the ones that won't accept bank repayments. Who are the idiots? Wake-up and smell the Vodka Comrade!

  • Sorry, I went to public schools that are run by liberals so my spelling is not grade - A. That should have been "morale".

Democrats are the ones that decided we should dumb-down our schools so that when a child is a difficult case to deal with, we label him or her and throw them in "Special Classes" instead of dealing with them individually.

Democrats are the ones that ashamed of the history of the United States to the point of not teaching it like it should be.

  • This Republican party bears an uncanny resemblance to the Black Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail. Arrogant, mouthy, delusional - and mortally wounded.

  • Rofl. This is a great example of "seed speak". Say it and hopefully the seeded rumor fools all the masses briefly and quickly enough for a coup.

It never fails to disgust me how the republican party can be so out of touch and tasteless in their marketing.

  • That's some pretty tortured logic.

  • Arlen is a Warren Commission single bullet traitor and should be dragged to court for what he did to JFK, the American people and the office of the president of the US

  • ahahaha such a twist of logic

  • Specter flip-flopped for personal career advancement and admits it just like he did years ago when he flipped from the democrats to the republicans.

Pa voters are smart and won't vote for him due to this change. He is toast.

  • Jim Inhofe, is your "evidence" of GOP revival the same evidence you had that Global Warming was a left wing plot! You know what, its probably even better.

Ignorance is such bliss, isn't it Jimmy!!

  • The EVIDENCE shows that moderate republicans (like Specter) are abandoning the Republican party because the GOP has become crazier and crazier.

The level of self-delusion is mind boggling! People are leaving the party, and that shows the party is succeeding??

I live in PA, and Toomey has NO chance in PA. The only people in Specter's way were the crazy republicans who vote in the primary. Not anymore.

These people are so crazy, and they keep getting crazier. Wow.

  • Clinton was great for the U.S.. Then the Rep. came in a f-ucked it all up:(

  • ....Down at 21% ?....did he just wake up???

  • HELLO!! When Clinton was in office gas was less than $1/gallon and the economy was booming!! Ya think he might have made some good choices? Dumb ass!

  • The president has nothing to do with the price of gas. Your the dumbass.

  • On the contrary YOU'RE the dumbass!! F*cking idiot!! Learn English!!

  • Someone should wash your mouth out with soap you old hag!!

  • Hey Jedi040. Dont waste your time explaining the facts to Democrats. They are a bunch of bloodsuckers and freeloaders. They are all riding in the wagon while we pull it.

  • This is what you call political spin!

  • Inhofe talks about "all the indicators are there" to envisioning a GOP revolution by 2010, yet he can't see indications of global climate change? This guy has got his head buried so far up his own arse, the only thing he's seeing is his own bowel movements coming down the pipe.

  • I'm from PA, and the portion of the Republican party that Specter needs to win the primary (i.e. reasonable people) all switched to Dem.

I'm very glad to have a choice between a liberal and a moderate to represent my state, and then watch the right wing fringe get crushed by the victor.

  • This is my LOL of the day. Everybody is leaving the cruise, GOP has the lowest popularity rating in history and yet : hey this is GOP comeback !

  • It's like a recovering drug addict: They gotta hit rock bottom, first.

  • Except for the fact that recovering drug addicts have to make dramatic changes in their lives before actually recovering. Do you see changes from the Republicans? They'll all be giving political BJ's for that proverbial crack in no time.

  • Melpheos1er---"GOP has the lowest popularity rating in history and yet : hey this is GOP comeback !"...

Don't forget ... a drowing person is said to sink and come back to the surface 3 times ... before going under for the final count !!

2006 Elections ... Their FIRST lose.

    2008 Elections ... Their 2ND lose.

    2010 Elections ... R.I.P.uplican Party...AMEN!!

  • Going after the some of the people who can be fooled all the time, I see.

  • "There's no place like home... There's no place like home..."

  • These slippery fucks will spin anything, won't they.

  • If thats not spin I dont know what is. Keep it up GOP

  • I'm from Oklahoma. I'm ashamed to have Inhofe representing me in anything.

  • Well at least this explains the Republican's behavior, they are completely deluded from reality

  • You're only realizing this NOW?

  • "There's no place like home... There's no place like home..."

  • "There's no place like home... There's no place like home..."

  • Specter's competition was a Democrat though... How is a Democrat being higher than him in the polls signaling a critical election? Just talking right out of his butt, this man is. Pitiful, really.

  • No hes talking about Toomey, a rightwing Republican whos running for Specter's seat and looked like he'd beat Specter in the primary...now that hes a Democrat Specter will kick Toomey's ass in the General election

  • D.E.N.I.A.L.

can you spell that James from Oklahoma?

  • Good riddance, Arlen Sphincter, you sell-out!

  • Wow, this is what you call revolutionary philosophy. I bet this guy drives a custom built lamborgini gallardo with a hybrid engine and racing package...well, thats what he calls it.. some naysayers call it a 87 ford escort

  • HHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

This guy is a COMEDIAN. He had me rolling!

  • Is this guy serious? Suddenly Republican are redefining conventional wisdom, black is white & white is black. I think Rep. are depressed & lost.

  • Comeback my arse!

  • This guys so dam lost. They rebelled in 94 because of Gingrich or whatever his name is made the contract with America and Clinton did not come off of a Bush administration. Republicans had every branch of government for 6 of the 8 years and we all got to see pure republican philosophies exercised and i must tell you, no ones going back to that. Republicans are bailing from the party faster then shit, more as voters then as officials.

  • YOU'RE SWIMMING IN A RIVER OF DENIAL

  • ROFL, there are no words to describe how dumb this guy is!

  • Toomey is a douchebag. Specter as Dem will smoke him like a macanudo.

  • The so-called Rebublican revolution, in 1992 Dem Bill Clinton won the presidency, in 1994 GOPers become majority in congress, in 1996 DEMOCRAT BILL CLINTON gets re-elected, in 2000 REPUBLICANS STOLE THE PRESIDENCY... this is their idea of a comeback ! They are in complete denial if they can't see that what's really happening is that Americans are more open and the GOP is being controlled by the far right, and the electorate has changed.

  • This black eye is PROOF that I'm a great fighter!

  • swine flu is bush's fault too

  • this guy is INSANE

  • They ought to drug test his dumb ass, he's got to be smoking crack.

  • ROFL

  • Good. I am glad they feel this way. Keep them thinking like this is good for the country because they will never be winning another election.

  • Apparently Inhofe sees Republican polarization further to the right as some sort of rally. Specter switched because he's too moderate to win a Republican primary these days, but could easily beat whoever won their nomination in the general election. His constituency isn't going to vote for a radical Republican to represent them. Hopefully this is a rally for moderate politicians to help this country find its center again.

  • The GOP has walked away from any kind of logic, reasoning, and actual work and gone to a smear campaign.

  • gun control yes

  • any thing to win

  • what reality is this guy living in.....

  • WHAT?????

The Republicans have lost every election since 2006. Every special election. Every regular election.

What the hell is this moron talking about?

  • LOL!! Republicans are a bunch of ignorant malcontents, who can be worked into a frenzy about anything. They simply can't live with the reality that they lost the election so badly. Their desperation has lead them to look increasingly insane. Their divorce from reality and retreat into the political netherland of subjective hate and fear, runs counter to the direction of the conciousness of our country. These Palinesque optics will lead them to a major defeat in 2010 and 2012. Life is beautiful.

  • Specter returning to the Democrat party is fine. He will lose a whole lot of support - the Republicans that voted for him because of the R behind his name.

He no longer stands out. In the Democrat party, he is just one more socialist/communist stooge.

  • @solly7

It's the democraTIC party you illiterate dunce, as a Penn senatory you can either have a moderate like Specter or a liberal. Toomey is a joke.

  • Hello person from last generation that should understand what socialist and communist mean but don't # 34,601 today on youtube.

  • Imhofe is on crack

  • Here's to hoping that Spector evolves after his party switch. Also, Mr. Inhofe, people are rebelling, but they're now rebelling against people like YOU!

  • HA, it ain't gonna happen!

  • These Republican´ts are WAKO!!!

  • Ok i'm open to new ideas, but the republicans are not winning a senate seat in Pa. anytime soon, so exactly how is losing Arlen Specter to the Democrats a demonstration of a GOP comeback in 2010. Moreover, what is the Republican platform, and what is it's relavency in 2009 (because that's the date on my calendar) What in hell is the GOP doing to get this country out of the recession that it got us into???

  • (because that's the date on my calendar)

    ziiing!

  • So spector switches to the dems? Just goes to show the world how they are snakes. Fook them, don't vote for them ever.

  • this moron doesnt seem to realize that whats changing is his party. specter switched because he couldnt win against the far right thats left in pennsylvania, but could win as a dem by a LANDSLIDE in the general against a republican. thats NOT a comeback by any measure.

  • uuuuuuuuhhhh......HUH?!

  • evidence?

  • This is the problem with Republicans. They're living in the past. Barack Obama is not Bill Clinton. This is not 1993.

  • Phil Gramm jumped from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party to save his ass too.The difference is Spector is not a sos like Gramm was, is.

  • Inhofe is delusional.

The party of No hasnt a chance in 2010.

  • You're dreaming pal.

  • Wow super spin city. Im going to save this clip until winter of 2010 lets see if this ends up being another NY-20 scenario where the Republicans are confident of winning and take a hard loss.

  • A venerable member of the GOP leaves the party, and this is good news for the GOP? Alright, you folks just keep telling yourselves that.

  • Damn! It's all over Progressives. We had our 100 Days and now we better back off.

Geez, keep telling yourself that people leaving the GOP is good for you. LOL!

  • No way! A republican saying, it's not us, its them. On Faux News even. Meaningful.

  • Inhofe is still presenting authoratative studies proving cigarette smoking does not cause cancer.

  • and still thinks torture didn't happen and global warming is a left wing conspiracy theory

  • Both parties are corrupt

  • inhofe is the craziest of the crazy, but i don't disagree with the idea that a party does well to flush out the phonies and turncoats in its ranks.

If we had a sensible, more-than-just-two-party system in this country, that'd be a little more obvious.

  • I hope the Independent Party rises up to take the Republican party's slot in the two party system....or we will be looking at a one party system for decades to come. It's time for the Progressives to move up in the political arena. The GOP will crumble on itself.

  • He is right to think that Specter leaving the GOP is a good thing for the GOP. That man is way to tired and old for what is coming. He is just trying to survive.

  • "hat man is way to tired and old for what is coming."

'tired and old' sounds like the core GOP constituency!

  • I don't understand his point. A Republican Senator realizes he doesn't want to be with the Republican party anymore and becomes a Democrat. How does that prove the Republicans are coming back?

Unless of course that guy is making a nonsensical political statement.

  • It's called happy horse-shit.

Say it enough times, and it'll come true.

  • I think they may have finally achieved a permanent majority. For the Democrats.

  • Republicans will never come to power again. The freeloaders have taken over. These dummies have been won over by the Democrats who promise them anything to stay in power.

  • Who gave the GOP back their Magic 8 Ball?! No more predictions from Miss Cleo here or the rest of the herd. Haven't we had enough of Republican predictions (WMDs, Iraq, Afghanistan)?

  • Comment removed

  • My head hurts now make it STOP!! *runs away screaming*!!!

  • About time that rino left. He knew he was going to be beat in the primary. Now how about the other 2 from Maine.

  • I think even the faux noise hacks interviewing him think he's delusional

  • yes is no, up is down, right is left, green means stop, red means go.....such is life as a republicunt

  • My God, I feel stupider just for having listened to this idiot.

  • 21% of the US electorate are republicans lowest in history. This man is fucking delusional. These guys sit around in a circle jerk, bullshitting how great they are, and don't realize what complete failures they are

  • and when clinton left he left a budget surplus you twit. Damned Republican criminals.

  • teh stupid!! it burns!!!

  • Watching the GOP is like watching someone have an awkward and dramatic stumble. Hilarious.

Can't wait till those Airheads throw another Teabagging party. LOL. They don't even realize how funny they are.

"I care about the deficit becuz of my kid's future !" (Says the Teabagger who leaves global warming in "God's hands"). HAHahaha

  • "Watching the GOP is like watching someone have an awkward and dramatic stumble. Hilarious."

You mean like when Pee Wee Herman flies over the handlebars of his bike, and they says "I meant to do that?" I agree.

  • Not as good as the Laugh In reference, but not bad either.

  • fox news is the "laugh-in" of this age.

  • Well Brit Hume sure reminds me of that phegmatic fake news caster that Pat Paulson used to play on Laugh In. And Glenn Beck is that little Artie Johnston Nazi that peaks out from the bushes and says "verrrry interestink." There are similarities to be sure.

  • lol. Nice one.

    Goooodnight Lucy....

  • him and the other one from TX are among the 9 ( out oof all the congress) that voted to try to make torture ok in the USA he is nothing more that BUsh-Cheney door mat , and that aint much

  • comedy gold!

  • Talk about wishful thinking. I don't even understand how he could all those different things together so they could even appear to be connected.

Arlen left because he felt he wasn't getting any backing from his own team.

  • LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO LMAO. The Republicans' Epic FAIL Continues.

They haven't even seen the half yet. Their Fail is just getting started.

Meanwhile the DEMs are about to enter their Golden Age.

  • I wonder if Inhofe believes his own bullshit.

  • This just keeps getting better. And I want a daily 2 hour press release of Bachmann talking points. I could watch it after the Daily Show.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHaHaHaHaHahahahahaha....

    Thanks, I needed that.

  • George Bush's budgets totalled over 12 trillion dollars. Why are Republicans complaining about a 3.2 trillion budget that cut taxes for most of the country and halves a 1.3 trillion dollar annual deficit. George Bush spent trillions and it doesn't seem like the American people got anything back. At least with Obama people are getting a tax cut, some repaired infrastructure and hopefully a revamped healthcare system.

  • I second all your words here. Brilliant Kudos

  • Time stands still for these guys. Nothing improves, nothing advances, society doesn't grow and standards can't change. I truly believe there is a vaccuum seal on the thought processes of leaders today. Not just republicans but democrats alike. As fast as the world we know (younger generations) has changed they tried to stand still. Let go of the bike-that's what the pads and helmet is for!

  • Oh I see now,

They are winning by lossing one senator?

    awesome, we like this stratety.

Michael Steele you be the man.

  • GOP = A Party by the morons and for the morons.

  • HAhahahaahah these people are fucking delusional

  • It's all part of Michael Steele's elaborate chess game, and the dems are losing.

  • Mike Steele is smoking out all the fake republicans so pretty soon they will have a pure party with 15% of the electorate :) What a genius!

  • LOL.."Obama is doing the same thing as Clinton in 1993"...what's that? Putting us back on course to have economic growth that provided a surplus after receiving a record deficit from a president named Bush makes it 1993??? If so, that's awesome....I'm gonna go listen to some Nirvana and watch Michael Jordan while artfully tailoring some facial hair.

  • Where the hell does the Clinton myth come from? He did nothing but sign everything the Republicans sent him while selling us out to China. The only growth from the Clinton years came from companies automating and laying off employees. Some hero.

  • Clinton was decent but also a clumsy centrist (by necessity). We've got a much better deal right now but the republicans have certainly made me appreciate Clinton

  • Bush was a freaking nightmare but the country replaced him with someone willing to continue every policy of Bush that was a disaster. Hell even I would prefer Clinton over what we have now.

  • Ah but you see that is only true from the massively deluded viewpoint of a Alex Jones watching libertopian loon, not to us down to earth normal liberals or even batshit insane regular conservatives, who despise Obama but still secretly love Bush. To most of us the changes on healthcare, energy, diplomacy, and social progressives issues are fundamental thank you very much.

  • And you would prefer Clinton, despite probably the insane right wing rantings and ravings and anarchist McVeigh type conspiracy bullshit you've endured under him, because Clinton was a centrist. Probably the most centrist president we've had since Eisenhower. Clinton really wasn't a threat to anybody. As a result I like him more as a person than as a president because he wasn't much good to us progressives/liberals. Obama is a standard liberal, albeit a calm and reserved one.

  • You said it all!

  • If you don't know history you are doomed to repeat it. Textbook way to destroy a currency. Run up so much debt taxes can not fund the government and service the debt. Run huge budget deficits and increase the money supply. Works every time it has been tried. If you can explain to me how this can not end badly or find a historical example where doing this turned out to be a great idea I am listening.

  • @PASMdude

WW2, 120% debt. Economic growth a republican couldn't even dream of. I could also point to Reagan, who had lousy (well mediocre) econ growth by democratic standards (3.3%, only Carter has done marginally worse with 3.0%) but still the highest of any republican since the fake great depression bubble growth of Coolidge. Yet Reagan more than tripled the public debt from 900 billion to 3.5 trillion while Obama will less than double it like Bush.

  • The key here is increasing the money supply which causes hyperinflation. The cost of the bailouts is 12.8 trillion dollars and that is 14 times the amount of US currency in circulation. Where is that money coming from and what will happen to inflation when it hits the economy? We are doing the exact same thing that destroyed the Wiemar republic in the past and Argentina recently. Our dollar sank like a rock against other currencies during Bush deficits. Tell me why that will not continue.

  • "The key here is increasing the money supply which causes hyperinflation. The cost of the bailouts is 12.8 trillion dollars and that is 14 times the amount of US currency in circulation"

What the hell kind of stupid arbitrary value are those? the cost of the bailouts have nothing(little) to do with the money in circulation! Most of that 12 trillion figure is insurance not money spend btw. We have a 14 trillion annual GDP, 12 trillion isn't being spend in a year.

  • "Tell me why that will not continue."

The real question is YOU tell me why that HAS not continued? WHY are we seeing deflation? Investors and currency speculators know these figures better than you do, why are we seeing DEFLATION for the first time in 50 years? the answer is obvious but it's your burden to explain it.

  • "Under the Bush deficits the dollar lost half its value against the Euro."

Don't play this childish deliberately obtuse game of faux correlations, since the spending binge began with the crashing economy the dollar has surged. So by your logic spending strengthens the dollar (not true but the same correlations).

  • To hear Obama talk, we should have horned our way into the EU and adopted the Euro as our currency. The EU was formed to compete with us and other super economic powers. It is ridiculous to think they would have let us derail them.

  • Now he's tying to get into the EU by turning the US into France!

  • The figures come from a Bloomberg article published recently. Google bloomberg 12.8 trillion and read it for yourself. We are seeing deflation because 70% of gdp is consumer spending and they are not spending. Do you know anything about how the money supply affects inflation with a completely fiat currency? If Obama is not deliberately destroying the dollar to pay debt back with worthless money that will be the effect anyway. It has been done before.

  • "12.8 trillion and read it for yourself." I already know the figure and I already explained that it's not spending for the most part but insurance. it also doesn't correlate directly to the 'money in circulation'.

"We are seeing deflation because 70% of gdp is consumer spending and they are not spending." You hit the nail on the head, the lack of consumer spending allows the current levels of government spending to be responsible (or even low as the deflation implies).

  • "f Obama is not deliberately destroying the dollar to pay debt back with worthless money that will be the effect anyway. It has been done before."

Current levels of spending are far less than Reagan and FAAAAR less then WW2 FDR spending and none of those things happened back then. Heck we didn't have the deflationary influences we have now under Reagan. The current spending is much more prudent than those two examples (though I will certainly excuse any WW2 spending).

  • During ww2 currencies were backed by metal. Now they are backed by consumer confidence. The world has no confidence in us right now. Why do they want a new reserve currency? Things are worse than you think in my opinion and the solution in my opinion is to convince the world we are going to get our budgets deficits under control to restore confidence in the dollar. Obama probably understands that but does not have the power to challenge the military industrial complex that is bankrupting us.

  • Creating stimulus from debt has a very poor track record. If the US sinks it will take the world with it so there are lots of reasons for the world to pretend the emperor has clothes right now and if anything saves us that will be the reason.

  • "Creating stimulus from debt has a very poor track record."

Yeah it only created the largest most long lasting economic boom in US history (base year 1933 or 1940 you take your pick).

  • What you are failing to take into account is our fiat currency. We are trying to print our way out of this recession and that has never worked. Increasing the money supply of a fiat currency devalues the currency. Google dollar divest and see how many countries are dumping our dollars. With imminent inflation coming from increasing the money supply why would any country want to hold dollars as a reserve currency? No longer needed to buy oil since about 2000.

  • "What you are failing to take into account is our fiat currency" xD where the fuck have I failed to take fiat currency into the account? I'm sorry it appears I have been having a debate on a whole different level than you! Do you honestly think 'fiat currency' is some fancy term that will impress me into submission? Because your non explanatory reference makes no sense at all!

  • You keep quoting successes from polices that worked under the gold standard. I am not trying to impress you with anything but trying to tell you 2009 is not ww2. There is a difference in inflation when the money supply of a fiat currency is increased. Do you deny that? The US had a fiat currency that worked called the greenback but it only worked because congress was in control of the money supply. We can't even get statistics on the money supply now.

  • @PASM

We had no Gold standard under Reagan and effectively we had no gold standard under FDR. The huge debts were not backed by gold.

  • "We are trying to
