  • Talk radio has not and never will be the same since this comic genius retired.

  • I remember hearing him interviewed soon after his last show. He was asked why he retired. His reply was simply Gary Burbank, “he said, because my head is empty.”

I will remember that always, how profound, ……think about it!

  • in google enter...gary burbank there are various sites and one is 'Gary Burbank on demand'. try that.

  • Does anyone know where I can find some of Gary's old sound bites like the "Sounds like a big kaplosion(BOOM!)", and the evangelist who ended his sentences with an exagerrated "Gaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwdddddd!".

  • @shelly10538 I remember the the good reverend too. Don't make me holler. Don't make me shout. Tuuuuurrrrn them pockets inside out! Don't make me holler. Don't make me scream. Reach in those pockets and pull out them greens!!!

  • I wonder where WLW is gonna find listeners now ? They lost me the day Gary retired. This reminds me of what you hear Willie preaching........whats right is wrong, and whats wrong is right. But what WLW did to Gary was wrong, and will stay wronged

  • I love me some Earl Pitts !!! As I am a night-owl woodcarver, I use to pick up a station in SC., that would play a segment every night. I have already stated I have sharp tools in my hands, and you hear... "you know what really makes me sick"', lets just say,I learned to put the knife down. . "Pitts Off" :(

  • I remember when Gary was in Louisville,

1st ar WAKY & then in the late '70s and

early '80s at WHAS. There was none better at making an afternoon as Gary.

Even after he moved up stream to Cincy,

he was close enough & WLW powerful

enough you could still get your afternoon

fix of Gary, as long as the weather was

good. Thank you Gary. American radio was much better because of you and

    you will be missed.

  • You know what makes me sick? That would be an awesome ringtone ;)

  • I remember Gary when he was on CKLW "The Big 8" in Detroit/Windsor (Ontario) back in the 70's. Loved his characters....Thelma Hooch, Bass Ackwards, Rev. Deuteronomy Skaggs..ah, those were the days!

Thanks Gary for the fun days...enjoy all that life has to offer!

  • My uncle is Rob Ervin, and because of that I got to meet everybody on the show and they're all great people, we'll miss ya gary

  • Gary Burbank is still the funnyest man in the world.

  • Where have all the funnies gone, long time passing .

  • No one can do it better than Gary Burbank!

You know what makes me sick? you know what makes me so angry I just want to suck peanut butter through a straw till my eyes cave in?-- They took this Great man off our local radio station just to put on talk shows that have nothing but bitterness to spew. Sure do miss ya Gary!.....A Lot! I believe that is why there is so much bitterness in our nation because the took away the fun and laughter of guys like Gary and gave us talk show jerks.

  • I couldn't agree more, Burbank is the best!

  • Here here Gueronva. When my son was around 6 years old he and I discovered Gary. We had some terrific afternoons playing sports or consequences. I cant remember how many times my son was blown up..."Cute kid" Miss you Gary

  • Mr. Bur-jank was the man. I'd say I listened almost daily for 12-15 years (starting in about '84). He even played one of my bits on his show back in the day. Classy guy...did it the way it should be done. All the best in retirement, Garish!

  • Does anyone have a tape of Gary doing a satire of "Highwayman"?

  • Thanks for all the laughs, Gary! Enjoy retirement with mom'n'em. I must be off!

  • Man, it's hard to imagine WLW, Cincinnati, or 3-6 pm without Gary. What a genius! Gary was the most humble man in radio. He made me laugh so hard so many times. Take care Gary, and have a great retirement! ...Bah!

  • I've been a fan since 1995. The Earl Pitts Bits I have on youtube are from 1996. As long as I can keep getting recordings I'm gonna keep doing videos. feel free to rate and comment.

  • gary and bill and all the other guys in my mind were the greatest radio broadcasting team in history wlw wont be the same. "we dont, we dont, we dont mess around"

  • Thank you Gary.

You will be missed, and Cincinnati radio will never ever be as good without you a part of it.

Thanks for the years of memories and laughs

    Thadd

  • I love you Garish, thanks for making all those days at work alot better. I'll miss you man.
