Nope. It was definitely the LN2. It had absorbed into porous potato slice. When Chris put it into his mouth - and on his tongue - it stuck. When he crunched down it tore away. And that's how he got a bloody tongue.
@TheSweetalchemist - don't put something that's absorbed liquid nitrogen directly into your mouth

My guess is that it was the sharp shards of potato chip that cut his tongue, rather than the LNG itself.
