I saw another video where the guy said the ridge cap doesn't need to be halked because the shingles will follow the roof line but you need to chalk for the hip. You would do it for both? Or the hip only?
I'm a DIY'er and I'm searching the Internet to locate how to replace the ridge shingles of my roof. I can't afford the $1000.00 est. I was given and I should be able to do it myself.
The video was very helpful. You went over the nail size, which is great, but do you add 4 nails to install each one? Why can't you use the same nail on the roof? Another video said the manufacturer has a line on the shigles that you're not to nail above. Does the apply when installing the ridge cap?
