@xmine08 i tried linux once, and it sucked! i didn't find a way to install programs or customizations at all. and uninstalling linux is pain in the ass... that piece of shit-operating system wouldn't let the windows xp disk start autorun... and the linux people from the forums didn't want to help me neither... they just told me that i should stick with linux 'cause it's so awesome! finally formatted my hard drive with another computer... what a relief. never installing linux again...
@potatojuice321 To install programs you use the repository manager on linux, its called software center afaik on ubuntu, and its damn easy to use. You can customize almost anything in the system. As example, look at KDE, much more customizable than windows' UI and IMO easier. But all of this depends on the user. If you want you can also try ubuntu in a virtual machine, if your computer can handle it. Myself, i use ArchLinux, which is even more customizable, but for advanced users

Well, you do know customer satisfaction is based on companies. Now PC's aren't just ONE company, so it makes complete sense that MAC's have satisfaction and customer support. They are probably the biggest single computer making company today.

Yes, so are windows machines. There's nothing you can't do on a PC, that you can do on a mac. There's amazing software for windows too. There's excellent software for both OS'. I have a PC that I do music editing and recording on. You could do the same quality on a mac, but it comes down to personal preference.

Macbook Pro's are what? 3 grand? Yeah...

Not really expensive, this computer I have cost 200$ USD with 64bit Windows 7. Macs are a lot more expensive, don't go all bullshit like it's more cost effective to buy a Mac, it's not. @13Kukis The Mac vs PC debate IS about the OS. But once and a while people do debate the hardware because the hardware is NOT the same either. For example, a lot of people on the Mac side with comment on the fact that PCs are made of plastic while Macs are made of aluminum. Or the keyboard keys, mouse, etc. Also, the OS on a Mac is fine-tuned to work with the hardware which is picked to run together where as Windows can put on any hardware.
Mac's are just Retard friendly pc's. Thats all. I on the other had know how to work a pc. and have only had 1 windows problem cause buy a virus. The only other time it was cause buy a failing HDD. The viruses on PCs are just one problem that, 10 years later, still lingers. And it's such a tiring story to blame the victim every time they get a virus. On my Mac, I can go on ANY site I want and install ANY program I want without worrying about viruses, malware, adware, spyware or any other ware you can think of.
And do you know why? Because people who write viriuses and spread them, want to hit the most people, and so they write it for pc's, Because most people own a pc. Why write a virius for a mac with a smaller fanbase when you can ruin all the pc's?

And even if you think that's too much, how come Mac users aren't reporting ANY viruses? Think about how much of a big deal it's become last week, that ONE malware program for the Mac. Not that it does anything except ask for your credit card info. On the PC a similar malware was stopping programs from starting up, running the background and slowing your PC.

I love macs..but this commercial isn't very strong in its claims. When installing windows 7 on top of a previous version of windows, you're not required to 'move' all your stuff as this video implies. The installation process simply creates a backup folder called 'windows old' and all your files are saved there and can be easily accessed once your new copy of windows is installed. So, weak ad, and weak point. There are however hundreds of good, strong, logical reasons to switch to a mac.
@sainidhruv07 Yep, my move from XP pro to Window 7 pro was my easiest yet. Pretty much a 'set is and forget it', and my file structure was fine, even most of my programs made the trip!
On a side note, I think, smarmy attitude aside, what really kills these ad spots (for me, YMMV) is that horrid nyaa-nyaa music in the background. There's just no way I can take Apple completely serious anymore, simple from their terrible ads... which is sad, as their hardware really isn't too bad.

I honestly can't find an objective reason that makes OS X superior to anything. (btw, OS X isn't based on Unix, it's Unix compliant, and there is a difference)

But most computer owners aren't gamers, do you fuckheads realize that? They usually have a console system. And anyway, Parallels is fantastic, so you can run it through Parallels or even through Boot Camp. It is a point for PC, but not that much.

And fantastic that you can use office...funnily enough pcs can too, and since they dominate around 80% of the market, they can run most software; these things are usually built with pcs in mind! 10 years ago mac offered twice the versatility for twice the price...now its just twice the price

If Macs can't get viruses, why do Kaspersky make an anti-virus for mac?
The reason PC is more popular than mac is cost. Why spend thousands of pounds on a computer which, if we're being honest, is nowhere near as powerful as a PC of equivalent cost. It's illogical to do so.
Macs have their purpose, but for most people are too unfamiliar and above all too expensive.
I've had Windows 7 for a while now, and not once have I had a crash, virus or negative experience; it's been plain sailing.

And I got my last PC upgrade, graphics card which runs the games, about 4 or so years ago. And it still runs games completely fine! Yes, so are windows machines. There's nothing you can't do on a PC, that you can do on a mac. There's amazing software for windows too. There's excellent software for both OS'. I have a PC that I do music editing and recording on. You could do the same quality on a mac, but it comes down to personal preference.
PC gaming is hobby. If you want the latest cutting edge and performance the PC is bar-none for gaming. Not everyone one wants an underpowered console.

@SunriseInTheMidwest I disagree the world famous production does NOT use Macs but rather Sonys alternatives. more or less semi-pros, or amateurs that uses Macs suites because they represent a cheap alternative and a complete suite.
And NO! customer satisfaction does not mean anything here, the share number of pcs, types, configurations ect make the whole argument void, because you aignt gonna compare Macs that starts from medium to hight end, to pcs that start from low end,sometimes minimum

@SunriseInTheMidwest About gaming sure it is not the most important part for me but lets talk about games shall we, a high end 2006 PC can run pretty much anygame nowadays at PS3 graphics or better, an exemple of high end (not extremly expensive pc configuration : Quad core cpu Qxxxx+ 2x8800 Ultras )
I personally have a 2010 pc configuration with a Core i7 875k + HD5970 graphics a 128gb SSD a main drive 12gb DDR3 ram i m pretty sure that nowadays iMacs can't match that configuration

Remember, Macs cost about same price and they cannot be used to play. At the same time, PCs can be used to do same things Macs do, PLUS they can be used to play.
Console for a gaming option? Hahahaa! Joke of century! PC is the best (in my opinion) for online gaming, because: Graphics, gameplay etc. Continuing.

I built my PC to the highest performance in 2008, Today it is still extremely powerful. And i barely spent any money on it. Then there is the fact my last PC cost £600, and my new mac cost £1800. To me it is like the difference between a Hyundai and a BMW you just can't compare, Its nice if you got the cash but for most a PC will get you around just fine, and i don't know what people keep morning about i had that PC 5 years with no problem.

And back then, my computer was only 500$. So 600$ and I'm playing black ops perfectly fine. Also, Sunrise, let's see. 120$ for windows 7 ultimate, and 600$ for my computer. 720$. Macbook Pro's are what? 3 grand? Yeah...

@SunriseInTheMidwest 7 is indeed how vista was supposed to be, but between vista and 7 there alot of differences to make it a whole system, on the other hand what i find apple update more conning than Microsoft, you pay each service pack equivalent for money ! aka : mac os X leopard to snowleopard to now lion each time it is 30$

Not really expensive, this computer I have cost 200$ USD with 64bit Windows 7. Macs are a lot more expensive, don't go all bullshit like it's more cost effective to buy a Mac, it's not. They don't last longer, and even then the only way a PC is going to break fast is if you are an idiot and have no morals in using technology whatsoever.
And microsoft has done BARELY any advertising for 7, it's natural for people to choose PC.
Stop making these lies, you know whats true.

@SunriseInTheMidwest whats with the $ in Microsoft? they may cost some money, but at least you're getting a product and not a licence. when you "buy" a Mac, you're not paying for the computer, you're just borrowing it so to speak. and that's how it is for any Mac product (not sure about the iPhone since it's through a 3rd party). but either way, when i'm spending that kind of money i'd really like to own the product i'm paying for

I don't like that people are falling for the Mac vs PC trick. Mac IS a pc - personal computer. Macintosh is just a brand of PC just like Dell or HP. The only difference is that Apple made their own OS. The operating systems is what should be compared. So people, PLEASE THINK before you fall for some marketing trick.

@13Kukis The Mac vs PC debate IS about the OS. But once and a while people do debate the hardware because the hardware is NOT the same either. For example, a lot of people on the Mac side with comment on the fact that PCs are made of plastic while Macs are made of aluminum. Or the keyboard keys, mouse, etc. Also, the OS on a Mac is fine-tuned to work with the hardware which is picked to run together where as Windows can put on any hardware.

Mac's are just Retard friendly pc's. Thats all. I on the other had know how to work a pc. and have only had 1 windows problem cause buy a virus. The only other time it was cause buy a failing HDD. If people download less porn or get the people that write all those "wonderful" viruses out of the picture, things would be so much better.

The viruses on PCs are just one problem that, 10 years later, still lingers. And it's such a tiring story to blame the victim every time they get a virus. On my Mac, I can go on ANY site I want and install ANY program I want without worrying about viruses, malware, adware, spyware or any other ware you can think of.

And do you know why? Because people who write viriuses and spread them, want to hit the most people, and so they write it for pc's, Because most people own a pc. Why write a virius for a mac with a smaller fanbase when you can ruin all the pc's?

@wolfbane378 Well if you're referring to market share, then the Mac should have maybe 10% of the viruses since it has 10% of the market. And even if you think that's too much, how come Mac users aren't reporting ANY viruses? Think about how much of a big deal it's become last week, that ONE malware program for the Mac. Not that it does anything except ask for your credit card info. On the PC a similar malware was stopping programs from starting up, running the background and slowing your PC.

@SunriseInTheMidwest The OS that "Macs" use has removed most of the user functionality in order to generate a baby proofed OS that is useless to most serious computer users. I guess if you're 50+ years old and can't figure out how a darn old keyboard works, then a mac is for you. But if you plan on doing anything besides creating slideshows of photos and calling customer support, you'll need Windows.

Mac once 'claimed' through these sorts of ads that it was more secure than windows Vista, and Vista was seen as the least secure OS of ALL time... yet in 2009 a macbook pro, fully patched got hacked in less than 2 minutes, followed by the Vista OS... explain that one...

I love macs..but this commercial isn't very strong in its claims. When installing windows 7 on top of a previous version of windows, you're not required to 'move' all your stuff as this video implies. The installation process simply creates a backup folder called 'windows old' and all your files are saved there and can be easily accessed once your new copy of windows is installed. So, weak ad, and weak point. There are however hundreds of good, strong, logical reasons to switch to a mac.

@sainidhruv07 Yep, my move from XP pro to Window 7 pro was my easiest yet. Pretty much a 'set is and forget it', and my file structure was fine, even most of my programs made the trip!
On a side note, I think, smarmy attitude aside, what really kills these ad spots (for me, YMMV) is that horrid nyaa-nyaa music in the background. There's just no way I can take Apple completely serious anymore, simple from their terrible ads... which is sad, as their hardware really isn't too bad.
