I have heard a couple of the songs from IDI, and it is not that I am disagreeing on any particular point here. It is just that you are articulating them TERRIBLY. Half of the time, you seem to not even know what you are going to say from second to second. Your points as expressed are also weak. By comparing Radikult to more successful attempts to blend in another style/genre (ie Electric Funeral), you could have hit a home run. As it is, you come across as being scared of experimentation.
I love experimentation, as long as it's good. Nightwish experimenting with jazz is awesome, because they made it work. Morbid Angel experimenting with electronica is anything but awesome, as they do it awfully.
Since this video, I've relistened to this album a couple times. My current thoughts on the album are that there are more good songs than bad, but the bad on the album is so overwhelmingly terrible that it completely ruins the album for me.

I never discriminated against the band, but I did choose not to listen to them. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm a fan of Morbid Angel.

I hate to say it, but I blame David Vincent (Hell no, I'm NOT calling him "EVIL D")! He is basically continuing his seemingly contagious decline that started with the Domination album.
@MircelousGrimm Yeah Domination I don't get why its labelled a classic, that album was very flawed, the production was meh, the solos were pretty lifeless and dull for the most part, the vocals particularly on Slime were poor, dunno what that weird vocal effect was but I personally didn't care for it.

O.K. put it this way, aside from AngelCorpse last album and Arcturus' last album, name just 9 albums you would highly recommend---i'm trying to make this easy.

I'd say this is their best album. But then we clearly have different tastes :) We all knew that hard-core fans would hate this album and some of us in the industrial sector would rather like it. It's caught the eye of some people who (like myself) would hear the name Morbid Angel and stop listening. I hope they experiment more with this sound as they have some serious potential.

Grow up, Morbid Angel have never released a good album, just generic death metal. Just because they're trying to add something in (I'll admit it sucks) doesn't make them bad.

The idea that Morbid Angel never made a good album is a bit of revisionism on the levels of audacity as saying that Metallica never made a good album. If Death created the genre of death metal with Scream Bloody Gore, Morbid Angel perfected it with Altars of Madness.

Well, the first mistake the band made was replacing Pete. The new guitarist is alright. But ever since blastbeat Pete's departure, it was all downhill from there.
I'm a fan of music, as an industrial fan I thought it was ok. As a death metal fan I hate it. I'll tell you what happened. David Vincent I believe had more control over this album, if you dont know, his wife is Gen from the industrial band Genitorturers He is also their bassist. I'm guessing she got him into industrial music and David Vincent rubs some of that influence on this album. I believe this is their new sound, in an interview I read they are to be like Ministry of death metal.
@rodoxxs Death metal still has plenty of good artists just not the older ones. Not impressed with anything older DM bands have done nowadays. Listen to Abysmal Dawn, Decapitated, Decrepit Birth, Origin, Arsis, Obscura. Those bands all kick ass.

Yes, I can clearly see that regurgitating White Zombie tracks and old Domination riffs is really "progressive" and evolutionary and not totally a regression of the bands sound and integrity. I could not even finish your "Review", if in fact you can actually call it as such. I hope Trey wrote this album to get under his "Purist" fans skin, of which you clearly fall into. Experimentation is at the heart of all song writing, or at least it should be. While not everything is going to be to your strict standards, the least you could do is respect the fact that the band in question can actually write songs that transcend multiple genre, which shows the bands true musicianship.
Why do the counter arguments for this album consist purely of "it's ambitious and experimental therefore it's good" or "Oh you probably and elitist"? It doesn't excuse them from the fact that its crap and uninspired. What, do I lie to myself? And I can certainly tell you that it isn't just purists denouncing it as an experimental failure, it's practically nearly the entire fan-base. It is not what I expected, but I will have to give respect to Trey and David for saying "fuck you" to everyone, David has been that way since he joined, watch Grindcore: 85 Minutes of Brutal Heavy Metal, he pretty much explains how they are.

I can barely remember the songs , i only listened to it once, and then threw it away. I think they should'v continued with Heretic sound, and the same vocalist, the same brutality.. But who cares :P.. When Metallica released ST. Anger .. it's obvious that other metal bands can make fatal mistakes too :D..

I'd say this is their best album. But then we clearly have different tastes :) We all knew that hard-core fans would hate this album and some of us in the industrial sector would rather like it. It's caught the eye of some people who (like myself) would hear the name Morbid Angel and stop listening. I hope they experiment more with this sound as they have some serious potential.

I'm a fan of music, as an industrial fan I thought it was ok. As a death metal fan I hate it. I'll tell you what happened. David Vincent I believe had more control over this album, if you dont know, his wife is Gen from the industrial band Genitorturers He is also their bassist. I'm guessing she got him into industrial music and David Vincent rubs some of that influence on this album. I believe this is their new sound, in an interview I read they are to be like Ministry of death metal.

I could not even finish your "Review", if in fact you can actually call it as such. I hope Trey wrote this album to get under his "Purist" fans skin, of which you clearly fall into. Experimentation is at the heart of all song writing, or at least it should be. While not everything is going to be to your strict standards, the least you could do is respect the fact that the band in question can actually write songs that transcend multiple genre, which shows the bands true musicianship.

I actually like this album, Radikult really sucked, but I enjoyed most of the rest of the album... though the end solo to Radikult is pretty fucking cool. Illud Divinum Insanus is not a classic death metal album by a long shot. It is not what I expected, but I will have to give respect to Trey and David for saying "fuck you" to everyone, David has been that way since he joined, watch Grindcore: 85 Minutes of Brutal Heavy Metal, he pretty much explains how they are.
