Father, I abandon myself into your hands; do with me what you will. Whatever you may do, I thank you: I am ready for all, I accept all. Let only your will be done in me, and in all your creatures. I wish no more than this, O Lord. Into your hands I commend my soul; I offer it to you with all the love of my heart, for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself, to surrender myself into your hands, without reserve, and with boundless confidence, for you are my Father.
@CorpusChristi777Amen The original form of the Salve Regina, as medieval manuscripts testify to, actually lacks the words "Mater" and "Virgo". "Mater" seems to have been added only during the 16th century ("Virgo" seems to have been added earlier). In the old form of the Mozarabic Rite, the Salve is sung at the end of every Mass; guess what? It also lacks "Mater" (yet has "Virgo semper (Maria)" at the end).
I really want to have a DVD or a VCD of this documentary film, "Into the Great Silence." Nowhere to be found in the Philippines. I hope I will have a copy so soon.
Just finished reading "An Infinity of Little Hours" by Nancy Maguire.
Very inspiring and informative book on life of Carthusian monks in the charterhouse, England. You may want to see the video, THE MONASTERY 2005 on YouTube and VISITING A CARTHUSIAN MONASTERY, regarding monks and monastery.
I think this book makes too muck of the Order before Vatican II. There is in fact no change of any real substance. I can talk for St.Hugh's (Parkminster) only.

Isn't it "in hac lacrimarum VALLE" (not VALE)?:

@kkallebb Yes, "vale" is a typographical error.

Très belle version de l'ordre monastique le plus draconien de l'Eglise (silence, isolement, travail et prière!)

Vraiment magnifique, un des plus beau Salve Regina qu'il m'est été donné d'écouter.
