I'm pretty sure next NYAF is going to be same time next year (September), although it was in December in 07. At any rate, I think the cosplay(dot)com website can give you info on stuff like that. You can buy passes at the Javits center, but you can also get advance/weekend ones online. The ticket lines at the actual con tend to be relatively short, if not nonexistent, depending on what time you get there.
