  • Hmm, that's strange. I downloaded the ISO for the Japanese version of Silent Hill, but it's no different than the European version; that is, it's just as heavily censored as the non-U.S. versions. That's kinda frustrating.

  • 0:09 those cretures r originaly ghosts so how com in this version their visible and able to kill, do u have the original version or the platnum edition cause that might explain it

  • @TraceurHarryG1 actually, the Platinum, Greates hits and konami the best... it's the same to the final version, i have the europe version, and the promo, and the platinum too, and it's the same, the greates hits, it's the same with the SH 1 Ver 1.1, the Ver 1.0 it's another and the saves it's not compatible, i have all the demos except this, the Trade Demo, what i want find it

  • Shooting Babies in the Head..

  • I swear played a version with the little baby things!!! a buddy of mine still has it!!! I remember I borrowed the game from another friend and there were mumblers instead if greys... and the babies were turned into shadows... damn...

  • I want this SH beta. Can someone post the download link please?

  • Ehm yeah, there are some few sites with the Beta in torrent, but there are no seed no trackers.

  • XD Hah!

  • 0:10 weres my daughter!

  • harry shot down a baby!!!!

  • The BETA had little baby creatures, they deemed to violent, their attacks removed, got turned into ghosts.

The Japanese version had a naked child with a knife, more graphic, USA wouldn't accept.

So the child was turned grey for America.

Europe wouldn't take the grey children, so they got turned into frog like creatures, Europe again wouldn't accept, so we got the mumbler 'teddy bear'.

  • UFO Endings are canon on SH1 and SH2 I think. Those aliens on the video are beta, but there is a version released only for the press on '97/'98 with the Demon Child, worth about 300 bucks (just for the record, I have that version).

  • That's not an alien, it's an old version of a Mumbler.

  • Really? I never noticed it. I just call them "Aliens" because that's how people call them. Those are the first version of the demon child. And I've sold that one already, lucky me, I have a copy on my HD :3

  • @helltoast cool that you have the original.. maby you liked to share with the underground and make a torrent

  • i heard they cut the demon children from certain versions of the game. Many people mistake the claw fingers for them. which versions were they cut from? (i own one downloaded version that has them but the europiean one doesnt seem to)

  • actually the mumblers (clawed ones) Are what they're supposed to be like! Bu because the CESA Commitee (or whatever they're called) demanded it'd be censored because they didn't like the idea of killing children-like monsters. So they made it more monsterish and thus the Mumblers and Grey Children were born! It's at TranslatedMemories(dot)com

  • LOL

    Grey Children Were Born!

    :D

  • They were cut from the US version. I'm not sure if they're on the Japanese version or not.

  • it was the european version

  • And the Japanese Version because i have it.

  • Ooh. This is a much better version of Don't Cry.

  • quite orly

  • that was really interesting. i liked it.

  • I always thought that the UFO theroy was just pointless...At leas they made the later on games after another Deminsion! OMG SO COOL!!! TOO MUCH GRACE!! GO SHATNER GO GO!!

  • UFO endings are canon

    or at least should be

  • I agree, the alien "gray-children" were pretty silly. But I liked the fact that you could kill things that looked like babies! That's just neato-burrito in my book. And thanks for the info, I was always curious how the gameplay looked in the beta version. Oh, and yeah, the split-head lizard battle was better the second time around. I love the whole metal grate floor idea. I wish the other games (mainly SH2) would have followed suit with that.

  • I like this version better. It's more graphic and disturbing. At least with the larval stalkers. Shoot the baby! w00!

I'm very curious, where did you find these clips?

  • Really? I think the final version is much better, the demon children look much better in the final since they got rid of the goofy looking face. The area where you fight the lizard monster looks better in the final release aswell, since its rusty metal grate instead of a plain ground. As for the footage, its from an old E3 trailer.

  • @MadamFoogie I know I sound like a dick for correcting a four-year-old comment, but I have to point out that Larval Stalkers were the harmless shadow-babies. The ones that stabbed you and were all gray-ified are Mumblers.

  • @Holycrudaflyingcow12

dude the larval stalkers was easily the scariest enemy in silent hill XD

  • @4012037 I'm sorry. I have to disagree. I LOVED them! Thought they were the cutest things! X3 (Especially when they stumbled and fell.(

  • @Holycrudaflyingcow12 I'm pretty sure those were grey children. The Mumblers were the headless looking things with the claws.

  • @MadamFoogie Tell me, did you have this version?, please, i want find it

  • @davidmurillogomez No, sorry. I only have the U.S. copy.

  • @MadamFoogie ahhh... Don't Worry... never mind... but i really want to find this beta version, the larval stalkers are enemies?, that's the most incredible thing i have seen en this beta version...

  • @MadamFoogie yeah, me too, but i sure what there must be a place we can find it

  • well, not too much was changed........ mainly some characters (the little kid-like creatures) were turned into ghosts for the most part.....and a bit more darker/grungier.

  • interesting changes
