  • SEE AND THIS IS JUST ONE OF THE REASONS I HATE TOWER FANS,LOL, LOOK AT ALL THOSE PARTS YOU HAVE TO REMOVE. WOW!

  • hey guys ive got a problem with this fan, it was working well but then i've set the timer on to one hour, it worked well but the lights do not went off and when i try to turn it on it beeps and turn on the ligths but it dont blow air anymore how do i fix it?

  • Yeah, that's what I want to know too....how did you get it apart? I can clean it once I get it apart. But I can't find any screws or anything to get the outside plastic body apart!! anyone know how?

  • I have a Lasko 2517 that makes noise when turning... I've googled suggestions of how to get rid of the noise by lubricating the bearings in the rotor axle. However, I can't find anything that shows me what that component is and where it's located. Could you help?

  • I hope that's your garage, lol! BUT HOW DO YOU OPEN IT??

  • How do you open it!!!!????

  • you know what people all of you are right. there are better ways to clean this fan. that day i was just bored and decided to make a video. Plus i was curious what was inside this puppy. I'm always curious with things. How they work and what not. thanks for the comments though. keep posting more.

  • These fans need to be manufactured with hinges on the grill so you can just open and wipe. No way do I want to take it apart like this.

  • also when he stands up the fan and wipes it you should do that up side down so all that shit doesnt get in the motor or around it

  • instead of wasting time and making dust you can just take the thing hes wiping with a paint brush and just rinse it off with a hose out side. just make sure its dry before putting it back.

  • Why dont you just use a shop vac?No disassembly required.

  • Remove the two screws in the handle and then slide that back panel downward toward the base. That's all there is to removing the panel. The real bear is getting the set screw on the shaft to break free so you can remove the blades.

  • Cleaned the fan and actually found all the screws to put it back together. However, still only continuously beeps. Can't find anyplace what this means. Throw the fan away? Lasko tower fan #4820

  • I did finally get the back pannel off after removing not only the 2 screws in the recessed handle area by the 10 other screws in the two back panel section, using no less than 6 screw drivers (flat and phillips) 2 multi-tool. took at least a half hour. Not that dirty in side, I'll clean it, but my theory that the beeping indicated that the unit needs to be cleaned, may be amiss. I'll report back. Definitely a video for America's Funniest Home Videos.

  • My Lasko tower fan is beeping continuously. Not sure why, but found others with the same problem. Maybe needs cleaning. Took the two screws out in the handle recess, but can't seem to get the back off. Afraid to pry too hard or might break it.

How do we get it apart?

  • Does anybody know how to clean the ionizer though?

  • I clean mine with a LEAF BLOWER. Duh! No disassemble needed. Just take it outside of course.

  • That's a tight crucifix in the back at the end like no joke I'm not being sarcastic

  • WUT I WANNA KNOW HOW TO OPEN A TOWER FAN TO FIX IT

  • what does the ion button do

  • to clean a tower fan you use pressurized air and it blows teh dust and crap out of the blad real fast, u should try it, I did and it works great. I have the lasko 42" wind curve towerfan model 2554

  • Goodness, friend. Just get yourself a decent air compressor and a can of DW 40 and you will not even ever have to worry about taking a tower fan apart. However, if you haven't the room for an air compressor or cannot afford one, then you might consider taking it apart like geravega77 did. In which case it would be nice for someone to upload a video on how to disassemble and reassemble a tower fan. Nice and informative video, though.

  • Oh yes I had to disassemble this one. It was given to me from a friend who had it stored in a barn for 2 years.

If I had a video camera I would have shown the process.

  • @CaravanaVan Air compressor. THat just blow air inside and there definitely dust left out. Never buy a tower fan. It cant be disassemble, I dont know which idiot designed it but he should quit his job.

You can disassemble a normal fan, then u can clean the blade with water and dry up everything then assemble it back. But u cant do it with tower fan. Tower fan suck. I tried my whole afternoon with it and in the end decided to throw it away.

  • I would also like to see a video on disassembling one of these....

  • "it's either screwed, snapped, glued, or welded". considering my lasko tower has visible screws... we can all agree that a screwdriver is the required tool in order to disassemble this appliance.

  • Actually it's snapped, I finally pried it apart carefully with a flathead screwdriver.

  • Do you have a video on how to take the fan apart?
