he has tegens finish and both went all the way in my eyes you only didn't call her greedy cos she won it but morris didn't win it and he gets called greedy for winning £20k i bet most of you would love to have £20k in your bank account i certainly would
270/2 = 135. Anything less is not a fair offer. Simple. If you need the money and cannot make correct decisions you wont play right. Its like poker. :D
@surasamuel88 No, maths equations don't really come into it, the company that makes this show gives away tens of thousands of pounds in prize money every week for the sake of a silly game show, "the banker"s job is to play clever offers and try making sure the contestant goes away with the minimum, you know, like minimizing the damage. To be fair lots of people would've walked away if he'd offered £80,000... then if it turns out they had the £250,000 then the banker has just saved £170,000
so he's greedy cos he went for 250k but didn't get it? you'd even call him greedy if he was left with 100k and 250k and turned down something like 170,000 and won 100k
I dont know if anyone has noticed but Morris has been on the Chaser, Deal or no deal, 101 ways to leave a gameshow and the weakest link. Is this guy releated to all the directors of all the shows!!!
I just cannot understand how anybody could even consider the No Deal option in this situation. £101k!!! I'd break the speed of sound in saying yes to guarantee that kind of money! Yes, you could get more. But really, that gamble is absolute greed. To me, £101k is as good as £250k, in that it's merely the difference between a fortune and a fortune. £20k is a fortune too, let's not overlook that fact. But when you've reached a 6 figure sum as an offer, just run your arse off to the bank. GO!!
what did he do wrong,?? the odds where in his favour, this show is about gambling and dealing when the odds are against you. he was getting about 7/4 on his money on a 1/1 chance.
i would hav taken de moneys then gone down da betting shop put 20'000 on a 5 to 1 that way you still have 80.000 and a chanceee of getting £100.000 deal
Poor bloke. I remember seeing this show, I was holding a cushion up to my face because the tension was so extreme and I could watch, and when I heard the groan, I dropped the pillow. It took a tonne of courage to say no deal to 101K and not win the quarter-mil so in my opinion he is the single most courageous player on DonD.
If you were playing the game a hundred times maybe you would play the odds, but if your only playing once they matter alot less. The real question he should have asked is can I afford to loose 80k?
Why did you edit just before they open the box?? :L
Anyway, for peeps wanting to know if he won or not, he didn't and went away with £20,000. For people that must have proof, listen carefully on the clip for Laura, the first QM.
I didn't realise 'you guys' meant putting everyone in a box. You're obviously quite dumb. Take time to learn how to read and then perhaps, you may just about be able to comprehend what my comment meant. DUMBASS
whats really funny is when people call it greed when it makes perfect mathematical sense. he basically 'risked' 80,000 (offered 100k, guaranteed 20k) at a 50/50 shot to get 250,000. ill take that bet all day long.
taking the offer is a gamble. you may have given up 150k more. refusing the offer is also a gamble. you could end up with only 20k. either way you are gambling.
in this particular case its not even close as to which gamble is better.
if you want to gamble poorly thats your decision. but my point is that someone who chooses to gamble wisely isnt greedy. to me the person who thinks that the 100k is already in their pocket is being greedy.
just because the outcome was not favorable for the player doesnt mean it was a bad decision. just because the 101k is 'yours' if you choose it to be, doesnt mean its not a risk to take. you are risking 149k by accepting the deal for 81k above what you were guaranteed.
the ONLY circumstance in which i would say taking the deal would be 'acceptable' is if it were enough money to retire on. if it were a choice say between 3 and 10 million dollars, i'd take the 3 if losing meant no retirement.
@AhYaOk well if put it another way.... lets say u had the 100k go the roulettes. best odd is 18/38 or 18/37 (Red or Black)which is less than 50%. so here its 50/50 and he still gets to walk away with 20k which is still alot considering people walk away with less or next to nothing on this show. so its a good gamble unless you really need the money
@iamtrash123 yeah it depends on how rich you are. mathamatically it does make sense to make the bet because you're getting about 3 to 1 with 50% chance of winning. but i wouldnt do it. even if you asked me to bet $8 to win $25, which is the same odds, i still wouldn't. thats how poor i am. :)
"What's really happening" is you're betting 81K on a 50/50 chance, to win 230K.
On average, that's 115K.
You make an average profit of 34K by playing.
Unless there's another consideration like "101K is enough to pay that loan shark", you play. Though to be fair, 100K is "I paid off my mortgage" money. 20K is not.
@AhYaOk No you ain't, because the 101k ain't yours until you make a decision. You're losing nothing, the worst thing that happens is you get 20k for free, tax free. (This is the amateur psychologist coming out in me) - you're one of those people that will do pretty well in life, but you'll never make it to the top because you don't have the bottle to take the leap of faith when you're almost at the top ^_^
why didn't they show the ending? anyway, morris was the best ever contestant. most of them now go in with very low expectations, and are happy dealing very early, or for mediocre amounts of money. This game has definitely changed, contestants much more cautious now, and the offers made by the banker have slowly got lower and lower. I saw one idiot deal on £22k when he had the top SIX amounts still on the board. He simply could not have failed to have got a higher offer had he gone on.
Er, yes you could fail to get a higher offer by knocking out those high ones. Hit two of them and say hello to knocking a naught off the banker's next offer.
That's the sort of bravery that's sadly been lacking lately. No-one has come close to winning the 250k recently as they all seem to bottle it at 8-box. If you want to win 250k you have to go all the way to the end. Sadly, too many people deal well before the end. Still a brilliant show though!
he was so brave i cant believe he won £20,000 still a nice some of money he has been on quite a few shows neway this is my last comment to all these fantastic vids cheers m8 for them all im now goin out wiv m8s n goin on the pull hopefully thnx agen m8
Sadly he only won £20K but he is the best player I have seen on this show. He gambled £81K to win £149K on an even-money shot. I believe no other player has taken such a huge financial risk. If anyone deserved to win the £250K it was Morris, the bravest player of them all.
he has tegens finish and both went all the way in my eyes you only didn't call her greedy cos she won it but morris didn't win it and he gets called greedy for winning £20k i bet most of you would love to have £20k in your bank account i certainly would

oops make that 81k, i misheard it the first time he was offered 101k. still a mighty fine bet in my book.
xrongor 2 years ago
yeah, for a fiver.
not when youve got 100k in your hand though.
youre right mathematically but to risk a house/4 years pay on it, is a different matter.

i dont want to gamble, id do the sensible thing and take 101k
not risk it because the odds are in my favour.

you already admitted the math shows you should refuse the offer. now you claim the odds are in your favor. you're funny.
xrongor 2 years ago
no. youve completely misread
'not risk it because the odds are in my favour'
ie.. not risk it just because the odds are in my favour.
i agree (and said, the odds are in favour or no dealing)
there is no gamble taking the deal, you get your money and risk nothing.
he took youre option and lost 81k, had he taken my option he would have 101k and risk nothing.
clear deal.
youre funny too by the way.
ellk420 2 years ago
