  • These are nice, looking forward for the augmentation, these, I bet, are going to be a very good 8 indeed :)

    Well done fartwell!!

  • @simonbellringer There was always a spark of interest within the Parish when the three were unringable, and several ringing persons poo-pood making them ringable, till I got involved and sorted them, then the group took off and backed my proposals,. We have an excellent bunch of people, all keen and willing to get the job done. The bells will make a fantastic 8/10

  • Gorgeous bells!! :] what brought you up here kib?? x

  • @1BODGER95 More to the point. why didn't we see more people from your Branch on the Barnoldswick and St Jude's, Blackburn, fundraising weekend? If you'd come, you could have rung here and on our mini ring... Having said that, it was good to have LACR towers abilable for us and to have a select few, generously give their time to fly around stewarding at towers. You should have come Bodger, you would have had a good time.

  • @fartwell2000 I should have said "it was good to have LACR towers available to us..."

  • 8spalced? 8SPALCED?!?!?!?!

  • @8spliced Did you get a video of our mini ring?

  • @fartwell2000 Yes, I did. But it also has the tower bells over it so you can't really hear the mini ring unfortunately, and I was pushed for time so couldn't do it twice :-(

  • Apologies, of course, it wasn't TESCO... twas E+S doing the galvanizing.

  • @irkibby Yes, E&S did have some good points, but I am not quite sure what was going on, some of the time.

  • I like these! You've had me checking over Barnoldswick to see if any letter is repeated - how did you verify this??

  • @timmeh1507 I am an extremely knowledgeable person .

(Ok, I looked up Barlick on Wikipedia)

  • @timmeh1507 If you like these as a six, you will like them even more after they have been augmented-and we are more or less set up for ten on one level, all the top and bottom steelwork is there, pre-drilled, for the extra two frame castings to augment from eight to ten.

Come and visit us on a Tuesday night, 7.30pm till 9pm with drinky-poos in Rolls Royce Social Club, after the practice. Church is on Ghyll Lane, Barnoldswick, around .75 of a mile from St Mary, Thornton-in-Craven

  • The frame is ex-Bridgerule, they chucked it out to install a fabricated steel one, as the steelwork holding the G&J frame castings had corroded and buckled.....So I picked the castings up for pocket money prices. False economy at Bridgerule, I saw a farmer's gate that was only a few years old-on one side, the galvanising had come off, and there was no metal, it had rotted away. Lets see how long their steel frame and steel stocks last....

  • @fartwell2000 I thought I had seen G +J on a frame side! Thanks for the extra info. TESCO used to galvanise everything apart from the bells.

  • @irkibby The last ever TESCO job to leave Loughborough, they did us proud, in difficult circumstances. Bridgerule was a Parker job from memory, I recall seeing the rehung bells there and being slightly in shock, at what they had done....
