I was 8 years old when it was on the news. she was only 23 years old and still had so much life ahead of her. Selena was going places no Mexican would ever dream of going and it's very sad that she was taken away. Selena was a not just a famous singer, but a positive role model for young people.

I never been to Corpus Christi before, but I know where it is. I first knew of Selena during the last days of her life.  It was my older brother who first told me about the time of Selena's death. It was Yolanda Saldívar who cut Selena's life short. I was attending high school at the time of Selena's death. She died during the second semester of my freshman year.

My Spanish is not very good, but i have always loved her songs. In English and in Spanish. Of course i never knew her, but you can tell she was so beautiful, not only on the outside, but inside as well. Watching and hearing her sing was like you listen to an Angel. She is truly missed.
