  • does it work with ipads?

  • Can you use the Apple TV power cord with an iMac?

  • @TheAppleStuffChannel No, the iMac uses a different cable.

  • nederlands !!!!!!!

  • Fake

  • @Pr3fixProducts Its not fake you know its fake because YOU DONT HAVE APPLE TV

  • @pabeceraable That whole sentence of yours doesn't make any logical sense, and is grammatically incorrect.

  • would it work on any tv that uses hdmi

  • @TheFMGW Yes!

  • Do I need to leave my computer turned on when trying to stream media off it? Can I stream media off my iPad or iPhone on to my TV using the apple tv? I live in a country which does not let me access itunes. Is it still worth getting the apple tv?

  • @Rathinko no. if you can't access iTunes it doesn't worth it

  • @Rathinko Jailbreak (Se0sonpass + aTV Flash) = no need for PC / MAC / iTunes or what so ever and plays EVERYTHING!!! =)

  • @Rathinko If you are streaming from your computer, it will need to stay on. You can stream from your iPad/iPhone with or without the computer running. And without iTunes or Netflix and the other content providers like it, you won't find the Apple TV very useful unless you have your own library in iTunes.

  • I thought this was sort of silly..the whole streaming over home network. I did some research, turns out it doesn't use your internet data if you are on a limited plan. I never ever knew that. This whole thing just started to make so much more sense to me. I feel like this has helped me realize that(:

  • @gokarter28 Ah, glad to hear it. Yes, you are making an internal network connection if you are streaming locally.

  • @pacmanweeee Actually, you did not understand my question. I want to know the differences between a Macbook Pro and Apple Tv in terms of media. Are the videos, music, Tv shows thatcare available on Apple Tv also present on Macbook Pro? because I 'm not too familiar with Apple tv (never used it)

  • @TheSmartPresenter004 The content available to you in iTunes on your MacBook Pro is identical to the content available to you on the Apple TV. However, playback over HDMI to an HDTV is typically blocked because of HDCP copyright protection.

  • Dude I love your music taste!!!!

  • Apple TV is shet!

  • You have the same Panasonic Viera tv like me

  • Is there anything that Apple TV does and my Macbook Pro can't???

  • @TheSmartPresenter004: How about $1900 price difference?

  • @beerman1957 How about if you have one?

  • @TheSmartPresenter004 not every one has one or feels like hooking it up to there tv.

  • @TheSmartPresenter004 Playback of iTunes DRM movies is typically restricted over HDMI, so you can't watch your iTunes rentals on an HDTV without an Apple TV.

  • @TheSmartPresenter004 play movies from your computer over hdmi

  • Appie TV

  • Can you watch let's say nba on it like a pay per view game or something like that?

  • @AParaipan NBA League Pass has also been available for online streaming and directly mobile apps for Android and iOS, and the Apple TV bundle comes in two sizes: a $65 option if you pick seven teams to watch, as well as $100 for unlimited streaming. (Although, real penny-pinchers could just purchase the mobile version, which costs $70 less than the Apple TV version, and just AirPlay that to your HDTV, another new feature of iOS 4.3.)

  • he loves star treck

  • @SuperKRIS111 That I do.

  • For once apple made something other than white

  • @JPCV2001 Makes sense for a media cabinet.

  • it just like pluging your HDMI Laptop in your HDMI tv what a waste of money

  • @Jesusskuyguy If you rent movies from iTunes, they won't playback over HDMI to your TV.

  • thanks for the vids ppl. i think i will stick w/ my notebook via tv connected, and will go ahead and skip this feature

  • Horrible!!!! Good demo on the tape tho

  • /user/SuperDonovan911?feature=mhee

  • do you Have EastEnders

  • >hdmi cable not included

    lol

  • I dont even get the Use of Apple TV, what is even the use for it? If u want youtube or other things then a person can simply connect their laptop to the TV and nowdays the latest TV provides Youtube and other things in itself

  • @listen1423... Well not everyone is an angry broke son of a bitch like yourself. Go cry elsewhere

  • Where's Your Fancy Intro?

  • Great Job on your Videos! Always proffesional in audio, video & content. Thanks!

  • still you are looking for your apple tv check this

    liveextremesports . com

  • i get my new apple ipad from here

    liveextremesports . com

  • Sooo, you'll pay around $100 (or 120 euros here in Holland) and then you can rent a movie for 5 extra? I'd understand purchasing a movie like Get him to the Greek for that price...but renting it?

Also, in Holland, Netflix isn't avaliable yet....I love Apple (I own a iPhone 4s), but I don't get this...

  • @RTAK64 Whats so fucking hard to understand? Its typical greed from Apple. If you are dumb enough to purchase anthing from them then you deserve to pay for every little shit they tell you to oay for.

  • @RibaFish66 and Microsoft is any better?

Windows 7 Home Premium is $120, Windows 7 Ultimate is $220 and it barley does anything more than home premium. Your just paying for a fancy name

Apples OS only come in one edition, so everybody gets every feature and it only costs $60. Microsoft Office for students is $120, add three more programs and they bump it up to $350. Apples work software is $60 for all of its programs

Yeah... and Apple is the greedy company

  • @EnhanceURi thats just software so if you dont have it you can buy it but obvously it would be more expensive but i mean if you buy a computer with it it couild be from 300 to whatever the highest price for a computer goes to then an apple computer your spending like 2000$ for one of their not even that great products so yes apple is greedy not microsoft,

  • I'm totally gonna buy it

  • Gosh it makes me mad how so many people can afford mkxs, big plasmas, iMacs, MacBook pros, and apple TVA like its nothing

  • can an apple tv just be used to make your tv hd like an hd box, or is it just where u watch movies and tv shows from ur itunes profile?

  • I sell unlocked Apple TV's locally for some cash and I get excited every single time I open the box. And trust me, I opened a shit load of them

  • @DoThisDare are you senile?

  • Apple Sucks!!!!!!

  • Can I use this to view items from my MacBook to the TV?

  • Quinn!

  • I hate Glee

  • I love the Apple TV

  • i am missing something on apple tv? can you do all this on your MBP?

  • NO!! DONT TAKE THE TAPE OFF!!

  • Is this useful? Can you watch regular tv on it? And does it affect how a movie looks like? Example: Bluray, HD, HQ videos, etc.. Please reply. Thanks.

  • so what if you wanna watch local channels?

  • @shylildude you can't do any live streaming .. so no local or any live TV

  • @arazzengene you can with dontpaytv . org

  • so it's an apple tv that doesn't come with a fuckin tv?!

  • Why dont you just connect the hdmi to the computer? seems like just an expensive hdmi-hub...

  • Can I take a apple tv to a friends house and hook it up? TIA

  • What's a micro USB? And where can u buy it, and what does it do?? :) TIA

  • can i use my itouch 4gen for this??

  • @FreeForAllGamerz That would increase its size a lot. If you want a Blu Ray drive or DVD drive, buy a DVD player or Blu Ray player. The only thing I think I would add to this is the ability to hook up to a computer via crossover ethernet cable so that it doesn't require an internet connection, and if it had external HDD support. So i could just take this and my HDD on the road and hook it up instead of having my computer come along with.

  • I just got one and I really like it.

  • Damn nice overview!! Subscribed :)

  • I lean more towards Apple, but in this case, I'm giving my ticket to Google TV. The Logitech Revue is now reasonably priced. You can pick up a refurbished one for around $80 from Amazon.

  • @foolio1990 The only real downside I think to the Apple TV is that it REQUIRES an internet connection to use it. It's too bad you can't just hook up your computer to it via crossover ethernet cable. Idk about the first gen ATV, but this one can't. Also, this doesn't have a hard drive in it or external HDD support. It could be improved - and i think the 1st gen did include those features , but i can see where theyre coming from. dropping that stuff for reduced size. oh well.

  • this apple tv is really useless

  • @galaxymode so are you '-'

  • so basically you're paying 100 dollars for a fancy hdmi cable?

  • @debunker1905 um, no...

  • @debunker1905 You are paying 100 bucks for a streaming device that can stream netflix, youtube, etc., through an hdmi cable. Actually is very handy.

  • @ShibbySlushy Can't I already do that with a regular desktop/notebook/netbook/tablet and an hdmi cable?

  • @debunker1905 This is for people who don't have a computer near their tv. Not everybody has a tablet.

  • @debunker1905 No! ur paying 100 dolloars of the apple tv!, the hdmi cable isn't included!

  • @debunker1905 Yes but it requires cables as well as a lack of visual clarity.

  • @debunker1905 Yes, a 20 meter cable which pass throught walls.

  • @debunker1905 ya movies, pay a thousand dollars for another movie interface cause we all sit around watching 2 hour movies all day

  • @debunker1905 no you have to supply that yourself

  • thank you for the demo, it's very informative

  • Awesome!!

  • Ewww NICKELBACK

  • Eu fiquei na maior brisa enquanto ele retirava o apple tv da caixa, fiquei sonhando, acho que amanha compro um. kk

  • great video, does it allow to use facetime, via ipad2??

  • @ku1986 um...what? how could you use FaceTime on a box with no camera?

  • @jtwith It captures Facetime through your iPad, iPod Touch, or iPhone and then streams that video to the box which is hooked into your TV. The box isn't capturing video at all. Just streaming it to the TV via your device.

  • Do u need to pay each month for service

  • @coolradio123 no, i don't think so. I DO think you have to pay for the services built in (Netflix, iTunes etc.)

  • @FreeForAllGamerz I would appreciate it if it at least supported external hard drives. Especially if it recognized NTFS-formatted drives. Or if you could at least get a freeware that would format an external drive to be recognized by this. It's just that I store all my movies on an external drive and I have another drive for backup, and it would be nice to be able to just plug in, instead of having to copy em into my computer to stream.

  • I just bought one Friday and I love it. I don't care what the naysayers may say, this thing works for me.

The thing I really like about it is its small size, portability, and the fact that you can readily purchase movies in the format it supports instead of only being able to buy movies that have Digital Copies.

  • @FreeForAllGamerz agreed much more easier sync with itunes all your media and then you can take the apple tv wherever you want

  • Don't Panic, great song

  • Such smooth operation product from apple!

  • Now heres the main reason Apple TV flopped, its because not everyone has HDTV or HDMI Capable TV's.Over half of the United States do not have HDTV's due to bad economic times, and other priorities,so they settle for Regular 480i TV Tubes.now i know HDTVs have gone down in price, but being a regular guy,i still cant afford one unless you have a good paying job, being a college kid,HD is no option at the moment

So why make a device that excludes millions who use 480i TV's,Apple is dumb for that

  • @gio1764 Well, maybe it's right that in the US even half of the people don't have a TV with HDMI but if you look over to Europe (and especially Germandy) you'll find millions of people haven a TV with HDMI capability. So this is very different from country to country but I think Apple didn't want to produces different versions of the Apple tv and that this is the reason why they've decided to use HDMI

  • @AppleundSeeedFan or make it use both at the same time

  • @gio1764 They could just make it with inputs for regular tv or HDTV. But that's what the product supports. If people can't afford an HDTV, then they can buy an AV cable for the iPod that plays video.

  • Apple needs to get in on the 'provider' game and show Att/Verizon how things are done.

  • Cool thanks for the info.

  • Hmm

  • What I can't figure out is...do I really have to have a separate wifi account to use netflix or youtube on the tv, or can i just connect it to the iMac, get on iMac to youtube, and watch it on the tv via apple tv...?

  • @aignaciodc The AppleTV connects to the internet and displays content to the TV over HDMI. The iMac is not involved.

  • @aignaciodc You just piggyback the internet connection that is running in your home. That's what Wi-Fi is. I just wish it had it so you could connect the computer to it without having to have an internet connection. Some people don't have fast internet speeds, some don't have internet at all so this becomes kind of a letdown. I'd almost say PS3 is probably better, but PS3 is Cinavia infested and doesn't let you backup movies you buy onto an external hard drive.

  • Great job, I really liked the information you gave, I sure hope that I'll be getting one for Christmas.

  • Thumbs up if you don't read the warranty info.

  • @CoolioSam101 no.

  • Also - - Any idea if a Wireless Keyboard would work on this? I see there is a USB port on the back, just curious if that would work somehow??

  • @xtraflo Not at present no. "The USB port on the back of the Apple TV is only used for service and diagnostics. A USB keyboard, mouse, hard drive, or any other device will not be recognized by Apple TV."

  • Hey there - Portland, Oregon here. Just curious if this device will stream Audio/Video from a Windows based machine??

  • @xtraflo it will, it streams all iTunes content via home sharing

  • Why not just connect your computer to it tv most of the newer one have the hdmi output already

  • @jordy100s because then you don't have a lean back interface, you have a desktop OS. Not a bad thing and both work, but some people just prefer a more situation optimised interface.

  • Ha, September 29 is my birthday! I was also born the day the Nintendo 64 came out!

  • @xclaimer365 O:

  • @xclaimer365 Who cares!

  • Thanks. Great video

  • I dont really see what im paying 100 dollars for...access to my own itunes library?

  • @peanutcat10 you can wirelessly stream any media from your other apple devices straight to your TV. Rent movies, access radio stations, youtube, and netflix. Its a really nice media hub

  • @dorsmitch44 To stream Media from another device, Does it Have to be an Apple Device? Is it capable of streaming from a Windows 7 machine??

  • @xtraflo it streams from iTunes in Windows

  • @SimonLYW Hmm, schweet...

  • so what about watching standard HD tv for free ? If this isn't included it's total crap

  • Do you know if i can use the apple tv to link my panasonic to my internet so i can use the internet options on the tv???? thanks

  • im getting this when i move out :)

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • AEROSMITH...nice :)

  • I got this today and it's awesome!

  • Micro flash drive?

  • With the "Home Sharing" feature, can I simply insert a blue-ray disc into my Mac and begin watching it on Apple TV? or do does the disc first need to be converted to computer file and added to some kind of library?

  • Great review!!

  • I really hope apple enables apps for this device. It would be nice to have a weather app, Vlc and much more. Something to increase the functionality of the device.

  • ugly car

  • you have to use a coin to open the back of the remote? but how will billionaires change the batteries? they only have paper money and bank accounts after all

  • @pavelcernik a spoon! works just as well.

  • Can you just browse the internet?

  • can you attach a keyboard?

  • whys everything soo black

  • hum u like aerosmith...

  • Does this catch signal from the new I phone as well?

  • いいな~ 俺も欲しい...

  • it's like being back at nursery

  • LAWL at the nickelback

  • i know what apple tv does but what is the apple capsule and apple epress do?

  • That remote looks lot like the iPod Shuffle.

  • It doesn't matter what kind of Tv i'm using ? Sorry but i don't know anything about this ! XD

  • does this work on any tv system?

  • Hi i have a 32inch TV in my room so i was going to ask for a apple tv for x-mas, so i thought i would ask you if it was worth the money and if it is any good. Thanks

  • @DetroitBORG Haha nice, i live in the Apple ecosystem :) I have a lot of Apple products. :)

  • Can someone tell me if I can take my iTV connected to my iTunes account and like take it to my friends house connect to their wifi, rent and watch a movie there?!?!

  • I've got one too. Love it...

  • It's so interesting what you report !!

  • I'm in love with your reviews. You're really awesome.

  • detroit borg, if you have any of those brown apple boxes lying around I would love to have those. Seriously I need some.

  • can this be used like the airport express in terms of acting like a wireless hub? i have a pioneer receiver as well, and was wondering if it was possible before i buy the apple tv

  • @bnguyening No, it's not possible with the Apple TV software, but you might look at the jailbreaking and hacking community for software options on the Apple TV.

  • @DetroitBORG ok, thanks! one last question. are you able to stream music through airplay and play it through your receiver? i was worried about the wireless functionality of my receiver, which requires connection on the same network. however, there isn't integrated wifi, and i'm not able to extend a cable to my modem. i was hoping the apple tv could stream music through my speaker system via the receiver
