@jeepnutnh If the owner is going to actually race it there's really no reason to have a nice looking dash. It's made for function rather than looks. If they need to tear down and work under the dash they wouldn't want to dick around with taking apart a nice one, or working under there without taking it apart which is a p.i.t.a and takes forever. On one of the cars I work on all you have to undo is 2 dzus buttons, unplug a cord to the computer, and pull the dash out.

Yeah I noticed that but like robby said it's 3speed or what not. It's basically aN automatic transmission built to handle loads of HP. It's not the typical transmission your thinking of. Not sure why they use em but yeah, Vin Diesel used one in the new "2 fast" I guess it was in all the movies? My guess is that it gets kind of dangerous to worry about manally depressing the clutch with that much HP so this tranny does it instead.

its a 3 speed th400 automatic with a manual valve body. they use autos because they're faster in the 1/4mile and autos can be built to handle gobs of power cheaper instead of going to a lenco or jericho manual.
