James Joseph "Jim" Croce ("crow-chee") January 10, 1943 – September 20, 1973 was an American singer-songwriter. Between 1966 and 1973, Croce released five studio albums and 11 singles. His singles "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and "Time in a Bottle" were both number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
On September 20, 1973, the day that his ABC single, "I Got a Name", was released, Croce, Muehleisen, and four others were killed in the crash of a chartered Beechcraft E18S upon takeoff.
@DoYouhav2ask You are absolutely right. That's a really good line. Beats what I would have written----"Oh, Yeah?" In either case, the F*** Y** is implied.
great songs like this make you cry for the unsung music of this man and all singer songwriters that died before their time, Croce, Sam Cooke, Otis Reading, and so many more. I introduced this music to my daughter, not expecting her to like it, but just to let her know what is out there. to my surprise she loves it! Now, when I am looking for my Earth wind and fire, Stevie Wonder, or Jim Croce, I look in her room first and its always there. I am going to surprise her with her own....
@pbarrigher I so grew up with this music! I STILL love and appreciate it! He was truly one of lifes best! I only hope future generations will love and appreciate him as much as us...
See Ya! Don't let the door hit ya!.... Great song... I often wonder how many more hits Jim would have given us had his life had not been taken @ such a young age... He had a style that still gives me goosebumps. Im sure he is still rocking in heaven! God bless you Jim....
I was 10 years old when he died......I will always LOVE his music.....I'll meet him someday ;)

@bambam691964 I'd like to see him put in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame . I was just 9 when his first hit came out and I liked him ever since .

@bambam691964 That's what makes him special. He never left the 70's. He is apart of that era alone.
