This reminds Me so Much of My Baby Brother who passed awayin Oct 2006, He was so close to Keiths Voice it was scary.. and even turned down an Audition in Nashville after I got a tape of his to a Nashville Big Wig He was troubled by Alcohol demons and drugs, Just as Keith was, I will find the tape od Him singing I never go around Mirrors, and post it, You will think it is Keith singing it. Why do such Talented People have so many Problems, Thank You I always pray for the Alcoholic and Drug users

i myself am going thru the demons that took keith away from us. someday we will all be back with keith, but god bless those who are suffering now. god bless his wife lorrie who had to endure the pain of losing him yet going on and making keiths memory stay alive.

clay, just recieved your email, thank you so very much. as you can see from my email below I am remarried and I also am an outreach minister, dealing with people who have demons that most people never will understand.But God does. Jesus said that he came for the sick/hurting for the well have no need of a physician.Keith's musical legacy will go on even though his demons got the best of him. some may never realise the hurt/loneliness that an alcoholic/addict feel. God does though.

Clay, dont allow those who choose to judge others who have passed on for whatever reason.
they usually are harboring deep pain of their own and can see no other outlet but to throw darts at others pain. I am remarried but lost my first wife to cancer years ago. that pain stays with me to this day.

Why comment on what took Keith away from us. We all have our demons. Don't ever blame Keith for what took him away. Just ask yourself what your demons. Live and let live. You are not his judge. You are not God. Let it go. Just enjoy Keith as he was. He was a gift to us all. I accept that in him. I am thankful to God that we had him on this earth as long as we did. He was a tormented person and still gave to us all. God bless you Keith. I love you.

I'm thinking it was 1988 my best friend and I at that time danced to this song over and over for hours before we said goodbye it brings back memories of the friendship we had back then.

Its a shame this talent was lost at such a young age.He had a fantastic voice and was any easy pic into the grand ole opry.Too bad drugs and booze was more important.Thanks keith for the great songs and memories.We will always remember such a great talent.R.I.P.

I really liked Keith for his GOD given voice/talent.....I agree with you that apparently drugs and booze was more important than life itself.....I can't listen to him now, without the news account, 'he was found dead in his own puke'.....What demons took ahold of him, and his life? It's a crying shame! RIP Keith Whitley

I went to boot camp and had tickets to see him in concert the weekend after I graduated. My parents told me at graduation that he had died of alcohol poisoning. He was my Elvis Presley. I was tore up for weeks. He would've been one of the greatest country singers ever if he hadn't met an untimely end. I must've played this song a thousand times that year...
