  • yes he died too soon...his own doing....booze.....dont fell sorry for him or her anne1234ify

  • why do people think this alcholic was so great???????he sure was not a role model for his kids and her she has been married what four or five times.....come on people...they were both trash.....so they can sing...so what....keith got what he deserved......a quick dealth!!!!! anne1234ify

  • you can put this man up with Marty Robbins, merle Haggard,Randy travis and Jim Reeves as a country great-they all had different styles but all are great country singers-Keith went too early- sadly missed

  • Should have been songs

  • One of the best country sons ever recorded, he died much much too soon.

  • I know, of course that Keith Whitley died a long time ago, though his son almost sounds like a reincarnation. Stranng enough I never came across Lorrie Morgan, now have listened to a lot of her music and covers. Many are great, she sometimes sounds a lot like Dolly Parton, to my surprice. Does she still sing> (The wiki holds an action against some overthetop legislation) I can't find anything more recent than 2008 and an announcement, this year that a new website is coming soon.

  • If you don't love this song you have no soul !!

  • Love this tune and artists! Awsone!!

  • l cant belive weve gone from this to Lady Gaga & Justine Beeper, Sad.

  • On Jan.1 2011 Linda went to be with Jesus, we were married for 50 yrs. 1 wk. & 2 days. l love her more now than ever, lm waiting for the day when l can be with them forever.

  • Best true Country Duet I have ever heard!!!!!. Instantly became afam when I first heard it.Then I sadly learned Keith had passed away. "SAD"

  • ONE OF THE BEST DUETS.

  • This song is the best by the duet !!!

  • Keith was no stranger to the rain and when he met lorrie at Homecoming 63 it was love ten feet away. He finally found somebody that was doing him right and he said tell lorrie i love her. Keith told lorrie i have some bad news the Lord has summoned your Kentucky Bluebird home. Lorrie asked Keith why and he said Its all coming back to me now, I must go and share with others in heaven this brotherly love and take my rest but remember i will never be over you

  • A beautiful song performed by two gifted country singers with perfect harmony! They sure don't make songs like this anymore.

  • This was the first duet my Wife and I did together. Awesome!!

  • How could anyone not like this song ?

  • Timeless country duet...always beautiful.

  • This is love the way it should be one feeling the others pain or happines

  • What a GREAT old tearjerker !

  • I just love this song. A true love song. My husband would say these things to me. It is so caring, honest and sweet. I don't know who wrote the lyrics but it is a beautiful love song. Makes me cry every time I hear it.

  • Totally AWESOME song...Always was and always will be....Best I have ever heard!! Job well done for lyrics and this video...Brings tears to my eyes...Very touching!!

  • This is what love should be two people feeling each others pain and happness there would be less divorce in the world.

  • This song is so beautiful....My friend and I do this once a wk. when we Karaoke..We probably don't do it justice but we love it!!!

  • beautiful song keith whitely was one of country's finest singers RIP

  • I love this song because my mom always listens to it on sundays while we sit and drink coffee....:)

  • this song reminds me of my dad. he always wanted us to sing this together. i love you dad...someday we WILL sing this!

  • no one can sing this like keith and lorrie..

  • This is definitely one of my all time favorites. It gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it!!!!

  • I had the good fortune of meeting Keith the year before he died. He was a really humble and genuine guy, to say nothing of his tremendous talent as an artist. RIP Mr. Whitley.

  • Wish Keith could have heard this and they had done more when he was alive.

  • My Mom and Dad use to sing this song alot. My dad plays gutire and they would set at the table and sing on the weekends... usually with 5-10 friends and other people that played music.

  • I guess there are 7 people out there who never listened to the song. This is a damn fine classic!

  • Agreed! No song ever written can replace this, with Keith and Lorrie. None! Wow!

Thank you. It's sexy to waltz to.

  • @GoddessTides brings a tear everytime I hear it

  • They did a great job putting Lorrie on this song with Keith. He was her true love and always will be. I wish she could find someone she could love as much (she's tried at least 3). She deserves love again. I have all her CDs and her autobiography, it's a good read.

  • @presgpgp NO!!! That Bitch dont deserve nothin. Yea Whitley WUZ the man that truly luved her an she coudnt see it. So its my beleif if ya look at all the evidence Keith Whitely wuz MURDERED. I fer one beleeve she had sumthang to do with it. Theres NOOO way you can git 3 times the the alcohol fer poisonin into yur body without passin out b4 that happens. Everone knew he liked the bottle, but the alcohol wuz jus waaaay tooo high fer normal human consumption. I am TRULY sorry if she is yur hero.

  • @DE3PT

Are you serious? I sincerely hope you are a troll or are just being facetious? I almost fell out of my chair when I read your comment. How do you even know how to use a computer? lol

  • @DE3PT Oh Ya she fed him Alcohol. She was in Alaska when he died dumb dumd.

  • This has been my favourite since my husband passed away. It's been four years & I still play it.

  • Easily the best song he ever did, and adding Lori's awesome voice makes this an alltime classic.

  • A decade past but this song is unfading....i love it

  • WOW!

  • :'(

  • Ladies and Gentleman i present to you "The President and the First Lady" of country music, my idol and friend Keith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan. Keith was awesome by himself and Lorrie was too, but when their voices blended together magic happened. God bless you Lorrie, u were back then and still till this day u r a CLASSY, TALENTED, and one HELL of a COUNTRY SINGER period. You and Keith had a love that people only dream about having and i thank you for sharing him with us his fans and friends.

  • @lno71 I agree with you totally. This is the kind of music I was raised on. This is how love should be. We are using Keiths song "When you say nothing at all" as our wedding song. It will be played before we say our vows!

  • @MsVixen1979..We used "I cross my heart" from George Strait..17 WONDERFUL years ago. Best wish's to you both!

  • good visuals.

  • only if this was actually true there would be no darkness in the world if all tear drops turn to roses

  • this song is very popular...i always love listening to this kind of music in my lonesome...

  • This Song I Dedicate to MY MOM and Dad. 62 years of marriage and love to each other. They are a match made from Heaven. this coming July 28 will be a year ago my dad went home to be with Jesus. Jesus called and he answered. Now what was our dad on earth is now our Angel in Heaven. He earned his wings. Dad you are missed so much and we all love you dearly. Till we see each other again we send all our love, hugs, kisses all your way. Love You DAD.

  • This is a great number, I remember seeing both of these great artists at the Wembley Festival many years ago.

    Thanks

    Margaret

  • Love it!! Just love!!!

  • Yes Lorrie is good, but Keith was better! And Keith with always be better , even in death! I think she loved keith too, no matter what those who say she left him or she had an affair on him. I don't beleive it and it does not really matter now any way!!

  • Love your voice.Gene O'Connor I am just finishing a gospel CD Call he really loves me.

  • To He From Me....I will Always Love You !

  • so beautiful

  • And as I understand it, Lorrie added her part AFTER Keith had passed away. What a great blend of voices, even if one is from beyond the grave!

  • God rest your soul, KW. Country music misses you like you wouldn't believe!

  • wilbsable love this song

  • one of the best country songs I ever heard

  • what a beautiful song...I miss Keith...I am never sure what we ever learn when somebody talented and gifted as he was passes away...It 's just ivery very sad and that is all iit really is and life goes on

  • Keith Whitley passed away from alcohol poisoning in the mid 1980's.

The song by Vince Gill "Go Rest High on that Mountain" is a tribute to Keith Whitley.

  • That song is actually about Vinces brother that had passed away.

  • vince gill wrote go rest high on a mountain for his brother

  • @callispapa but he started it due to keith whitley's death

  • @callispapa it was for Keith Whitley's funeral, hence the reference to being no stranger to the rain and not being afraid to face the devil, along with the reference to Keith's troubled life. Sadly, shortly Keith died so did Vince's brother, and so Vince reworked the song to be about both people.

  • I loved Keith and I still think that Lori is great She helped me at my lowest point in my life Thank you for having this song here I had my cd broken ........

  • One of the best Karaoke hosts where I reside & I used to sing this together a lot & we'd always pack the dancefloor :-)

I've had people come up to me & tell me I sound a lot like Keith Whitley, Tracy Lawrence & Alan Jackson.

It's quite a honor to be told that :-{)

  • Each time I listen to this beautiful song I am so charmed with Keith's voice. His pitch is awesome and he makes this song so soulful and warm. Lorrie is always great, too, and I am so grateful that she did this recording for us to enjoy. This song makes me cry, too, but it's more for the loss of a great artist. Thanks again for sharing this. - Paula

  • Beautiful song...just like Lorrie...

  • Ginahill had already nicely posted the names of the singers here where she's posted this beautiful video. Keith and Lorrie who always sang so wonderfully together. Keith was one of the most talented singers who's ever lived. He always stays on pitch perfectly. This song is so pretty and it's such nice harmony. The message in it is awesome. Anything Keith sings is A one with me. Lorrie has always done a good job with her music. Her dad George would really be proud of her I'm sure. Thanks Gina.

  • sad ,sad song about love, about losing someone a deep feeling of sadness. a beautiful song makes me cry. lindsey

  • This reminds Me so Much of My Baby Brother who passed awayin Oct 2006, He was so close to Keiths Voice it was scary.. and even turned down an Audition in Nashville after I got a tape of his to a Nashville Big Wig He was troubled by Alcohol demons and drugs, Just as Keith was, I will find the tape od Him singing I never go around Mirrors, and post it, You will think it is Keith singing it. Why do such Talented People have so many Problems, Thank You I always pray for the Alcoholic and Drug users

  • good song long time didnt hear this 1

  • this is a wonderful duet! :)

  • i love this song.

  • i myself am going thru the demons that took keith away from us. someday we will all be back with keith, but god bless those who are suffering now. god bless his wife lorrie who had to endure the pain of losing him yet going on and making keiths memory stay alive.

  • I love the fiddle background...harmony is great

  • clay, just recieved your email, thank you so very much. as you can see from my email below I am remarried and I also am an outreach minister, dealing with people who have demons that most people never will understand. But God does. Jesus said that he came for the sick/hurting for the well have no need of a physician.Keith's musical legacy will go on even though his demons got the best of him. some may never realise the hurt/loneliness that an alcoholic/addict feel. God does though.

  • Clay, dont allow those who choose to judge others who have passed on for whatever reason.

they usually are harboring deep pain of their own and can see no other outlet but to throw darts at others pain. I am remarried but lost my first wife to cancer years ago. that pain stays with me to this day.

  • Twoquartslow, you sound like an idiot. If you can't listen to Keith anymore, then don't. But, dont' put your 2 cents worth of imagination on this web site, because inflation had done took a hold of your 2 cents worth, and it's worthless to the world. So, goodbye idiot.

  • Why comment on what took Keith away from us. We all have our demons. Don't ever blame Keith for what took him away. Just ask yourself what your demons. Live and let live. You are not his judge. You are not God. Let it go. Just enjoy Keith as he was. He was a gift to us all. I accept that in him. I am thankful to God that we had him on this earth as long as we did. He was a tormented person and still gave to us all. God bless you Keith. I love you.

  • This song says it all for me. I have been looking for this man who gives so much promise, yet escapes me.

  • listening to this beautiful song and thinking of my friend who lost a child to substance abuse

  • I'm thinking it was 1988 my best friend and I at that time danced to this song over and over for hours before we said goodbye it brings back memories of the friendship we had back then.

  • Its a shame this talent was lost at such a young age.He had a fantastic voice and was any easy pic into the grand ole opry.Too bad drugs and booze was more important. Thanks keith for the great songs and memories. We will always remember such a great talent.R.I.P.

  • I really liked Keith for his GOD given voice/talent.....I agree with you that apparently drugs and booze was more important than life itself.....I can't listen to him now, without the news account, 'he was found dead in his own puke'.....What demons took ahold of him, and his life? It's a crying shame! RIP Keith Whitley

  • Oh my...

  • Thanks for a beautiful song. They sing it so good.

  • i realy like him he is the best ever.marion from ballybay

  • yes, there are still men who really DO care when their wives cry, i am one of many, though media never tells of us. Real men,w/ real feelings for those that we love...

  • thank you for sharing a beautiful video

  • Such beautiful sentiment...Do men ever care if their wife is crying?

  • check out KeithWhitleyBlvd. There you can find Keith's original, minus Lorrie and with Ricky Skaggs on mandolin and harmony. Its fantastic.

  • I made a video with this version. Please stop by to check it out, everybody! And be sure to sign the petition to show your support for Keith and our efforts to have him nominated for inclusion into the Country Music Hall of Fame. The link is on my channel.

  • This music is always good. I have so many cds. And records that go way back. But the cartoon, I think you could have taken a different appoach.

  • ONE OF MY ALLTIME FAVORITES!!!!

  • The music lives on.... thank you Keith.

  • GREAT; BEAUTIFUL

  • Can`t believe it has been that long.

  • I went to boot camp and had tickets to see him in concert the weekend after I graduated. My parents told me at graduation that he had died of alcohol poisoning. He was my Elvis Presley. I was tore up for weeks. He would've been one of the greatest country singers ever if he hadn't met an untimely end. I must've played this song a thousand times that year...

  • Sad story...Thanks for sharing it!Both Kieth and Elvis are in my music heaven!

  • absolutely excellant...and magical...lorrie is so dam hot!
