  • v8 would have been sweet. these little out dated 6 arent that great. if this is a rd20 motor that is ive seen em at 450 hp just simply blow up at the track

  • @mikhailSRT4 most def. the stock ls1 on stock z suspension like this with stock z tires will give you a low 11 sec car. throw some bolt ons the ls1.. HOLD ON!

    No engine explosion required. haha

  • @videosps first of all, this isn't a race car. Second, tell that to F1, Indy, Nascar and all the manufacturers who use them in supercars. It isn't the number of cylinders that make the engine good. The best thing that could happen to this car is an ls3.

  • @videosps Actually, most of the toughest road and track cars are v8s. Most car companies will tell you. Although v10 and v12s are powerful in their own way, the reason v8s have stayed popular is because of their near bulletproof design. It's not like I hear of many v12 cars getting 300K miles and still rolling daily. Also, I'd rather throw a rod in a hopped up datsun or something else cheap, unlike a lambo, which costs as much as a house.

  • Where the hell did you hear that the LS is prone to "oil pump failure" from turbocharging??? LS-v8 DOESN'T regularly experience oil pump failure as result of turbo-charging. Oil supply to the mains and cam only become an issue at high rpms (7500 and up). A well designed turbo-system on an LS will produce power from 3500 and up without the need to spin the motor beyond 7000 unless its been built for it. Turbocharging doesn't place a significant burden on the oiling system

  • @elomni87 Theres no reason to "hate" a mustang with a RB26 in it. Hell, youll end up with a spectacular and unique car.... Well, that is until the RB motors grenades itself at some point, THEN youll see why more people opt for GM ls motors for motor-swaps.

  • @originaldriver Actually, this was caused by oil starvation from running a factory oil pump and increased power, something that regularly happens with LS motors when you add boost. Its physics, not who makes the motor.

  • @elomni87 If he had put in a GM ls v8, then the motor would have not exploded at the end of the track. (hence the reason that so many people now swap those v8's you seem to "hate" so much) :)

    I have owned rb20's 26's 1j'z 2j'z ect... and depending on what you want out of the car I would go jz they can take a lot of abuse i would never own another 26 I made 420whp out of my rb20 without spray never did a dyno pull with spray but it would have been close to 600whp on the stock motor even head gasket yes it would blow up from 5ish months of hard abuse but it was a 3-500 dollar motor so i would just swap it out and put all my toys on the new one.

  • @ModfreakGTR The 26 is expensive and doesn't do to well from my experience when making decent power sure it can be a good motor if you through a bunch of cash at it.

  • @EddyKicksAss theyre kinda heavy and mess with the handling of the car. that and alot of people feel like putting an engine from a different manufacturer is wrong. especially american engines for some reason. i agree in alot of cases.

  • @slammedandshiny I want to believe the engines you are referring to are older/iron block v8 engines, since Chevyrolet's LSX motor for example is lighter than a ka24 engine, with more power, and enough torque to pull a train, add intake/exhaust and you are looking at 450 hp to the wheels, every day all day in pump gas with absolute reliability, and I imagine the L28ET must be quite heavier than an aluminium block v8

  • @PREDEX2000 What's even sadder is a 350 cubic inch Small Block Chevrolet is slightly lighter than the N47 block, N42 head in a 280z.

  • @elomni87 Why? It's fast, reliable power over here in the States. Although I have owned a couple cool Datsuns. One was a 210 coupe with an FJ20DE warmed-over race motor. It cranked to 9,500 rpm and was sickeningly fast on the high-speed and mid-speed corners, but failed and spun a lot on the hairpins due to the fact that most of the weight was in the back.
