I do the some thing with all of my computers, I buy most of the parts used (except HDD)and then clean it all up and It ALMOST (lol) always works perfectly for a cheaper price.

The fisheye lens on timelaps was great, but annoying as hell for the rest of the footage.

I must second what the guy said above about the GTX460. I have two of 'em in SLI and it's an amazing amount of "bang for buck". Definitely check them out when you decide to upgrade and don't want to break the bank on the GTX480's. A SSD Hybrid drive like the Seagate Momentus XT would make a BIG difference too!

Sony Vegas would make this machine it's bitch ;) More RAM? Yes please!

I like the case! i can't believe that guy sold to you and sent those components to you in that condition. I was really shocked the RAM wasn't fried the way they were packaged. next 200 bones ya get go get yourself the GTX460, you will be able to play just about anything with a decent fps rate. Nice job on the build.

@SkateboardHammers for sd video, 2 gigs of ram will do the job, if your video is around 5 minutes or something.

for hd video i definitely recommend at least 3 or 4 gigs, i'm talking out of my own experience because i also had 2 gigs in the first place, and i got the error: the video can not be rendered because your system has not enough free ram memory or something in vegas and after effects so i upgraded to 4 gigs, never seen any error since

you can lower your ram usage by closing processes in windows task manager, press crtl + shift + esc and close the processes you won't need, but be careful you don't shut down necessary processes, because then you will get a blue screen

core 2 duo???? You need at least a quad core. Also you are gonna want more than 2gigs of ram. If you have windows 7 64bit your computer can support up to 12gigs of ram. I would suggest getting all 12.

@detriotskate i payed 600 for everything and i realize its old tech but it suits my needs fine. i build this computer as a base to build off of as i needed something now but didnt have the money to build exactly what i wanted. this will hold me over for the next year well i find a new job and save for some new parts. when i buy some new parts i plan on getting the i7-860 quad core or better depending whats on the market when i have money
