You should check out Anata. You'll be hard pressed to find a band that has better usage of contrapuntal structure. I like Necro, too, and their guitars and bass kick ass, but Anata has much better composition and drumming. The Great Juggler, Conductor's Departure, Downward Spiral Into Madness, Children's Laughter and Better Grieved Than Fooled are some kick ass songs off of their newest album.
Explain to me, how the new album sucked. Did you only hear Anticosmic Overload? I can tell you, Choir Of Souls bears many resemblances to this song. The new album's also much more musical than this. Even though, this is of high quality.
