  • Could have swore this was on how to install a rivet.

  • I use heat ( gun or torch,) and a rivet brush. Takes 5 to 6 seconds per rivet.

If the vehicle is brand new off the lot I do not use primer.

If the vehicle is older and or repainted I use primer for insurance.

  • Not to be critical but there is a much faster and better way to do rivets. You were not getting your rivets all the way down anyways. Why don't you try using primer 94 a rivet brush and get a 24 pin rivet punch and only put the inside pin's in. It gets those rivets ALL the way down and is much faster.

  • simple but quite effective mm... the vinyl tends to recover its form? as adstat said? I wonder why it happens

thanks for the tip ; )

  • After heating the vinyl to form around those rivets you want to make sure to re-heat them & re-squeegee them to secure them properly, or you will chance them coming back up, ALSO if you know you're going to be doing rivets on a semi-permanent installation you want to brush around the rivets with some primer 94 for the most secure bond

Do NOT try to mold rivets without heat, as the vinyl memory will pull it back within a few hours..

  • Shovelhead here Daddy....I don't need them of course, but you should make more tutorials.

    Good job!
