  • I like blue, and this village is covered in blue. I never want to keep going further at this part cause I know it will be destroyed -> f*** you Kuja

  • I always thought that this village will be filled with gingers

  • @coaticook20 Haha....The Ginger Village Bran Bal

  • brings back memories bathed in blue light... How i love this game only god can guess...

  • Opeth.

  • I got FFXIII-2 the day it came out and I'm a bit upset. The soundtrack.....isn't like the original's at all. And the story isn't even interesting. I wish S.E could make more great games like they used to.

  • @Mrsjonas4now Throw it away, new FFs suck so much. Already sold FFXIII and won't even bother with FFXIII-2.

Old games > new games, imo.

  • @Detsurasu Yeah, it seems newer games aren't close to be great or good. Not even worth playing. But I'm going to try it out because my bro bought it for my birthday. It won't be good. :(

  • @Mrsjonas4now I suggest you beat the game and forget about it, it's not even worth of a name "Final Fantasy". Oh, it's a present, keep it, never sell presents!

I have started to play through all FFs that I have, already beat all 3 SNES ones, playing FFVIII right now (today got Ragnarok), next will be FFVII, FFIX, FFX. Already completed FFXII and won't replay FFX-2, it was a major let down. ((

  • @Detsurasu Yeah, I'll try it out and beat it to see if I like it but.... I don't know. The battles aren't the same. It's not like any original, it has newer things. And you can't even gain actual levels for your character; it's just like FFXIII. In the original we could level up. But now there's a crystarium. :(

  • @Mrsjonas4now Yeah! Pity really.

And the soundtracks! I hate them! Why can't it be like in previous games?

  • @Detsurasu Because I guess they got bored of their original?

  • @Mrsjonas4now Weird comment. Bored???? What you mean, bored??? It's only 'cause of Enix and new staff! Lmao, your comment made me laugh.

  • @Detsurasu lmao, true. And I'm happy it made you laugh! :)

  • @Mrsjonas4now xD Hope they will get bored of making next FF games, as they become more and more shitty.

  • @Detsurasu lol, I just want some of the original games with great idea's in the newer ones. I will always be an original FF fan! :)

  • @Mrsjonas4now Same here.

  • @Detsurasu because Nobuo Uematsu doesn't involve himself with Square Enix as much any longer. Now it's Masashi Hamauzu doing the composing for the 'Final Fantasies'. Ugh.

  • Disturbingly Peaceful

  • as mmuch as enjoy listening to hitoshi sakimmotos work ff games need to be composed by nobuo...Hitoshi stay with Atlus, we like you there. i recently played a game called white knight chronicles and it wasn't great but it pertained closer to teh story of an ff game than 12 or 13 did... wich made me kind of sad.

  • FFXIII-2 has the worst launch sales in history of final fantasy. Let's hope square finally gets some sense knocked into them and realizes they need to part ways with enix and go back to their roots.

  • Eiko: What a Bimbo!

  • I disagree, FFXII is powerfully boring and has rubbish music (composed by someone who isn't Uematsu). I stopped playing it at the final dungeon, couldn't even be bothered beating the boss. V through X only for me

  • @mullacy2 Not FFIV?

  • 0:56 - 1:27 I get chills every time. This part in the game was so sad and this song is so atmospheric.

  • Nobuo Uematsu is a fucking genius!

  • This song makes my heart tremble.

    The game of my life:)

  • As long as Squaresoft/Square Enix stands, new or old releases, the controller will remain in my hand till my last breath. Here's to you Square... Thank you for shaping my childhood and leading me into adulthood.

  • the Ginger village...

  • That part of the game is this song?

  • @SuperAnimeGirl1997

    Terra.

    When you enter Bran Bal.

  • music is the soul of a video game, this one and the other FF games around that time definitely had it. Something that's been lost in the post-Uematsu games, evident looking at the cheesy-pop standard of music in the FF XIII-2 trailer

  • a straight line...... that's what ff13 is. you can't explore, talk to the people, go on sidequests, or even go back to places you've left behind. final fantasy has lost its magic, despite the amazing graphics, smooth gameplay, and excellent designs. even the soulless village is livelier and more emotional than the new generation of final fantasies.

  • I love reading all the generation gaps. People from the PS1 era say 7-9 are the best then the series went downhill. People from the SNES period say 4-6 are the best and then the series went downhill...Sheesh people...I must be one of the few that has a game from each generation in my personal top 3.

    They are...

    FF9,FF12,FF6

Styles change over time for better or worse. As much as I like the ps1 FF's, I doubt I could have stuck with that style for much longer. The Ps2 era was a good change.

  • @ProgDrummerQ I happen to have the exact same favorites; although I have to say the current generation of FFXIII and FFXIV is pure fail this far. A lot of pressure for FFXV if it wants to have any kind of an attempt to gain my interest. My current hope for this generation is set on Xenoblade Chronicles, which I got a few weeks ago already but I've only played some of the beginning despite it does have that quality feeling on it.

FFXII would be awesome if it had Nobuo's music!

  • @ProgDrummerQ i'm from the ps1 era and i think 6 was the best

  • shut up about ffx already.. youngsters

  • Oh god, the goosebumps...

  • in my opinion FF9 is the best and so it the music

I love this thee sooo much,

    It's beautiful

  • Kuja disliked this one

  • I miss this game...I need someone to hold me right now...

  • @MISTERWONKA7 why don't u just play it, again?

  • @Starscreamskywarp I probably will in the future when I have the opportunity.

  • Thank you Nobuo Uematsu for making this piece of music, you will never know how truly we love you..

  • This and Terra feel so similiar, both are my favourites.

  • i pronounce this BRANN- BALL how do you pronounce it?

  • @indieglee261 Bran Bal. All short a's

  • @darthgrahf teehee uh what does a short a sound like

  • @indieglee261 the a in cat

  • Ive never played this but i want to

  • @RabbitFrenzyy Go play it and be amazed :P

  • 5th gen JRPG's>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • FF 7,8,9...it doesn´t matter which one´s the best. The fact is: A good game don´t need super realistc graphics and voice actors. Music is the language of life. It makes us cry, feel happy etc. etc. And this is gone, more and more since FF10. In FF 1-9 the voice was in our head. Supported by the beautiful music from Nobuo Uematsu. We´re told our own Story......

  • @schattnflamme Couldn't possibly agree more...RIP true final fantasy.

  • @schattnflamme i think ffx had good music, after that it went downhill

  • @schattnflamme yeah ffx was the last of the final fantasies to have mystifying and amazingly emotional music. such namely to zanarkand and someday the dream will end

  • @schattnflamme Could not have said it better myself. I find the new games without his magical touch of music shit.

  • @schattnflamme FFXII and its associated products still have beautiful music. In fact some of the best in the series.

  • @schattnflamme Totally agree...

  • @schattnflamme I absolutely agree. Plus since voice acting is in all ff games now, i think this deminises the expreience. With just text dialogue, we use our imagination to hear what the characters are saying. This combined wth the epic music of Uematsu creates a world in our minds. Voice actiong is fine in FPS, but in fantasy and RPGs, the greatest tool is our own imagination.

  • @thonyman

One man, one word. Couldn´t say it better by myself. :)

  • @schattnflamme yeah.

  • @schattnflamme could not have said it better

  • Some of the greatest video game music i have ever heard has come from games without voice actors. This is why i will always love all the final fantasies before 10-2. No voices to distract me from nobuo's fantastic arrangements. And before you start yelling at me; yes i know ffx has voices but the direction is done so well that during scenes where there is talking the music is toned down or just meant to stay in the background while music played during gameplay is scenic and memorable.

  • Village of gingers

  • @Nauticus89 thats what i was thinking too

  • @Nauticus89 I thought Zidane was blonde..?

  • Amazing breath taking soundtrack :-) :3

  • Terra is still my favorite part of the game. Good level of enemies, beautifully haunting music, nice story pacing and a big reveal, your friends proving you aren't alone to the awesome "You're Not Alone" and an amazing sequence. Terra was always in an eternal flux of rebirth and death. A beginning and an end. The world map and some areas went the same way after Terra. Even the world's music changed. It was truly amazing.

  • I <3 disc3 songs

  • good for a serenade :)

  • must...not...cry...waaaaaaaaaaahaaa !

  • Just recently a couple months ago, I've beaten so many great games again, including this one... Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 9, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete... now i'm working on Legend of LeGaia(For the first time.). I seriously despise the games they make now a days, Classic Playstation 1 RPG's will be in my heart forever.

  • @Pharphain When I become a proper game designer, the first thing I want to design would be those old fashion games, from the classic playstation. I too agree that the old RPG's are way better.

  • @Pharphain keep at it. :D

  • @Pharphain You should try FFXII. And VIII deserves a mention alongside VII.

  • @Moragauth I'd say even X. THough musically it doesn't compare to the older games or XII.

  • @Moragauth I just bought a copy of VIII recently i'm giving it a go.

  • @Pharphain Playing it for the first time.

  • @Pharphain legend of legaia is an amazing game

  • How can you listen to this and not want to cry, so beautiful. It brings back fond memories of me and my cousin at grandmas playing this game all night in her living room. Now that same cousin is not the same person, memories I'll never get back.

  • FF9 OST is probably the best of all games. But other FF OST's are also ridiculously good. Like FF7, 8, 10, 12 and 13.

  • @SteveDutchy id have to argue with 8 to tell the truth, was poor... never played 10 and had an irrational hatred of 13... so cant comment on them realy

  • @SteveDutchy Yo forgot 11! lol

  • This place seriously creeped me out. I don't know if it was the music or what...but it creeped me out.

  • ffix has the best soundtrack out of all final fantasies simply because the music not only makes your mind go places, but also makes you feel relaxed and not a bit rushed so you can enjoy the best of the game's pristine storyline and characters...

  • This is kinda like the same type of melancholy, lamentable song as Esto Gaza. I love this song. hehe

  • IX probably had the most standout tracks, but all of the retreads on the main theme got old. I wish they had used different songs for some of those.

  • Whenever I hear this music, I get a feeling of emptiness.

Ideal then that it's used for Bran Bal.

  • WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED THIS???

    KILL IT WITH MAGIC

  • @GeorgeAguilar

Can't we kill him/her with stabby death instead?

  • @Aerosion who gives a shit what you thinks. FF9 > FF7. This song is beautiful, either you like it or not.

  • @Sargatha I think he was just trolling.

  • maybe this song is part 2 of terra song

  • Amazing game, its too bad every game after 90 has sucked, such bs.....

  • @Styles718

    Final Fantasy XC?

  • @Styles718 Look. I know that there have been alot of Final Fantasy games, but I think 90 is maaaybe a bit excessive.

  • @Styles718 Huh? This game is from 2000.

  • this song makes me think of floating through space..

  • Such sad and beautiful tones.

  • Wow this sounds kinda like the "sad" music from Final Fantasy IV, espescially at 25-30. You know, the sad music that plays with Tellah after the destruction of of Damacyn.

  • @uncleburley

    that might be intentional

  • This music suits Bran Bal.

So few instruments and so Beautiful, especially at 0:57

  • Damn I wish our world were as interesting as that in Final Fantasy 9.

    /sigh

  • @SashaBeliy It is. ^_^ There are pirates, actors, kings, queens, transvestites, whores, people trying to escape responsibility, people trying to discover the meaning of their life and themselves, some killer landscapes, a few soulless cities, even a few forgotten and empty ones, and a few very nice and unendingly interesting personalities a person can really tie themselves up in.

    We don't have airships though. D: :P

  • @UncleApothecary

Yeah we do. there called planes.

  • @DoinkTonberry Not the same.....

  • Damn i love this song, FFIX has always been my favorite final fantasy game. Uematsu even said that FFIX was his best music by far, I see why.

  • this tune is rather surreal if you ask me...

  • Comment removed

  • learning to play the piano version of this released in the ffix piano book... it's more eerie, and i think it suits bran bal more. It's totally empty emotion.

Not that I'm putting this version down! How could Uematsu just be so AMAZING? D': (happy tears by the way)

  • i like turtles, and this song

  • @yomom4202 Ghido is pleased.

  • bran bal and it's music gives me a very unsettling feeling. it's almost scary

  • This song is the most emotional track in the game, I think- So totally blown away by this music

  • this song always makes me sad :'( so beautiful

  • @SenkoPenko the song should make you sad. its all when zidane founds out why he was made. basically the same reason as vivi. to be a weapon. which is why he wants to be alone in the part where he fights all the monsters and the epicly awesome music plays. FYI TO ALL. best soundtrack ever.

  • @snipershote I kno, it's personally my favorite FF game :)

  • @SenkoPenko agreed :D

  • this song is ridiculously beautiful. this game had the best soundtrack hands down.

  • @feverxchill

It's too tough a call for me say it's the best, I think the series has some of the best though, and if I made a movie I would love to have the composer(s) work their musical magic. I loved visiting the castle for it's very sweet theme. And.. nevermind. still he

I hope this music can come along in Heaven.

  • @feverxchill Definitely the best soundtrack for any FF game. Best soundtrack for any game ever? Nah.

  • @P1zzaSH4RK That's what I meant - best soundtrack for any FF game. Not sure if I could even pick an overall best video game soundtrack...

  • @P1zzaSH4RK I think so, but Chrono Chross is right behind this.

  • @feverxchill Even Nobuo himself could not deny that!

  • Comment removed

  • @feverxchill Yeah, even Nobuo himself has said IX's soundtrack is his favorite.

  • @Klefth Yup. I was happy to find that I agreed with him on his own work, lol

  • @feverxchill d'accord..¡¡ is fantastic....awesome tracks...¡¡¡

  • @feverxchill Agreed. They fucked up final fantasy after this...

  • @LBPCraftsman Yep, yep

  • @LBPCraftsman you're dead wrong. ffx was not "fucked up".

  • @jan1an Crappy voice acting; stupid characters with no personalities, backround, or development whatsoever: completely linear; practically no secrets; people keep whining about 'blitzball'; lame story; weird music... the list goes on. Enix joining with Squaresoft ruined the whole company. Theve tried to continue the series by making them all linear, cinematic, and have no secrets and as little gameplay possible.

  • @LBPCraftsman Here's a little known fact about that merger. Square spent literally all their money on Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, which despite being way, way ahead of any CGI made at the time (and still some current stuff, really) was a massive commercial failure that nearly bankrupted the company (which was mostly just a game developer at the time). To save the company, they were forced to merge with Enix, a much bigger, wealthier company. That's how they became "Square Enix."

  • @Antiformed Interesting! Although my opinions havn't changed. All game companies eventually make a bad decision in there existence, but Square Enix has by far made the worst in what we, as game players, liked about the origional final fantasy games. I only respect peoples opinions if they have supporting arguements, and so far I havnt seen anyone list what makes post-FFX games good.

  • @LBPCraftsman Versus looks to be pretty promising.

  • @LBPCraftsman You're hating on FFX? I don't care linear it was. It had a great storyline, music, character development (Auron ftw), gameplay etc. It was one of the best ones I played next to FF9. I hate it when some fans bash that game just because it was linear. That's a stupid reason to hate a game. And I thought FFXIII was hated by most of the fans. FFX is one of the best FF games it's being remastered in HD. It may be a market test just to see if SE will bounce back up again and remake FF7

  • @MissKairi101 Just because alot of people like it and it sold well doesnt make it a good game. The fact that the company is remastering it just means they want money for something theve already made. And actually, hating the game because it's linear IS a good reason to bash a game. Gameplay is the exact opposite of linear. I played FFX btw, so im not basing this off of other's opinions. Let me see...any classic, great, and origional game thats linear and good...hmmmmm....nope.

  • @LBPCraftsman FFX was not bad. It was actually pretty damn good. Everything after FFX though is aweful. And if you're telling me that FFX has no secrets, I don't know if you're trolling or what.

  • @Sargatha

Have you even tried playing through all of FFXII? That game was amazing!

  • Wow.

    good song :D

    ty for add music :)
