Thanks for the awesome analysis. I'm not as tone trained. From the little I know, I sensed the song dabbled in a lot of untraditional 7,9,11 and augmented chord progressions. The diminished chord in the start definitely drives home that eerie mood.
Truly a masterpiece. Just makes me appreciate it a lot more.
The only predictable part is the arrangement which is very typical of Ilayaraja. I would love to see this song be arranged by some of the current directors like ARR or Haris Jayaraj.
the part enjoyed the most was the second interlude voice harmony where the chord goes to A...how on earth did Maestro conceive so many layers? SP Shailaja has beautifully rendered each layer...kudos Vicky...there are so many songs for you to pick up and explain like this...more Vicky more...
