@DHooligan3485 doubt it's to do with my age, i'm 17. And there are very few good punk bands still going, i can count all the 21st century punk bands i listen to on my hand.
@HeroLink777 He's full of shit. He asserts rules & regulations for what is "punk" and what is "unpunk" which is a mindset that is no better than any other subcultural fad. BR are "influenced" by bands, sciences, sociology, life, pain, injustice, hypocrisy etc. They are better than most of the bands that they claim as influences, and they are certainly better than injustice and hypocrisy. I have been told that some of my songs are better than bands that influence me. It's all subjective opinion.
I still can't believe how Reggie Bush, Lendale White, Matt Linart, Dwayne Jarrett, Darnell Bing, and Steve Smith could not out score a lone Vince Young . oh and i like the song itself by the way hahaha
they, my favourite band ever, are not just gonna play in my hometown for their only italian date. my city is also on "next concert" under the like/dislike bar, wow :P
I love Bad Religion because their music sounds fucking awesome and I don't give a good goddamn who they are better or worse than and I don't know why it matters so much to you people. Is it seriously impossible just to enjoy music anymore? Just close your eyes and imagine Christmas Day in an atomic garden. Easy as that.
When did I say I hated bad religion? and why is everyone making all these assumptions calling me an asshole and a punk purists whatever the hell that is. I just dont get how people could bash a band that was so original and influenced sooo many good bands. and now your hating on grunge.. well i guess some people just like the over polished commercial trend rather than pure raw emotion... and if you hate alternative rock then you sir are very close minded.. have fun with that.
@HeroLink777 haha, thats just like saying greenday is better than the ramones, or bush is better than nirvana. bad religion is good but you cant say they are better than the band that they sound like and are highly influenced buy. whatever you guys are young. you know nothing of true punk rock.
@GunnarsShenanigans husker du was waaaaayyyy before bad religion. they are one of the poineer bands of melodic hardcore punk. im sure even the members of bad religion know they will never be as good as husker du. type in "something i learn today - husker du" then tell me if bad religion is "better".
@baraqijal15 Learn your punk rock history Bad Religion formed in 1979 and put out their first record on June 1st 1981. Husker Du also formed in 1979 and put out their first record in 1980. If you know anything about the two bands early sound, you will know that Husker was abrasive HC, while BR always had a melodic bent. Seriously I know you are probably like 20 but use the google.
@starkweather444 Your not a punk rock historian because you typed the two bands in on wikipedia... ive got every husker du EP and LP on vinyl and there early demo comp on vinyl aswell. i dont give a fuck about what genre they were under back in the 80's. @baraqijal15 Kid you are 21, I am almost 40. I saw both Husker Du and Bad Religion play live, Huskers in 87 on their last tour and Bad Religion in 1990 in a school gym. I was there you weren't, yeah I am nostalgic but at least I experienced my nostalgia, you didn't experience this at all. Why don't you find your own youth to re-experience and stop trying to pretend you experienced mine. Plus, fighting on the internet is pretty silly.
@starkweather444 your arguement is weak man. your very dumb for your age... did i even once imply that i have even a clue about being a part of that era?? but yea, im so sorry for liking good music. shame on me.. i better get to a lil wayne concert asap!
@baraqijal15 You don't even know how to spell argument and you tell me my "arguement is weak" and I am "dumb for my age"? It's great you like good music, continue to do so. @starkweather444 i dont know what it was that started this argument. but me and my friend share this account, so if anything was said that pissed you off enough to try and make me feel stupid for trying to support an underated band like husker then i am so sorry for offending you. this argument is pointless and i am late for work. and im 19, not 21... sorry if that bothers you. as you are such a pioneer and all..
@amary7940 You mean recognition like being one of the most known and influential punk-rock bands of all time? Because punk bands don't easily survive 30 years ;)
@razielblack13 Yeah fair point, but they were only popular and fashionable for about four years and then disappeared, and not many people could name a Bad Religion song these days. Anyway, the point is, this is a great song!
I'm sure it was a challenge for Bad Religion to live up to the awesomeness of both Suffer and No Control, but the Generator album sure as hell comes close.
Amazing song. There's enough punk songs about beer and getting beat up by cops and being homeless.....when you just can't take another empty cliche of a song, there are few bands that will do the trick. Bad Religion never disappoints (ok, I admit there was one album that disappointed me in 2002-03 or so) and Propagandhi comes to mind. This is intelligent, thoughtful music, but it still has the boldness of rebellious punk rock. Having my cake and eating it too.
@AdamRainStopper process of belief came out in 02 and didnt disappoint. it was awesome. new america and no substance have some duds on them, but also some gems. every other record is genius.
@megenthal Believe me, I was NOT referring to the process of belief, in fact it's the only one I like better than suffer. It was new america that disappointed me. I didn't like any of it, so unlike them. I don't know if I've even heard "no substance", I bought a new america because it was the only bad religion CD on the Connecticut department of corrections commissary list, and I was dying to hear some bad religion. That was the ONLY BR album I had to listen to for 3 years. Try to imagine that.
@AdamRainStopper New America was a bit of a flop, but there's still some songs on it I like. Hands down the worst Bad Religion album ever put out was their second one; Into the Unknown. There's not 1 song on that album I liked. In fact it was pretty damn awful.
@HeavyMetalMushrooms Is that the one where they tried to be Harry Chapin? Ya know, "the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon, little boy blue and so on".....Bad Religion with an acoustic 12 string and a bunch of songs about trees and birds. Yep, pretty awful.
@arequipa1 Bad Religion has been the only band i can name that has stayed consistent through every album. Like most bands they've gotten softer, but not by much, not by even half as much as some other punk and rock bands.
depends on what sell out means. if trying to make money to pay for life is selling out then ya i guess so. If growing up and being adults means selling out then ya sure, if staying true to being causitive to opening minds and expressing fundimental belief systems thru engineered sound and lyrical content means selling out then yes.
@arequipa1 YA MAN I HAVNT PURCHASED A SINGLE RECORD SINCE THE SIGN TO ALTANTIC sorry caps.. but i still think the general "mood" is there and im kinda diggin the low fi folky sound of the acustic stuff. i was 16 when i started listenig to them and now im 36 and i dont own a single tape, cd,10", or even any mp3's for the fact they signed major label. i was on an old guy nastalgia pun-crock mission. lyrically the edge is there, musicly, well.. i dunno. its to pretty. lets call BR folk.
@arequipa1 Thanks, i rather like my style too ;D BR was the real 1st exposure to new "think" I've had growing up in white trash rural new england's follow the hurd mental deficiencys and gave me a real gateway into understanding of "it all" more than anyone or anything surrounding me at that time could have even hoped to achieve. for that, they will always remain special.
BR opened the door to intellectual freedom i might not have found until much much later... ... if ever!
@zebracharlie74 what part of new england, cuz i used to live up there. yeah, i really got into the old BR too, back in the day, some of those songs were like a balm to me. LOL.
@sbritt1994 Greg would indeed be a good president because he is a realistic ATHEIST / HUMANIST SECULARIST and not a DUMB CHRISTIAN / RELIGIOUS LUNATIC like most U.S.A presidents so far.
@moomookillertime blah blah...stupid hedonistic yank. First of all...how would I know if I like something until I experience it, and one must know what you don't like to define what you do. Secondly, why would a little negative criticism of anything be bad? A Devil's advocate can be essential to the progression of anything.
@moomookillertime so you didn't listen to it, as it is not the same song, but has two or maybe three riffs in it that BR formed their whole sound around. You are a little mouth piece, I bet you don't even know who Gurewitz is, the founder and "inventor" of BR. And moved on to become an asshole producer and sell out piece of shit. And BR would loudly state their influence by DOA, for you to dismiss them shows your intellect.
@NOmeansnoFAN + Who gives a shit if the band is big label or not. Every band started out small. I feel sorry for you that you pay so much attention to that. Just listen to the music, AND SUCK SUM DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK.
@moomookillertime many people care, fool. large labels drain the art out of music, contracts to produce an album a year, tour tour and more tour. They censor topics and styles and mandate the "flavour" of an album. Figures you wouldn't know this being a 22 yr old Beatles fan! They were the worst...ol' Brian Epstein did it to them, and performed your favorite act on them also....known fact Brian liked him some young Beatle cock!

@sbritt1994 Greg would indeed be a good president because he is a realistic ATHEIST / HUMANIST SECULARIST and not a DUMB CHRISTIAN / RELIGIOUS LUNATIC like most U.S.A presidents so far.

I don't know if that actually means anything, but it will continue to baffle me until the day I die.

The fuck is the playlist. "OffspringVEVO's playlist" is a couple offspring songs with a ton of Bad Religion, Kottonmouth Kings, and Blink 182.

@grahamzandah there seems to be a growing innernets trend to only comment on things you like............. sad, sad days.

@NOmeansnoFAN Why the hell would you go watch a video you don't even like? Let alone leave a comment. You don't make sense.
moomookillertime 1 year ago
@moomookillertime blah blah...stupid hedonistic yank. First of all...how would I know if I like something until I experience it, and one must know what you don't like to define what you do. Secondly, why would a little negative criticism of anything be bad? A Devil's advocate can be essential to the progression of anything.

@moomookillertime you would never go back to little boys..chump.
Plus BR made their entire career by ripping off DOA. 1/2 of their early songs are all stolen riffs from "the prisoner" ...listen for yourself:

NOmeansnoFAN 1 year ago
@NOmeansnoFAN I don't give a shit who wrote or sung the song first. All that matters is that Bad Religion is 100 times better at it. Okay, chump?
moomookillertime 1 year ago
@moomookillertime so you didn't listen to it, as it is not the same song, but has two or maybe three riffs in it that BR formed their whole sound around. You are a little mouth piece, I bet you don't even know who Gurewitz is, the founder and "inventor" of BR. And moved on to become an asshole producer and sell out piece of shit. And BR would loudly state their influence by DOA, for you to dismiss them shows your intellect.

moomookillertime 1 year ago
@NOmeansnoFAN + Who gives a shit if the band is big label or not. Every band started out small. I feel sorry for you that you pay so much attention to that. Just listen to the music, AND SUCK SUM DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK.
moomookillertime 1 year ago
@moomookillertime many people care, fool. large labels drain the art out of music, contracts to produce an album a year, tour tour and more tour. They censor topics and styles and mandate the "flavour" of an album. Figures you wouldn't know this being a 22 yr old Beatles fan! They were the worst...ol' Brian Epstein did it to them, and performed your favorite act on them also....known fact Brian liked him some young Beatle cock!
