dude I am soooo thankful for this tutorial... I play the TRUMPET and I am learning to play this.. thank you for this great tutorial on the best FF character EVER!!! Her and Cloud <3
Btw ravanous, just wanted to point out that you pronounced tifa's name by saying the tif part as if your saying the name tiffany. However, it should be teefa like your saying teeth instead of tiffany. Not raging or anything, but thanks!
Ravanous, thanks for the tutorials you post. This will probably be the third one I learn from you (after OWA, Aerith's theme). Thanks again, and please continue sending us tutos !
not to hurt you feelings.. but i think you should start at E then and so on... i've played that piece and i bought the original sheet...arranged by shiro hamaguchi..and of course..composed by NObou Uematsu
Well you're wrong. That is not the original sheets if it starts on E. Listen to the FF7 theme and play the song in F. You'll notice they're both on F. Not E.
@Ravanous the very first note is an E indeed. though i suspect you both talk about different versions; VeeJay and I talk about the piano collections, while Ravanous talks about the in-game version.
the opening is played much differently. Listen to the soundtrack dude... Your way could be a different one, but the one i'm thinking of (which i'm listening to now, and can for the most part play) has a different opening. And sorry to sound like a douche. I didnt mean it like that, cause you are pretty good, and you do a nice job teaching
@sptfire828 I dare you to search google for "final fantasy 7 ost midi tifa's theme" and not find that the only difference is that I only repeat the opening riff one time less, I skip right to the end after 3 repeats.
When I say F major chord, I am simply referring to the first set of notes you hit in the beginning of the song. F, to C, to F. Your pinky hits F, your index finger his C, and your thumb comes all the way across and hits the F an octav higher.
Hey OP!!!! you are SUCH an awesome guy for posting this. Not only is the OST but you actually take it slow and explain which notes were are playing. you are my hero and thnaks again!
great tutorial they all keep getting better and better, do you think you can make a tutorial for Jurasic Park's theme the ones that have been out are ether incomplete of suck
ty so much for posting this! I can't play a lick but I'll visit your page often and practice. I love the ff soundtrack and wish to learn it badly. pls check out my vids too :)
THANKS! that was so helpful but i think that it would help it you could say to play it together or play through it but besides that it was sooooo HELPFUL! thanks man
This is purely amazng, I don't play piano and this makes me feel like a pro, this and Aeriths theme are just perfect. Do you think you could do something from Crisis Core? like The Burdened? Thank a ton for the video man! :)
sir i found out about u by looking at a terrible tutorial of aeriths theme.... there u commented and said that ur tutorials were thorough and professional... lol u were not kidding thank u soo much
Yeah, I agree on the green tabs above the keys. It's very clear and a great help.
Possibly just as a small improvement you could try adding the chord names above the left hand where appropriate, instead of relying on the audio to inform us what chord it is. At least for me anyway just reading off the chord names would be lovely xD
I should really work on my reading, but your tutorials are fine as well, I love them, keep them up.
Thanks for the idea. I'll do that too. I'll put stuff like "C Minor" above the green tabs, with each note written out like you see here. Yes, I'll be doing all of One Winged Angel. Expect it quite soon, as it'll be on there for the release of my site sometime next week.
Are you going to cover the majority of the FF7 soundtrack? And would you consider touching on some of the other FF's soundtrack? (if you haven't already lol!)
Yeah, all in due time. FF1-10 will have select tutorials for most of the popular songs worth learning. FF7's is special and most of the FF7 soundtrack will be made into tutorials, regardless of popularity.

The first notes in the song, or the first real chord? Everything's pretty spot on to the original. All it takes is listening to the original.
