  • what did you use for the bottom plant part of the graft?

  • @momovomo That is Pereskiopsis (probably velutina)

  • @DRCEVNL - I've watched this video over and over.. am I right or am I wrong: there is no crossing vascular circles when grafting on pereskiopsis? OK, seedlings rarely have 'circle', its usually something of dot size, but it seems to me that Miss(?) Bouwman places seedling in the middle of pereskiopsis. I always cross circles when grafting 'bigger' plants, but my shaky hands give me really hard times when I try to match pereskiopsis' circle and seedling dot....

  • @AnTTunTT I dont think vascular bundeles are such a big issue on Pereskiopsis in most cases. I myself never noticed any difference (the only difference i have seen so far was in grafting Hatiora on Pereskiopsis, but i did not graft large entities of Hatiora, so i am not scientifically sure) . So i would not care to much :)

  • @DRCEVNL Ahhhhh.. I see. So, 'press and keep pressed for a while' is what matters the most. Correct?

  • @AnTTunTT Yes, but very litlle preassure. Eevn without any preassure the seedling will hold most of the time. But with a litllepreassure the chances are better

  • @DRCEVNL My eyes and my hands will be grateful for this info. I owe you (more than just) one :) Thank you.

  • @86el By doing this the grafting surface is covered till just before you put the seedling on. This will prevent the surface drying or get infected. But i don't think if you work quick that it is a neccessity.

  • What a wonderful little video- very nicely done! Thank you!

  • @foxwithchickenpox Thanks for taken the time to say something nice.Really appreciate it.

  • @mewtwoftw I would say so, no problem expected.

  • @mewtwoftw Sorry, i dont know what species moon cactus is, neither do i know the kind of stock called sme. If you decribe it a little bit more i maybe ableto answer your question. Or send me some pictures

  • Nicely done.

  • Clazien died after a brief illness on December 28, 2009

  • thanks. very informative.

  • ok, beuatiful video. ciaooo

  • I didn't understand a word you said, but I learned a lot. I have some pereskiopsis spathulata I'm going to use for rootstock soon - thankyou for the very informative video.

    :)
