Yes, Doug Fournet won a gold medal at 220 lbs at the 2010 British Open Sambo Championship, surprisingly enough Jones didn't get caught in a Sambo leg lock despite wearing wrestling shoes. Fedor is versed in Sambo, but specializes in Combat Sambo which is closer to mma than normal Sambo, because it incorporates strikes as well. Looks can be deceiving, Sapp and James Thompson look scarier than Fedor, yet Fedor is better than both fighters combined, Doug may not look scary but he's good.
