@manny9567 unlike what the apple website says...Laser mice(of any brand) tend to be more exact when it comes to tracking and dpi...but the number of surfaces they can be used on is greatly reduced....his Logitech could be an optical mouse which doesnt always have the DPI, but tend to track on more types of surfaces

Apple does make some small stuff with touchpads. But something what you have to practically facepalm your desk just to get a grip to it, along with touchscreen, will be really uncomfortable, because when you swipe it looks like you have to lift your fingers slightly and could cause strain,

The Microsoft Arc Mouse is curved and multitouch, and i`m using it now, it is much more responsive then my magic mouse, and better looking, in my opinion

Excellent review. I've had my Magic Mouse for about 3 weeks now. 1. It is a beautiful mouse. 2. It is very uncomforable to use. While I do love the multitouch surface it does not allow you to rest your palm on top of it. Also, love the shirt.

@ChaiBeta Gestures are slightly different on trackpad: 3 finger gestures makes it possible to use pinch zoom, magic mouse focuses on 2 and 1 finger gestures. Other than that, it's just what you prefer, a trackpad or a mouse. I went with the magic mouse, being that it's sort of a trackpad/mouse hybrid.

Great review, but you should use it more than a few days before reviewing. These things seriously give you hand cramps if you use them over a few hours a day, and they're very thirsty for batteries. I was replacing batteries every 10 days before I finally gave it away and went back to a regular mouse.

you can change the tracking speed lol. I can move my cursor from one end of the screen to the other with one flick of my wrist. this is the greatest mouse i've ever used. it works flawlessely on os lion. and i find that using on finger for tracking and clicking works well.

@Stalaheid no, the magic mouse is the worst possible mouse for gaming, because scrolling in games is erratic and just doesn't feel right. your best bet would be with logitech, I'm actually using the same logitech mouse as the one in the video, the MX Revolution, and it is perfect for anything, especially gaming.

For someone who knows best you certainly forgot you can easily change the mouse sensitivity in START, CONTROL PANEL, MOUSE, CHOOSE SPEED, HIT APPLY. Now you don't have to take you hand off the table to finish your slide. If you have a MAC just look it up same thing. If you have Linux you would never need my advise by now. PEACE

I just got it, and it is very nice looking mouse, but that's true about tracking in Mac osx, I changed the speed and it's better, and I tested it with windows 7 also, and tracking is even better in windows! It's very good I can say, so I'm keeping this mouse, cuz I found its very useful even for editing something, I recommend to get used to it, then decide if you like it or don't like it, my opinion so far, I like it! Its definitely not a gaming mice

Yes, It has nice features, I'll give it that. I really digg the multi tacking options. But you have to admit, This mouse is far to small. Nothing to rest your hand on. And personally, I want a comfortable browsing experience. But having nothing to rest my hand on so that I have to either hold it up or drag it along the desk will significantly reduce that comfort. Thus I am not purchasing this product. Good try apple, But looks ain't everything.

I use the Microsoft Arc mouse with my iMac (expects god to hit him with lightening) and it is my favorite mouse over the Magic Mouse because of it's programmable buttons. Mine, the older generation, has a programmable scroll wheel button and a button on the side I use for Expose. Also, like SKB said here, it is too damn small for my hands and again, it's tracking is just a tad bit off even after being adjusted in System Preferences.

I do not own the magic mouse but I tried it out at my local Apple Store and I liked it.

My hands are much smaller than this young man's and that big Logitech mouse he has would be uncomfortable for me. Ouch. So it's down to a personal choice. I liked his review, but I would like to have seen him show the various techniques when using the MM. Thanks Soldier. (Handsome guy too:) )

My family just got an imac for christmas and i can tell you right now that the magic mouse is definitely a great choice. People should note that you can right click with it. Ive only ever used mac mouses that you have to press on the keyboard to get the right click function. Also as everyone has mentioned you can change the settings on the mouse to make it go faster. I changed it within 5 minutes of using the mouse. Its almost necessary

You cant update the DPI. If the mouse isn't sensitive enough then your screwed. You would need an entirely new laser in the mouse. Fail. A mouse that cant even track a screen in a few inches. The DPI must be below 1000. Thats just pathetic. My mouse is 6000.

Also, I find that I rest my hand on the table rather than the mouse, and use my thumb and middle finger to move the mouse, rather than using my arm and having my hand resting on the mouse. Again, it feels more natural.

Piece of software called BetterTouchTool which is amazing for the Magic Mouse. I've now set my mouse so that a two fingered swipe in any direction switches spaces, a three fingered swipe up open expose (don't know why, just feels natural), a three fingered click opens spaces, and a four fingered click opens dashboard. I still have the normal two fingered swipe things happening if I hold down ctrl while I'm doing it.

@Razathus I wouldn't recommend it. Am I correct in saying that for FPS-es, there's a lot of clicking and sliding the mouse across the table? This mouse isn't good at tracking that well. It's not the accuracy. It's the speed, rather. If you do a little bit of googling on it, you're come across many articles describing how poor it is. You have to lift up twice to move from one edge to the other on a screen
