  • My friends parents saw The La's a few years ago.

Apparently because they have so few songs, they played this 4 times on the same night

    Great song though =D

  • when I mentioned the springiness on the smiths track, it reminded me of the la's. Good version this, sounds less edgy but once again more honest, natural even. Come on, get yourself out there on the pub circuit at least, people need to see you live!

  • Quite liked that actually but the opening chords should've been played a bit slower.

  • Daniel you're so awesome.. and i really love your FAQ :D

  • Great job dude!!! I'm buying a Rick 360 but I cant decide on a 12 or 6 string. How do like the 12?

  • Is that you singing, too?

  • Pretty good, but the voice ain't as sharp as lee's.

  • very clean crispy riff, well played boys, all you need is something as good you wrote yourself and youll be rich beyond your wildest dreams so go for it guys

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • It's one person playing/singing all the parts! :D

  • hi found you via 'two of the beatles have died' video.

you have a good ear we would never have been able to decipher those lyrics. we may have a bash at making a video response to it. thanx.

  • If that's you singing then christ, wonderful. Voice is nearly perfect for this song. The rest speaks for itself.

  • Nice job!

  • on of my favorite songs...and you pretty good at playing it.

  • Wow!

  • Sounds just as good as the original! You're very talented. It's about drugs someone once said.

  • Good song, great playing on all the instruments, nice video editing.

  • I just got the primrose league podcast! incredible good songs!

  • Thanks, more coming soon...

  • I love your Rickenbacker

  • Os Mutantes are a 60's band from Brazil. They had lots of influences from the psychedelic rock but mixed it with brazilian rythms. I'd say download a track named "2001" or "panis et circenses". I think you're gonna like it.

  • everything you touch is gold.

  • You're too kind!

  • So, so, so, so, so GREAT!!!

I have a couple of questions for you...

    1) In which order did you lay down the tracks?

    2) I see in the drum and vocal shots that you are wearing headphones. Are you listening to yourself, or the original track?

  • 1) I set up the metronome on my multitrack system (VS2480CD), then did Ric 360, accoustic 12 string, bass, drums, and finally vocals. There are 6 vocal tracks in all - three parts that are all double tracked. The 2nd part is the harmony on "and I just can't contain..." The third part only comes in at the end.

    2) I've never played along to an original track for any of these videos. When I'm wearing headphones, I'm listening to the stuff I've put down so far.

  • Daniel, have u ever heard of Os Mutantes?

  • Didn't Kurt Cobain go on about them? I've never heard anything by them, what are they like?

  • really enjoy your stuff, it's so polished & entertaining. i pick up my guitar right away & try to keep up, which i can't but i'm tryin. ( how about back to the old house [for guitar~smiths] )

  • Keep at it.

  • genius!

  • Cheers.

  • the great think about it is when you hear it you think of 4 different people playing the instruments, every instrument has a different personality. excellent.

  • All my personalities say thank you.

  • Wauuuw! You are a very good singer aswell! :D

  • Thanks! I do more singing on the Primrose League podcast, search for it on iTunes.

  • Very good, I enjoyed watching this especially the bass playing!

  • excellent

  • Thanks!

  • I think you should add a vocal to the Smiths stuff. Nice to see you playing the drums as well. Are you a serious drummer or do you just play to add backing to your guitar work?

  • I don't know about a serious drummer... I don't try play the drums for comic effect though. Although sometimes that's the result. With the Smiths, I think impersonating Morrissey is something best done behind closed doors. Also I like to see if the guitar parts can stand alone as interesting music, and they always seem to.

  • hey, nice! must be a lot of work put in the making of these "tutorials". thank you!

  • It's not really work, it's fun. Apart from the video editing. iMove HD is only just adequate for this kind of thing.
