I agree. Snoop went mainstream, but let's face, he had to. Gangster rap isn't what it was. It's like auto-tune; a few guys made big names for themselves with it, so EVERYONE tried to get a piece of it. Every rapper is a "gangster" now. Claiming that you sell drugs and own guns is just meaningless babble these days. Westcoast/gangster rap doesn't have that appeal anymore. Party music is what's in. You don't have to be able to rap. You just need a catchy chorus and instrumental.
