  • I live how the video's info is in spanish and the actual video is in german LOL

  • Het staat ook echt bij amusement

  • Pozdrawiam Elkę school :)

  • buahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • nobody bothered to cut the battery cables or turn off the ignition. The damn lights are still on.

  • latest procedure.... notice air bag system.... smash the hell out of it before entering...

  • maybe u should turn the ignition off next time, this time you was lucky it was just an air bag and not the gas tank!

  • @paquete4 the ignition wouldnt have helped at all. That is the first thing you always do. Take the keys out of hte ignition and give them to ur chief or throw them in the trunk so everyone knows where they are. Even if you cut the battery cables the capacitor on the air bags still have a charge and all it takes is a tiny spark to set those damn things off.

  • BUAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAH

  • @0faisca0 youre not funny

  • @AC130EMPYREAL I know it is not nice these situations, poor fireman, but it was funny for me! I not care what do you think. sorry

  • @0faisca0 thanks for telling me?

  • @AC130EMPYREAL anytime!!

  • Self owned....never put our body/head between airbag an seat, this is what every fireman is learning.

  • @Mondenkynd how do you want him to reach you mister smartguy ?

  • OMG... How BAD that must have hurt!! Poor guy. Though if this is the only injury he ever gets during his career, it's a good one to have considering the alternatives as a fire-fighter.. but DANG.. that looks painful...

  • This happened to me when i was working on a car, fair enough in an acciden, your adrenalin is pumping so you dont feel it, but god it hurts so bad when not expecting it

  • haha shame it didnt go off WHEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPEND lol

  • lol

  • Poor fireman.

  • weird that happend right where i live so weird that i found it

  • the airbags can still deploy even with the batt cables cut...and auto ex 101 you dont put anything between an undiployed airbag and a pt.

  • Comment removed

  • whats an airbag catch net?

  • it's placed over the steering wheel to prevent the airbag from harming the patient or personel.

  • a little late..

  • haha disconnect the battery first

  • Even if you cut the cables there is stil enough power in the system to set off the airbag for about 15 min... Thats why you use the airbag catch net, whenever you are working a rescue.

  • still not enough...many cars have capacitors which hold energy after the battery is disconnected... an airbag restraint system is the only way to be 100% safe. We have two on our dept.

  • if u undo the battery terminals u risk causeing a spark and igniting possible fuel leaks

  • true. but if u cut the cables and leave enough space u wont get the sparks

  • SOP to cut Batt lines, make sure vehical is in park, and cribbing it.

  • @OFDUnit23 doesnt matter if you cut them or not there is still enough power in the lines to deploy the air bags even if you cut the positive cable, yes i agree that you should cut the cable. But the chance is still there for them to go off

  • Haha, Pwnd :P

  • there should be a switch to turn them off on the dash for the fire men ! bloody daft car designers !

  • why hadnt it gone off in the crash as there ment to thats the daft part

  • I'm an explorer. Our advisers said that before you do anything, dissconect the car's battery.

  • same here thats what the told us in my fire I/II class... just clip the cables and youll be fine

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa

  • Ouch. No predicting that. They should have disconnected the car's battery first.

  • disconnecting the battery alone doesn't get rid of the risk, they have power reserves. you should NEVER get between the patient and the airbag.

  • i guess some ppl learn the hard way. i bet a few emails got sent out after that.

  • this was the 80s. not a good decade for anyone.

  • That doesn't stop the bag from deploying.

  • Good thing he was wearing his chinstrap unlike a lot of people today. That's a big pet-peeve of mine.

  • fag

  • Why can that happen?? I hope he is ok!!

  • Guy def. got lucky. Even if the battery had been disengaged the bag can still deploy. Airbags are now equipped with power reserves that can last as long as 10 to 20 minutes. Some bags can also now deploy twice as well. Airbags are a scary thing. They save the victim, but are a death trap for first responders.

  • Thats for sure. Fuck that must of hurt!

  • @wingsrn05 No kidding eh. It's ironic that the gadgets car companies make to save help actually pose the biggest threat to us. Like now they have air bags that deploy from the a&b frames so we have to really be careful where we cut!

  • I knew one of the men injured. With that said, anyone that think that pulling a battery or even cutting the cable will secure a vehicle SRS, you are in for a painful surprise. A number of vehicles have a "backup" system to allow the airbag to still deploy for a short amount of time after a crash, 30 seconds to 30 minutes. So before you shoot your mouth off on youtube, use your computer do a little training, it could save your life.

  • wow..hes gonna have one hell of a head-ache.. hope hes ok

  • that why u guyz pull the battery out first =) then do ur thing

  • we used this in class. the reason they don't pull the battery is because they couldn't get the hood open with out endangering the patient. Well they tried to smash the transmission but that set off the air bag something about a micro-chip being inside.

  • # cause of injuries for EMT's are the airbags and now i heard that the bumper of newer cars can popped out just like airbag im not sure but thats what i heard from my EMT class

  • some new cars have alot of air bags in them it makes dangers for us firefighters to try to get people out of the cars with that many airbags we never kown when one might go off

  • just think some cars come with air bags all over the inside it really makes it dangers for us firefighters to even go in the cars to help you got out god hope he is ok from that

  • you can get a device that fits over the airbag in case it goes off. Cant remember what its called buts it is like a bra with straps. poor firefighter hope he is ok

  • This is why batteries and airbags should be disengaged PRIOR TO extrication!!! That FF was VERY lucky!

  • xxtrustxx i'm on duty tonight lol i'm just learning i'm part of the omfd if you live in this area of CT you would make a good dummy i can practice on.

  • That "fool" wouldnt think twice to save your ass if you were stuck in a burning building or smashed in a car you prick. You must not be one of the few in this world lucky enough to wake up and kiss your wife before you leave for work knowing in the back of your head it could be your last day. Sadly we're not the ones who make the calls on wether or not we have to help assholes like you.

  • @Skrat281 Fucking eh brother

  • You is trippin boy!

That fireman risks his life for people like you and dangers like this make their lives really suck sometimes!

I was working under the dash of a friends truck a while back and his airbag went off and it was pretty insane how much force it had behind it!

It missed me but I could feel the impact on the seat and it was gut wrenching...

  • poor fire man

  • ouchies

  • THAT MADE ME JUMP!
