I think it could be a little bit better- a little longer simplistic intro in the beginning rather than hitting you right away will add the drama the rest of the piece has.

Do it! I think Doom Metal styling would be a much better fit for this song, honestly. If you don't know doom metal, a good band to look up is Shape of Despair - Angels of Distress. I liked this though!
