i love the movie..and i'm a lifetime fan. i cried the entire movie especially at the end when she though she saw her son and when she went to the priest
I really like your presentation and demeanor. What do you think of the following?
Far more women are religious than men. Christopher Hitchens suggests this may be because before the 20th century, many more women lost babies and they couldn't bear thinking there was no place for them to go.
Also, I feel far more religious mothers are severe versus their husbands. Do you tihnk that mothers are thinking sexually & deep inside wish all men be attracted to women and see being gay, a threat?
Journalists might offer true insight into the numbers of those in any faith who simply adopt the faith without complete and rigid beliefs. We have, "cafeteria catholics," and "jack mormons," in ours. I can name two evangelicals who are wrecking havoc and struggling with two gay sons. One suggested and viewed with them, The Bible Tells Me So. It opened communication.
For all the noise how being gay is "an abomination," and "The Bible is the word of God," The Xians just cherry pick what they want anyway. I doubt you can get many of them to swear off pork or shellfish, for example.
Very well said. Thank you for posting this. It shocks me how pompous people refuse to listen to reason just so they may retain their faith.
This movie hopefully has a huge impact on parents of gays and gay children contemplating suicide. Those who feel such should note: THE BIBLE IS INDEED FICTIOIN and THERE IS NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF CREDIBLE EVIDENCE THAT JESUS EVER EXISTED! Also, We KNOW AS FACT that the miracles attributed were simply borrowed from other religions and did not happen.
i'm sure he existed as i'm sure there were many men who ran around making the same claims. or perhaps there was a great teacher of ethics and morals? whatever he was, the church turned him into "the lord our god"
Well, I am sure "He" didn't. You see, if you remove the miracles & half god/man, what is the point? In the first chapter in Matthew you will notice "He" was supposed to be called Emmanuel. But that disappeared. This was all happening in the time of Zeus ---- hmmmm Je Zeus?
There were lots of people called "Jesus" back then just like in Mexico today. Where they pronounce "Jesus" as Hey Soos
It is my finding along with millions of others realizing today, "He" simply was a created myth.
that's what i meant. there were plenty of "nice" people. the church just took a character (an amalgam, perhaps) and made him into what we know today as "hey soos". (very funny by the way)
I loved the movie and I'm glad it didn't end up being as pro-Christian as I thought it might be, but still felt it should have offered a non-Christian perspective. I completely agree with your thoughts. I can't believe how much intellectual dissonance exists even in gay Christians. I was on another video and one said "You just haven't prayed hard enough and really wanted Jesus." I'm like "Uhh... Isn't that what fundamentalists say about curing homosexuality?" He did get my point at least.
Incredible movie. I was moved to compassion, and wish Bobby was still alive and able to see that (a.) he was a good person (b.) God did not hate him (c.) that not all Christians think badly of gays and lesbians. I ran into a guy with skewed logic that felt blacks were impure (according to his Christian church). Unlike most respondents in this forum, I did not blame Christianity in general (nor Christians). I blamed him for allowing himself to remain uninformed and controlled psychologically.
Hollywood keeps kissing the ass of xtians. The movie makers know the majority of the peeps in the U.S. are xtians and they don't want to lose money. It's getting old. Someday ppl will look back on the days of theists as being the brainwashed barbarians that they are.
Prayers for Bobby was incredibly inspirational and emotional. After hearing this commentary thing, I feel like its meaning was ripped apart. Kind of sad.
Finding this movie inspirational is like finding inspiration in the new moving coming out about a nazi who has a bond with a Jewish friend. You shouldn't be a nazi in the first place. You shouldn't take morality out of the Bible in the first place.
i realized it sounds that way after i listened to it a couple times. but i do give her credit for changing, and i simply state that if she wasn't credulous enough to believe in god to begin with, if she had questioned the absurdities in the bible to begin with, she wouldn't have been so harsh and tormenting to a wonderful person. i'm not gay, but i feel terrible and almost hopeless about the way gays are persecuted. christians have their faith to use as a good reaon for it
why? he doesn't attack his mom, he jsut says that she, like others, is still confused about religion. i'm sure he's still glad she's warmer towards gays
Comments rendered by ChrisandDG is not worth responding to. A response only empowers him. Let him remain in the cesspool of bigotry where he belongs. You can't reach them all.
Your pet religion video had me in stitches laughingWWJD - What would Jesus recommend as the best torture method to get people to confess their sins and accept Jesus as their loving savior?
Answer: What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others. - Confucius, The Confucian Analects about 500 years before Christ
Its ok to be gay. But do not let anyone play with your private area. Except priests. If a priest plays with your private area, or has you play with his, it is for the glory of god and you will be blessed for it. But dont tell your mom. And if you want it to stop, praying to god wont make much more difference than praying to anything else. Except maybe the police.

Seriously, thanks go to all the medical professionals, especially the surgeon.
