  • Why the hell aren't you allowed to film out the front of a train??? What kind of bullshit is that?

  • how do u railfan on the 1 trains

  • ... at 3:33, that is way too big for a metal net.

  • I recall making this journey myself a couple of times during that construction project. Although it wasn't much faster, as the train had to proceed at the standard 5 mph past the work zone at 103rd and 110th.

  • in response to your note in the vid description, commuter rail seems to be a bit more strict about the videoing policy. i wouldn't worry too much about the subway, but to be safe, stick to railfan windows on the subway only. otherwise, you could tape out the rear of the R62A since there is no personel at the rear of the train...

  • i actually did that on an R62 4 train because there was a poster at the front window D:. But I will tell you that about 3 months before that video was taken, I got held up at the police for videotaping out the front of an M3 on the LIRR

  • dude, i was held up by police at grand central for looking a a couple of NHL trains leaving the station. i didn't even have a camera on me...

  • @FanRailer Since the Times Square incident, for your own safety, do not photograph in the subway at all. You now will be locked up.

  • @pbatommy I appreciate the concern, but until they make an official change to the Rules and Regulations and we are notified by the MTA, my stance on photography in the system will remain unchanged. they can arrest me, but then they'll have to pay me a few million bucks (sorry taxpayers).

  • nice video

  • 0:01 to 3:00 was the most interesting tunnel sections I have ever seen, especially because of some sunshine that I see, but for what reason?

  • for some reason on the IRT, there are vents above the tunnels, you know the metal nets that you walk over on the street?

  • @moman1208 Because back wen the subway first opened they had natural light filtered into the train stations from the street because they did not have very god lights back then

  • Many of the original 1904 subway stations had skylights or vents that allowed light to shine down into the stations. Remember that the stations used to only be lit by dim lightbulbs.

  • I'm surprised the train isn't going so fast. And they really should bring express service back by making the 9 local and the 1 express

  • no one wants that

  • The song "親近你" (Close to You) by 黎明 (Leon Lai) reminds me of the Manhattan Valley (at 125th Street) because I was listening to this song on my CD player when I discovered it in May 2004. I still can't find that music video. Looks like Hong Kong has some tough copyright policies with their music. im surprised you were able to get the railfan window.

  • nah not really. i managed to sneak my small camera at the door of the cab window. alotta those windows however have scratchitti tho so i was kinda lucky lol

  • good thing the operator didn't complain.

  • I knw, glad the motorperson didn't see ya, and not to mention, some of those small windows are sometimes covered by either backpacks, clothing, or ads/scrap paper, but I've been lucky to catch an open window on the R62 fleet. I also like the naked but blurry window on the R142 fleet, as long as it isn't covered by it scrap paper or ad posters

  • What time were on this train?

  • Correction...what time were you on this train?

  • i dont remember around 1 or 2

  • Oh ok....I did my video b/w 7-8am Sunday. I thought we was on the same train that is why I asked!

  • lol it wouldve been really funny if it was. it was saturday and i was guiding tourists. i also got the R42 A train with them lol

  • LOL....yeah it would have been funny. I just looked @ your A train video....that train was kind of packed!
