@ironcow64 all the guards will still attack u,u will have to surrender by press (block+spacebar),the guards will then stop without anything else,they wont arrest u or anything,they will just stop immediately.if ur iusing xbox,there is also a surrender key combination.i dun kow,u can google it.

So, as I did the quest, it was all going perfectly. Until I got the the blind moth preist part, and I didn't sit in the chair, which means that they didnt give me the scroll. They realised I wasnt the woman they thought I was, and attacked me. Is there any way to get the scroll now? I've searched their bodies, but I still can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

An easier way at the end is to get arrested, since the elder scroll is a quest item it cannot be removed from your inventory

you want to know a fun thing? instead of going in the top of the tower and fall through the fireplace go all the way back into the beginning of the video (were the guards sleep) and activate that fire place. that should trigger the quest update without you falling and losing the boots of springheel jack. then you just have to pickpocket a guard so he notices you and asks if you want to go to jail or pay youre fine. just pay youre fine and you still have the elder scrolls.

You don't need to be level 20, just have good armor, weapons and the life detect spell and this can be done at lvl 5(which i did it at). The monsters level with you so you don't need to be level 20.

Here's a little piece of advice that can help and be useful to some other people : USE THE SKELETON KEY! It helps a lot... don't need lock picks anymore with it. It's basically the ultimate lock pick. You get it by doing the daedric quest of Nocturnal near Leyawin I think... anyways. Follow the road and you'll eventually find it.

There's a way to safe your Boots of Springheel easily. If you have over 100 health (easily done with fortifications)and a good acrobatics skill then you can survive the fall and still keep the lovely boots which weigh nothing.

No. Only people who are required for quests go unconscious. There is a blood price on all monks and guards. If you kill one you have to pay the fox big time.

Go back to the place where you fell down the Chimney. If you are playing on the PC version, hit the ~ button on your keyboard. Type in tcl then hit enter. If you put it in correctly you should now see "Turn Collision Off". Hit ~ again. Now you can walk through walls, through the air, wherever. Look straight up through the chimney and start walking. I think you can go back through the chimney this way. To turn collision back on, hit ~ again, type in tcl again, then hit enter and ~ again.
