the thing is, the makers tried to make 3 idiots as realistic as possible... u know, parental pressure, thirst of knowledge vs. ratta baazi... they took realistic topics, and hence, the film's characters had to be realistic also... this was Karena;s best performance till date, and that to because she looked real.... young ppl experiment at their age, and kareena's character looked real cauz they showed how Pia was also experimenting.. the nose ring, and kajjal, and her owning a scooter...
