  • wow u guys played really well

can't believed u guys pulled off the solos at the speed

that being said i noticed u guys sped up throughout the entire song

  • :( I only made honour drumming im dissapointed :S I shouldve practiced more..

  • Ah, we're doing this year but my band's way too small for it. Like we have no brass except 1 trumbone and 1 tuba, and 1 trumpet...

  • @avidreader013 wow fail...

  • we played this last year too ! you guys were awesome ; )

  • LOL that's me playing xylo xD

  • haha I'm watching this again because we're playing it at my school this year and I'm playing the same part :D

I kinda miss honour band, do you know if it's going to happen this year?

  • haha :) coooool. good luck!

haha i do too! of course! it runs every year. :P

join again! i'm going to too. xD

  • I wanna join again too! :( But I'm not in high school anymoooore. T.T

  • @Teduis489 what do you play? i'll be seeing you, most likely first alto

  • I play trombone.

I'm aiming for 1st trombone as well. I played 1st trombone last year. xD

Hopefully we both get it. :)

  • @Teduis489 How does "first chair" work in honour band? Is there such a thing, where the first chair plays all the solo's? I was in the honour guitar orchestra a number of years ago, but we didn't have any solo's, and I was 4th guitar lol.

  • well it's not like guitar. :P

they place you like 1st, 2nd, or 3rd or your instrument and that depends on the arrangement. Like I was 1st trombone last year, and i got no solos. :( so it's based on the pieces they choose. However, usually the instruments that get the solos are first chair. or instruments who don't divide usually like oboe and piccolo.

  • Thanks for replying, do you remember offhand how many alto saxes there were last year?

  • looool not really, maybe 3 - 4?

  • @Teduis489 wickedd, l'll be seeing you on rehearsal nights in any case!

  • I was in Honour Guitar too! I was guitar 2. I probably remember you~ xD

  • @darkcontender lol just watched a couple of your vids to see if you were the erika i remember, and you are lol...i've got you on facebook....redhead on 4th guitar, remember me? i guess you're out of high school now so you won't be in the honour band? (i ended up staying back a couple extra years, so hopefully i'll get in) i miss the guitar ensemble though, they should bring that back

  • @drumstyx6464: Uh, redhead? I was looking through Facebook. Are you Erich? If not, what's your name? I can remember your name most likely. :)

and yeah, I'm done school now. I really want to join in Honour Band again cause I get challenged with the music, although last year wasn't all that challenging. =P

Good luck though! What instrument are you gonna be auditioning for?

  • @darkcontender hahah yep that's me! I auditioned for alto sax, and found out today I made first! :D

  • hey! thats sooo good. !

    i got secondd.

  • lmao im playing this in my band this year too xD

  • a bit slow

  • Oi! We just got this piece at the beginning of the year!

Just want to say, your trumpets in this are really good!

One thing that bothered me was the solo with the piccolo and the oboe (though I don't think you had an oboe, if I heard properly, it was a saxophone), the piccolo would blast at higher notes. And that when there was no more happiness, but then moodiness, the clarinets were a bit slow to pick up the change.

BUT, other than that, a REALLY good job. It's a tough song!

  • lol thankss.

but we had a oboee. You can hear it very clearly in some parts. :P

  • To be honest; I didn't really hear the oboe. I guess it got blended with the other instruments.

  • Just out of curiosity, who is your conductor?

    He looks very familiar.

  • Tony Gomes, he conducts the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. lol. It's in the description box. - >

    xD

  • oh sorry, i meant to say the Toronto Wind Orchestra not the Symphony Orchestra.

  • Oh ah.

Sorry, I usually never read the description boxes. ;_;'

Too busy looking along, and playing along. Haha. (:

    Thanks, though.

  • rooofl. np.

    LOL good luck! :)

  • Can anyone tell me the time signature for this piece? It's really bothering me. Lmao. I can't wait until im old enough for the senior band... :3

  • It's all over the place. 4/4, 7/8, 5/4, 3/4, 6/8...it's all there. And it changes constantly. Makes counting really annoying.

  • in the recording it was much faster than this. :/

our conductor likes to take risks. (:

i'm in the dr. norman bethune band, have u heard of it? :D

  • we're playing this starting now (beginning of school year)

the conductor wants to 100X faster than this. D:

  • lol, this is the tempo that it's supposed to be played at.

idk why your conductor is taking it a lot faster. :/

  • Awesome :P We played this for a concert that we had for our school in Scarborough :] Albert Campbell to be exact :P. You guys are awesome, we played a lil slower than this. Senior band too by the way :D.

  • we're playing this in my band, mallet percussion is NOT easy for this peice, but it's totally worth it, such a beautiful song

  • We just got this piece today, I absolutely love it; it's amazing. Can't wait to start playing it with the band.

  • i have to play this starting in septemberrr

    i love this.

  • it's awesome. you'll love it. :)

  • i love it.

  • Lmao omg I see me.

    Thanks for uploading! :)

  • np. ;D i lovee this song ;D and we did pretty good on it too. xP

  • Yaaay!!

    Omigosh, the triangle!! LMFAOO
