  • @mannb18 and @Nobbleykyle tnx guys ;) i now go to gym everday, and soon i think i will start training jiu jitsu :))

  • @lukicarSK8 hey check out my channel i just uploaded a high class bjj system.

  • How can you get a crucifix from taking someone's back? I accidentally caught one yesterday, I was going for the death star and accidentally caught his arm while swinging my leg across, I pulled back the arm with my legs and realized in trapped it, I got in position and spread him out, he tapped out before I even went for the other arm!! I can't remember how it happened though -.-

  • This time i wil perform it on sparring

  • I can an awesome move to... it's called the T-BAG...

  • hey guys, i think this sport is awesome, so i got one question... is it too late to start training jiu jitsu, for me, if i am 16? i would like to transfer from jiu jitsu to mma when i teach how to pull submissions.. pls answer

  • @lukicarSK8 Never too late to learn Jiu Jitsu. Eddie Bravo didn't start till he was like 20 something.

  • @lukicarSK8 man i boxed from 15 to 19... i now fight mma out of southaven mississippi...we train bjj....its never to late..your 16, your still young if you start now get the basics down by the time your my age,19, youll be beast...the basics are what you will rely on in a match..you dont see masters winning with high-flyin spinning omuplatas...you see them doin the basics and gettin simple submissions...good luck lil bro

  • Can some1 please help me?? What is the difference between Jiu Jitsu and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? Which one is better or more applicable ??

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBP3765 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is what is used most commonly in mma today. IT is very effective even for smaller people fighting stronger opponents. IMO No-Gi BJJ is the best because on the street or in an mma bout you dont have a gi to hold

  • @MrBP3765 no particular branch is better, it depends on you, how well you have the technique, how well you execute the technique, in the street if your on some1 in the street there are unknown variables such as your opponants homies...on the street pull a bat out and beat a mofuckers ass its safer

  • i am practising Wing Chun, which is primarily a style where you want to stay on your feet...this style would be so perfect for me as a second style so i dont get owned if i go to the ground ;]

  • These videos are very helpful!

  • Has a MMA fighter ever executed this in a fight?

  • Good to have that one arm free at the end.

  • Really glad to find a dude that ''sees'' Crusifix as a position, rather than a submission.I think there is a potentially gr8 thing to use in your game,i really love it and experimented a lot with it,and seen many ''easy'' submission from there.Gr8 vids m8,keep em comming :)

  • 2:07 keep punching him with your free hand

  • i love the crucifix because people dont see it comming when they go for a single leg takedown

  • So beautiful!

  • such a great move especially after a throw !!

  • Neck Cranck...Not allowed

  • lol some peeps tab from that others not... its a technique to break the neck for crying out ! :()

  • Awesome jiu jitsu imma use it when fighting!

  • definitely my favorite fight technique

  • I'm gonna do this move while wearing a "Jesus didn't tap" T-Shirt. It's gonna be so apropriate =D

  • mmawarhoues i buy stuff from tehm all the time

  • Would this still work if your opponent has already turned into you or does this need to be started before he makes any escape attempts?

  • SIC

  • I like this. gana try this once i get on the mat.

  • Triangle/armbar combinations are also available if you jump the leg over his chest instead of bringing it under his back.

  • This is one of the more useful ground fighting techniques, well demonstrated. Nice job.

  • realmente esta tecnica e perfeita saindo do cem quilos para o crucifixo valeu pela dica.

  • pretty awesome.. my brother wont see it coming..

  • @facemadness:

    hahahahahaha :D:D

  • @facemadness ahahha nice

  • didnt get it...

  • Very nice. I've done the crucifix from back control but this one looks much easier to set up. Next time I get to roll I'm trying this!

  • i love how he uses him like a doll. LMAO

  • i love this move..i will use it on my next class

  • nice rack!

  • Damn! Thanks Submissions 101. This move is brutal!!

  • i freaken love this!!!

  • I did that to someone much taller and heavier than me with this move friday. THANKS

  • just rain those elbows

  • i dont wanna lick ass . but you guys are the shit explainin and showing new stuff..

  • This is awesome... i'm a wrestler and i get into the half guard all the time. it's nice to know another powerful submission other than the Kimora

  • nice technique

  • Soooo fucked if you're in that position.

  • yeah, in mma fight i'd rain elbows on him like a mother fucker! :D

  • this is my favorite technique, once you got the guy in the crucifix you can fk him up with your fists

  • Wicked man! Awesome f**kin move...

  • the gravata please!

  • great advice about the right leg. that was gummin' me up!

  • I love you Submissions 101, so much more informative for beginners than other videos out there. You guys are the best for sure.

  • Cool technique and great job explaining the details. I will have to try it out. Thanks...

  • im going to take up these techinques.

there must be a local class somewhere

  • this is how Brock Lesnar beat Frank Mir or i should say beat him up

  • no its not, he did a half nelson from half guard.

  • oh, ok cool

  • similar, anyway.

  • nice semi-simple move...btw, whats up with that sink piping hanging out the wall to left?lol...keep'em coming

  • To enjoisk8a911 and aragon:

This move is good, but side control offense and defense is to be considered. Notice that with his side control the opponents back is flat to the mat. With a struggling oppenent of course they would be turning into them making it harder to get under the arm-pit. Your side control and your opponents defense to it is the key factor. Well i mean at least in my gym XP

  • Is there any good subs for a bjj player in this position?

  • um in the crucifix i cant think of many subs... i think if you shouldwalked and swung your leg over you could get a armbar. i know its lethal if you lunge your knees towards their head and your elbows towards their head at the same time and youll knock your opponent out in a few seconds. (but possible concussion and further brain damage injuries)

  • You can transition into a rear naked choke while still maintaining the crucifix on the arm, or you could use the crucifix as a set up to taking the back. The crucifix also sets up an armbar pretty easily, thats one reason you need to stay tight on their arm.

  • at 1:24 you can do an ezequial choke. (your Right hand grabbing your left sleeve, left hand/wrist over his throat).

Or...if you can get your left hand round his head and grab his lapel (closest to you) you can get a lapel choke.

  • I like the set up a lot.

  • that looks painfull, it looks like you can get an armbar from there too

  • i would like to see them demonstrate the submissions in real time so you could see what it really looks like or demonstrate with a little but of struggling from the bottom guy

  • put in that to see it: watch?v=3Z2Phyg6qpM

It was in one of the early UFC's.

  • I havent looked at your video but Im guessing its the Gary Goodridge one?

If so, that was mean. That guys head was moving like a speedball. LOL

  • greak vid, man in mma they get to that and then they throw elbow to get a brutal tko W

  • Make it look so easy. Great job

  • how long till the prison guard?

  • Oh, that looks brutal. Gonna give it a go. Thanks guys.

  • i want to thank you guys for puttin this videos up. ive learned so many moves already that i never knew existed, or knew how to do

  • Great video

If you have some entries in to the crucifix against a turtles opponent, that would be awesome to see.

I believe one of Marcelo Garcia's newer or newest series exhaustively explores crucifixes as well.

Thanks for all the great videos

  • Could you do the version Bruce Lee did on Sammo Hung in "Enter The Dragon"...;D

  • wow. I don'T know if this is really practical, I'll have to try it out, but it sure looks really sweet!!!

  • Roy nelson owned kimbo in crucifix. Its really good in mma, to get an easy tko.

  • Ahh this must be the long awaited re-shoot of the older video xD

    Good work!

  • yep...there are a whole whack of them ;-) Hope this worked out better.

  • i got this only once....it is not an easy move to pull...

  • Looks pretty awesome..I've gotta try that sometime

  • bald white guy with a goatee beard and a tribal tattoo? yup thats an mma guy.

  • thanks for uploading your vids. Pinning a guy for 3-5 seconds can be hard, can be easy, but using technique and pressure and skill to make them submit, is poetry in motion. Submission is more than offense/defense, it's an artform.

  • Catch uses hooks from side control like that. I would really like to train it more but hardly anyone teaches catch wrestling anymore. You've trained some catch right Ari?

  • I've picked up some (wish it was more to be honest!) catch and shooto stuff over the years as well as some old folk style stuff.I always listen to those guys because they have a lot to offer to the jiu jitsu game. That is why I love cacc, sambo, bjj, 10thP, judo, shooto, jjj...you name it. Got to add to your tool box!

  • @Submissions101

I've been working this position a lot lately, and I like it. Out of curiosity, I also searched around to find escapes or counters to it. Didn't really find any. What would you guys do if you found yourself underneath someone going for (or already has) the crucifix or rack positions?

  • Bas Rutten used that submission in his book of big combat

  • Cool. Bas has a whole host of stuff in his books and dvds that he has picked up over the years. Bjj guys teach this position all the time...there are variations of course if you are jits or catch but it is all good!

  • These just get better and better!

I remember one time a coach told me that one could be submitted a thousand diffrent ways, I couldn't imagine so many diffrent submissions existed!

  • This is a great move Ari, Very well described. I tried something similar in a Judo tournament and my opponent did not tap but I won either way because he was technically on his back and the time ran out. I have to work on the neck crank part. thanks for posting this!

  • So you won the judo match because of the pin off the crucifix? I'd love to see that video. This is a GREAT position and underused in my opinion.

  • yeah, I was actually trying a neck crank then tried and arm bar but nothing worked, that dude was thick. I was desperate and once the timer started I just held on for my life and some how managed to get a pin. I doubt I will ever pull it of like you demonstrated but Im gonna give it shot.

  • I love how everytime the d bags go'first!' Ari is like eff you delete lol.

  • yep...biggest pet peeve in you tube land is the retarded "first' comment...so I always delete them. ;-)

  • Second, great video btw, ima go over it at my gym and keep it on mind.
