hey guys, i recorded a dance track only with the yamaha mm6 voices. check it out /watch?v=GOII20ngIow might be interesting for you as some sort of demo. for my other tracks i used a korg x50 if you're interested in that aswell
hi yamaha team, great tutorial!! ..im a beat maker and was wondering how to do triplets and doubles on the high hat on the drums section on the mm8,which occur mostly in hip hop genres..? thnx
I own 4 Yamaha keyboards. Entry level? Try 'easy to operate'. When you want to get it on without a lot of hassle, this is the one for you. I really like it.
Man, why Yamaha MM6 so strongly oriented and propagandize to electric "music'? The demos on this machine - are deep electric shit. The big part of built-in patterns is rap and electric "music". Why? What the hell? This machine is very-very good for it's price. The grand piano is great! The functionality is also amazing. I'm sure, Yamaha high- quality instruments must be oriented on a true art: instrumental, rock, pop, jazz, blues music and musicians, but not for shit (rap and electric...)
@BasilGnet This is a great keyboard I could use for my productions because my styles are R&B & Electro but I prefer to get an older version of this same brand like a couple of years earlier because the older, the cheaper
So how many tracks per song? I mean how many instruments per beat can i have. I want to buy it for hip hop production becouse sometimes i`m sick of opening the pc and the midi keyboards. So can i make a beat with 1 track of drums, 2 with lead synths, 1 base and 1 with strings . I seen on theyr website saying that they support as arranger 8 tracks per song and can store 5 songs on it, but i want to be shure
HELP!!!!how many layer of sound can the mm6 can do? im a big fan of orchestra sounds..i feel like adding different elements on the sound like adding timpani on the lower part of the keyboard and use velocity switch on it. thanks for the response :)
@vonne25000 It's not that powerful actually. it can stack 2 sounds together. and with 32 polyphony. it's gonna have note drop out. you might want to check out some higher range keyboards if you cant to do Orchestral sound. I personally prefer a kurzweil pc3 series board. they have the best orchestral sounds,
@cvl85 LOL... can't go wrong with the MOTIF my friend. even the MOX6/8 are very nice!!!! the quality pretty cheap but the sound is OMG!!! out of this world!
You should also try a soft-synth like Garritan Personal Orchestra. Memory on keyboards to load sample sets is small compared to PC RAM. eg. 128MB versus 4GB.
why don't the rotary knobs get disabled when you save a performance? it could sound totally different when you call up a performance if your knobs aren't exactly as they were when you saved the performance? am i missing something?
seem like the rotary knobs should get disabled when you save a performance because when you call the performance up it may sound different if your knobs aren't exactly as they were when you saved the performance? am i missing something?
@haani4 You do not need a computer, but you do need external speakers. You can use it with a computer as a MIDI controller, but all you need is a keyboard amp or any other speakers.
I would be grateful if someone could tell me the answer... I have the MM6 . I know how to write songs or patterns... my problem is that I write a pattern and when I press PLAY it doesn't repeat the written material... it plays it only once... what have I to do in order to repeat playing my recordings ??
@Sharpblade91 from what ive heard, this board is not not a worksatation, you cant loop, quantize, or import and export wav files. if you connected it to an interface and a daw than you can do alot more. at least thats what the dudes at guitar center told me.
@mytrifanesti that is his job ;) . but his price i rather affordable compared other synthesaizers. that's the reason why this is an entry machine... here in greece it costs 530 euros, while others cost 1200 and 1500 euros... :)
I never came back and said anything after I ordered my MM8 a year ago. All I can say about this keyboard is that if it is in your price range and you want something that you feel should probably cost more, order it.
I have definitely NOT been sorry I bought it. It's a wonderful keyboard that has brought me lots of satisfaction.
This keyboard from Yamaha is realy realy great!!! I find Yamaha make more keyboards for amateurs but this thing is amazing, i have the "yamaha psr sq 16" GLG Danny
"Just to impress your girlfriend becasue that is very important when you are a musician" @ 4:40 . That a good one lol. Thumbs up if you like that for a lough!!
I have an mm8 but very limited to drum beats. They are repated 3 times, either full, with bass or just drums. They cold have included more drum beats and included 2 extra buttons to have with bass or drums only. They sounds sine digital are not very easy to modify and store new sounds. Otherwise good synth with nice arpeggio. Also at this price would expect to change the drum kit. Very limited to beats. Great synth overall.
I tried one in store, it doesn't come anywhere close to how it sounds in this video, and it felt like a $200 keyboard. The piano sound is very thin and overly processed...The keys on mm8 felt very awkward. However, the keys on the Mo6 and Mo8 were great!
@jasonsr3 Dude...if u get this one, I will find u and crush ur machine. Get the KORG Triton...u can't get any better than that. Triton has awesome sounds. awesome look, and this Yamaha looks ugly....
@BrandonProductions1 LoL thanks thats what I needed to hear, I also just saw a Roland fantom s61 on Craigslist for 399 that I think looks pretty interesting.
This keyboard from Yamaha is realy realy great!!! I find Yamaha make more keyboards for amateurs but this thing is amazing, the mm6 is much more than a keyboard for starters i think.
@europe85hollywood I think they call it a keyboard for starters because of the price. This thing is ready for the stage. You can do so many things with it. Add some editing software (a lite version ships with it sometimes) and the sky is pretty much the limit, actually.
I was going to go for this but when i tried it in the shop i was dissappointed with the plastic fel of the keys. No doubt it its accessible and useful piece of kit tho.
I will bye an MM6 if Mr. Smorenberg is involved: Acutually, I would bye a rusty handdrivern grass-clipper if he was the salesman. He is amazing in creating interest of a product.
é muito bom ver um teclado assim funcionando para poder vero seu potencial, ainda mais com alguém que sab não apenas explicar, mas também usar seus recursos.
I tried this out at Guitar Center...It totally sucked..like the sounds just sounded crappy and the key's being unweighted etc..it's just not worth it. Way better off spending a little more money and getting a keyboard that is so much better
i was going to sell my MM6, but the way you play it makes me wanna keep it. Your the truth... care to share and tips or secrets for a guy thats only been playing for 4 months ever... I play in churches by ear..
I got my new yamaha MM8 this labor day sale, I got tthe best deal of all for 789 dollars, I checked all the music websites they all listed for 999 dollars for a new yamaha MM8.
