This certainly says it all - they don't care about your children - they care about what they are getting out of being a UNION! Why so many teacher's Unions in the country if not for them! Taking the money to put more Democrats who do not care about your children. IB, AICE, RTTT, Tenure, you paying their benefits, Dumbing Down our Children! It is all true and you need to take control of your schools and GET RID OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.

this. All that B.S. of teachers carrying signs, "It's for the kids" was so phoney. How stupid do they think we are. I AM an involved parent and you know what? I was told to back off - to let the 'experts' handle it. When the 'experts' handled it, my kids' grades dropped, they got into fights and had bad attitudes. Now we homeschool. Thank God!

Wow .... I find it very interesting where, near the 5 min mark of this tape, he proudly boasts of the 5 things that changed the NEA back in the mid 1960's, and no one, ZERO, NADA, has to do with students. They are all about empowering unions and rights for members. And since this time, where have the fortunes of our US students fallen versus students of other countries, and most sadly, versus the fortunes of the union pwer base thugs and crooks. The teachers and the students have been screwed.

@Gfunk0717 Agreed! We homeschool. Can't afford private school. Still pay for failing public schools. The solution is to END THE MONOPOLY. Monopolies are never in the interest of the consumer, or of freedom. Put the choice into the hands of the customers – the parents – & see how fast the schools (public & private) improve, & the salaries/benefits fall into line with those of the taxpayers. The free market levels the playing field & provides the best opportunity for improvement & fairness.
This idiot is an NEA attorney. I have heard similar comments at NEA assemblies over my 30 plus career. This is what is wrong with the Bolshevik left wing of my union. This is unfortunately the attitude of the leadership because the REAL teachers are doing their jobs in the classrooms.
