What is the name of this track? I liked it immediately in the movie. They play it twice but with strings and really cool piano. Couldn't get it out of my head.

@django772 Though it's called "Theme From The French Connection", it isn't...it's a radical reworking of the track "Subway" from the original soundtrack. You can find the original soundtrack on a blogger site called Dichtung Und Wahrheit.

@DidloDurante Actually, the cue is called "Umbrella", not "Subway". Doyle is tracking Frog One through the crowds by the umbrella he carries.

I remember how thrilled I was to hear Don's music in the French Connection, thinking, great, he'd get greater recognition. His band was so fast and so far out in left field for most jazz types that airplay was scant at times. I saw his ensemble at every opportunity and can tell you that band would electrify you and blow you straight to Mars! IMHO THE MOST INNOVATIVE BAND IN JAZZ HISTORY. Thx.
