this was top gun II basically ...... it was the high concept movies produced by don Simpson and jerry b.. this movie was a disaster.. thrown together to make paramounts summer block buster.. don Simpson was a Hollywood cokehead ' which everyone in Hollywood was at the time'.. they gave us these sh5t high concept movies that were all the something.. it forever changed Hollywood.. it was easy simple to follow movies with fast paced action and little substance.

Loved this in the cinema, though some great scenes where missing in the dvd version. Can spot even more deleted scenes by watching Paramount's theatrical trailer on their site.

Hopefully one day they do bring out the full theatrical uncut version, maybe for the 25th anniversary?!

Does anyone know if the VHS tape version has the deleted scenes or is it the same as the dvd version? Notice its 108 mins and 107 mins long.

Because NASCAR is nowhere near the skill level of F1. The reason why we mock NASCAR is because it's full of rich old men. The average age of retirement in F1 is 28 and that is because the forces would break a NASCAR drivers neck (negative/positive G) and it's all about hand to eye co ordination. Everything comes down to the milli second in F1 whether that be refuelling/decision making etc.

Reaction time has nothing to do with driving an F1 car, you might not realise this, but in fact you and me have the same reactions as an F1 driver. Everyone has the same reaction level (sort of)If you spend 2 days in an F1 car, your reactions adapt to it and you can start going. (but having reactions and having skill isn't the same)

Btw, it takes a long time for a rookie to get a nascar racecar up to racespeed.

I never said F1 drivers have superior reaction times...just that they need to call on it allot more than NASCAR drivers. It is a fact that your reaction time slows down with age and this is why F1 drivers tend to retire at 28 (on average) where as NASCAR drivers continue into theor 40's. I never said NASCAR was easy either my friend...just that it's nowhere near the skill level of F1. Not driving in the rain and driving around an oval does not take that long to master.

I also think the difference between nascar and F1 also has to do with cultural differences, in europe we make cars that are focused on taking corners, f1 reflects that somehow. While US driving is mainly straight and 90°corners.

F1 cars chuck out a power of 1500 Hp to the ton! The steering wheel alone costs nealy $1,000,000 and the down force and all the technology means that the F1 driver is dealing with everything in times that are not imaginable to a NSACAR driver. Then there's the fact that NASCAR drivers just race around an oval lmao. NASCAR is just hyped up with colours although that does not compensate for real racing my friend :)
